40's - Week of 6/3/12

I did not see a thread ....

Yesterday was Athletic Training and today was AfterBurn. I skipped some of the burpees but managed the rest. During the workout I started wondering what the new dvd's would be like - if she is taking it to the next level. She kicked my butt with the old ones, I guess I will have actual dents and bruises with the new ones! :) Hi to all!

Did STS disc 4 today CH/Bi/Sh. I have some hammie and upper glute DOMS from yesterday's STS disc 3 legs. I remember her saying one exercise (can't remember which one) was good for upper glute, I was thinking wow, I'm really getting through this relatively easily, that is until I tried to walk today :) Thank goodness for the new toilet that is higher :)

Murphy, I've been grumbling at Cathe lately :)

Roxie, I'm getting super excited about climbing those 14,000 ft mountains this summer! On Wed, we are aiming for a 6.5 mile hike but with a 2800ft elevation change. I think that's more than what we normally do for a 14er, but at least this is only at 9,000ft elevation, that helps. Will see if I survive.

Can someone talk me off the ledge? I have 9 instrux bellydance dvds in my cart (~95$), all for the sake of putting new combos together, getting some different styling techniques and even some tribal which is very stretchy isolationy very nearly Yoga-y imo and after all shouldn't I be stretching?
Between vet bill and gas expenses (running dd for community service hours) and craigs list +Ikea- this is a bad month for random extra expenditures.
But I waaaaannnnnntt.

Mary, how are all the grad parties? Getting enough cake? Its funny, through FB, I've been seeing the majority of my oldest dd infant-->toddler playgroup buddies HS graduation pics. Some of these moms I met while doing a post partum step class offered at the hospital. Sometimes I put dd in sling in hip carry during class. : 0

Murphy, I think the new workouts are going to be very versatile with all the pm. Nice to see you!

Roxie, I bet if you didn't have a "cathe" base, your pt wouldn't be able to push you as hard. I'm sorry if the scale is being mean to you, but I bet you are looking fantastic. : )

Lisa, good job on the walk, I'm glad it turned out nicely! What is on tap today?

How long is Ronne gone? I bet holiday spot is beautiful.

Hi girls! Gonna do some yoga later. Jody, cake wasn't too good last night, the frosting was a little too full of crisco! $10 a DVD? Sounds like a bargain to me! I'm not a good one to talk to, I am a shopper! Lisa, enjoy your hike, I bet they are hard in that elevation. Murphy, glad to see you back, we missed you! Roxie, are you sore at all? I need to back off the running, hip is a little irritated with me! I wonder how long Ronne will be gone? We leave on Wednesday, I am excited to see if the kids will be excited! Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday! We are moving slow today! Mary

here's 1 of the projects I've been working on. I made a pillow for my new daughter in laws birthday. the reason for the green shoe is that she wore green sparkly shoes with her wedding gown. you might have to stand on your head I think it's pasting upside down

jody, what did you decide? Did you back away from the computer and cart? Too easy to spend online! Not sure what we are doing today, depends if we get rain or just windy and clouds like yesterday (we should get one of those 2).

Mary, so since the cake wasn't that good you didn't have much, right? :)

Lisa, CUTE! I am craft impaired. Not too good in the kitchen, either. Good thing I have other feminine skills. ; )
I removed the tribal dvds since I have a good one I've never done. That leaves 7 (70 bucks out the door). But, I'm taking classes this month so my total dance expenditures will be up there.
I've not been paid for any of the Thurs dance classes I teach on Thurs. That would help. Money goes to the primary teacher who got the contract and she pays me at the end of the session- which she hasn't done b/c of...??? she changed addy/moving mixup I think.

OK, I just got 3. Really they are for helping me teach as much as anything. If I actually use them and create fun and interesting combos to present in class then I give myself permission to get more. If not, at least I'm only out the 30.

good restraint Jody! I'm not much good in the kitchen besides baking and you know where too make baking gets you! Hmmmm, now what other feminine skills could you be referring to? ;) I like to say the reason I'm a bit messy is because of my creative side. In fact it looks like someone threw up fabric in my sewing room, I have a lot pulled out trying to find the perfect one, I hate cleaning up after myself. Mary, where are you? Can you organize my sewing room?

2 mile walk with dh. It was a bit warm, no breeze, but cloudy. On the plus side, I got to rinse off in my shower!

Good Morning,

I didn't do any workouts yesterday and I didn't want to get up this morning so tonite besides PT I am going to do the elliptical.

Lisa-love the pillow.

Jody-good job showing restraint.

Murphy-welcome back and that was a good workout.

Mary-after the bike ride I couldn't hardly walk my legs were fried.

Hi girls! Did PH today, no yoga yesterday, no excuse either! Lisa, what a great gift! I bet she will cherish that! For free room and board I will come organize anything you want! Roxie, you are going to the trainer and doing the elliptical? Are you punishing yourself for something? Jody, you have lots of talents! Dancing?! I would be th first one voted off any dancing show. I could be on Hoarders, the cleaning up person! Hi Murphy! Today will be errands, trying to enjoy my last few days of quiet before the kids are with me 24/7! Have a good day! Mary

Did MMA KB today. Nice and easy.

Roxie, My hammies are still sore from STS, therefore I didn't walk as fast last night.

Mary, sure, come on over! I have a bed, but be forewarned, it's a mess! Just so you know I'm pretty hard on myself, I dont' want you all thinking I live in a pig stye! Oh, and you must hike with me too! lol

Gotta run, work calls, sