40s - week of 9/18/11

Cathlete
Today I started STS week 3, disc 7, ch/sh/bi, and walked 2 mile on TM while reading. I lost a pound too!!! woo hoo!, maybe it is STS helping to get off that plateau, because I seriously haven't changed my diet (and still been a bit bad). I have to leave here early tomorrow to get to my BFF's house and drive up to RMNP (rocky mountain national park) for some hiking. No 14er this time (getting too late in the year), but really the mileage and elevation gain for what we have planned is about the same. For 2 different hikes (1 going to a waterfall ( Ouzel Falls) and one to a lake ( Gem Lake), the elevation gain is almost 2000 ft, and 8 miles. Then we want to squeeze in yet another hike before the end of the month before snow sets in the mountains and her parents come back to live with her. So, it might throw off STS just a bit with a bit longer between the workouts depending on recovery from the hikes.

We think we have the smell in the basement taken care of (I don't pass out when working out now) and DH says we just need to replace the pee pads more often. She does go in her litter box, just not all the time, I think she gets confused like kitty alzheimers, along with all her other old age stuff. Will see how this plan goes for now, she really likes being around a person (not on them but by them) so still very interactive but I need to start preparing myself for the day.....

Mary, that's so great about your MIL enjoy your family time today. The money diet--unfortunately we know with this house being 19 yrs there are things that are going to need redone, I think I need to set up an acct and save for it since nothing is needed now (nor do we have the time now to determine what we want and do any of the prep work we need to do).

Jody, of those 2 w/o's, I'd pick Low Max for a replacement to KPC. Have you given up on KPC? We've luckily never had water in the basement (we are a desert state), we've been here 19 yrs and only one spring had so much rain we actually had to go buy an umbrella and sump pump for the basement (even though there was not water in the basement we pumped it to make sure the water didn't come in higher than the sump pump hole).

Roxie, was that the timesaver version of GS Legs? Hopefully you can get that roof on this week!

Ronne, how much did you buy?

Good Afternoon,

I am watching the Chiefs play football and then later I need to do a stretch my calves are screaming. Woke up this morning and my dizziness is back ran out of allergy medicine. The Royals beat the White Sox 10-3 got to see a couple broken bats and some home runs.

Lisa-yes it was the timesaver legs #1 33 min but it worked my legs and my abs hurt from med ball. Next month I am going to try doing circuits, hiit and plyo workouts and see what happens and also clean up my diet and try and fight genetics. Glad you got rid of the smell.

Lisa, how are you tolerating STS as far as time usage? WTG on your pounds! Your hikes sound like fun, it is truly an activity I would enjoy doing, especially w/ a buddy. I love to camp and explore and some of my favorite times were when I used to take my kids and go w/ a gf and her kids to state parks around FL.

I did Low Max to replace KPC in the Sept rotation that I just started. I didn't do KPC b/c I don't own KPC (yet, but I am interested in getting bodyblast series and pure strength (I can get both, delivered for 116, what do you think?). (I can prob live w/o them and save my $$)

Low Max felt a wee bit not hard enough w/ only 1 riser. I did Tamilee abs again, omg. ow.
Next sub I need is for Step Jump Pump, what about Low Impact Circuit? Or a Bootcamp?

I am glad you enjoyed your sporting events, Roxie. That tennis match was probably the only sport I have watched in years. I will be interested in your results from next month. I have mixed feelings about circuit workouts.

Did everyone have a nice weekend? : )

Good Evening,

DD and I walked 4 miles tonite the weather is really nice. We are going again in the morning.

Jody-I was reading what Jessica Biel does and she does these types of workouts plus fighting do I will be doing KCMs KBXing and Boxing along with the other workouts. I just haven't figured out how to put it all together.

Hi everyone

Lisa - hope the hiking is fun and there are no goats, lightning, etc. etc.! Glad you've got the pee problem sorted for the moment. I think the hiking allows you to take a break from STS, you know.

Jody - how was the knee with LM? No problems? I used to have that old Tamilee Webb DVD - it was one of the first ones I bought. I gave it away a couple of years ago to clear space in the cupboard. BTW, you must forgive me if I spell your name wrong sometimes - my SIL is Jodie spelt that way and I sometimes forget!

Mary - glad to hear that your MIL made such a good recovery.

Well, had a great weekend with BF. We walked miles so that counts as a workout! Bought a coat, boots (black suede wedge ankle boots!) and a few tops. Had a good night out and went to a nice veggie restaurant for dinner with a late-night drink back at the hotel.
Today I did Intensity Step only with my push-up challenge (47 in total!).

Good Morning,

DD went for our walk this morning watched the fog rise over the lake. The roofers returned this morning blocked my car in the drive so I had to ask them to move it. Tonite I will do KPC cardio, 30 pushups and 200 crunches.

Lisa-have fun with the hike.

Ronne-sounds like a great weekend.

Good morning! Did the TM this morning, not quite 4 miles, the phone rang and I was done! Jody, I avoid LM! Have only done it all the way thru once. I don't have SJ &P. I have been eyeing Pure Strength tho. Ronne, sounds like a great weekend, all my favorite things! I love boots. And 47 push ups? Amazing! Lisa, have fun hiking, hope you post some more pics. Murphy, hope this week is better for you. Roxie, yeah! You will have a roof over your head! How is the boss? Back at work yet? Well, have a lot of errands, so better get moving. Dinner was so good last night, I dreamt about it! Beef tenderloin on the grill. MIL is really coming along, very grateful. Mary

Hi yall,
Today is BM originial for me so I did the upper bod this morn before work with balance of workout to be done sometime today. I would run out of steam if I tried to do the whole thing at once, I think, plus I only have so much time in the morning. Holy moly, I had no recollection of how quickly that workout moves. zoom.

Mary, why avoid LM? I like it a lot, but not as much as the LIC/BC/BM2 workouts which were my staples. I used to do about 5 or 6 of the sections skipping the last combo.
I liked my kale and black eyed peas, but I sure didnt dream about it. Your dinner sounds yummy.

Have more to say but am being dragged out the door....bye for now

Good Evening,

Tonite I did KPC cardio just could not do situps or pushups without getting sick to dizzy looks like I need to see that physical therapist. They are still working on the roof looks like it will be done tonite

It's after 9:30 pm and I just got back. 13 miles and 2500 ft elevation gain...that's like a 14er and a half! Totally exhausted. Wasn't as exciting as a 14er. We had to pay $20 to get into RMNP, so we are heading back up friday for a different hike (pass is good for 7 days). Got some great deer pictures. The rest of the pics I let my friend take. I'll write personals tomorrow while I'm at work. WORK? You mean I have to go to work tomorrow now?!?!?!?!? I hope I can get out of bed!

Hi everyone

Lisa - sounds like a great hike. You sound so full of energy!

Jody - I can't do BM2 all the way through ( I don't have the original). It's just too much. I don't want to work out for 90 mins!

Roxie - crossed fingers that your roof gets finished today.

Mary - PS is good. Altho' it does look old, the outfits and the hair! My DD reckons Cathe looks older in that than she does in the recent ones!

Work is still really slack. Getting lots of cleaning done! Planning to do a UB premix minus the chest from 4DS today.

Low Max and now BM orig were not good for my knee. The run last week wasn't too great either, but doesn't seem as bad. And, I am not having as much fun without the intensity as I modify.

OK, back to minimizing lower body. Seriously, no health insurance and only 1 pair of knees to last me for the rest of my life, plus, I didn't even work out for nearly 2 years prior to 3 months ago, so why can't I just let it rest? ::smacks head::

Maybe I should do this:
1Ch/Ba/Abs
2Bi/Tri/SH
3Abs
4Total upper body
5Abs
6Ch/Ba/Sh
7Bi/Tri/Abs
That is 3 times a week/upper body part...maybe do two x?
Play cardio by ear, depending on what seems to cause probs....

Or, go thru STS leaving out lower body? Lisa and who else have STS?

Whatcha think of these choices--??
STS, omitting lower body
Upper body parts 3 days a week
Upper body parts 2 days a week

Mary, the PS is on sale, u know. But I can't help but add stuff to cart in order to get free shipping, so there goes 100 bucks no matter what I do.

Ronne, me neither on the 90 min straight. At least not if I am including wt work.

Lisa, I bet you are feeling your hike, today! It sounds like a good time.

Roxie, I hope you are feeling better. Does the dizzy last for a few days when it comes? J Biel has a great shape, I wouldn't mind having her figure.

Hey Murphy, whats up?

Good Morning,

Well they finished the roof last night now I am waiting on the bill. DD and I went for a 3 mile walk this morning. Still fighting the dizzies. Tonite is Super Sets Lower Body.

Jody-I had it for 9 months the last time I got it went away for a couple of weeks now its back.

Lisa-sounds like you had a wonderful hike.

Ronne-roofs done.

Hey girls, guess what? I took a rest day! :p

Ronne, sounds like you had a lovely time with your GF (aren't they the best?). You exercised your legs and wallet. :p

Jody, be careful with that knee. I have a twingy one, and it has been surprisingly fine over the summer and then after running, bam, it's bothering me again. So don't run for heaven's sake! Depending on how bad it is, maybe do STS and keep the legs but go lighter and be careful. Don't try to be a hero. Heck, I think the fact we are doing exercising is more than 90% of the people are doing. I like to do kickboxing when I want less impact. If I really need less impact I'll do stationary bike (but that is a last resort for me).

Roxie, glad you got the roof all done, one less thing off the plate!

Mary, how's the hip doing? Any more excitement with the kiddos?

Finally! I am here! Did STS TB today, the compound one. Lisa, sounds like you need a rest day after that hike! Do your feet hurt. 13 miles is a long walk/hike! Roxie, do you like your roof? I know I wouldn't like the bill! Jody, Lisa is right, be careful with that knee. What about walking? That might be easier on your knees. What about some Leslie? You could do it with a weighted vest to make it harder. Murphy, where are you? Ronne, I might have to finally break down and order that DVD. Then maybe it would make the new ones come faster? Well, Biggest Loser is on, the kids and I like to watch it together! Talk to you tomorrow! Mary

Good Evening,

Tonite I did SS #17 LB, TJ Standing Abs and 30 Pushups. I haven't been feeling very well today had a headache and my stomach has been upset. I think the boss is finally going to get out of the hospital tomarrow and gets some billing done.

Mary-insurance is paying for part of the roof and I live in a duplex so they have to pay for some of it but I know the bill is still going to be high. I like not having any leaks.

Hi all

Jody - it's boring, boring, boring but you've got to rest your knees! Lisa's KB suggestion is a good idea. Perhaps something like MMA Boxing or KB (leaving out the lower body drills in boxing). It sounds like the new series is just what you need!

Lisa - love the deer pics! We saw one (!) when we went to that country house hotel recently. How are the legs today?

Mary - I'm just assuming it's going to be October before we see the new DVDs. I'm trying not to think about them cos I'll have to wait another week or two after you lot anyway.

Roxie - woohoo! the roof's done! Hope your boss gets back on the case soon.

Went to the dentist this morning for a checkup and needed a filling replaced! Worked out when I got back, 4DS KB cardio only with push-ups. Then tried to eat lunch but the anaesthetic still hasn't worn off. I still can't eat. Bought some lunch while I was in town and it's just staring at me!! Hope this wears off soon :(

Hey everyone. I figured I should get back to checking in even though I am feel like I am not "really" working out. The basement does have mold in a small area (not even one square foot) and that is keeping me from exercising like I want. The Wii is just not doing it for me anymore. The area is way too small and mentally I am just not there. On the upside, the sunroom repairs should be done soon (from the leaks) which means I can get all of that stuff out of the house and back in there. That will give me a smidgen of more space which will help. I might do some of the Just Dance stuff to keep things mixed up. ????? Anyway, all of you have to keep up with the exercising so I can stay focused.

Murphy

Good Morning,

We did not go for a walk this morning DD has the day off and she thought we both needed to sleep in which she is right I feel better this morning but still dizzy. Tonite is suppose to be Imax 2 Blast but I am going to do KCMs Plyo Blast instead.

Murphy-hopefully you will get stuff back together and then get back to working out.
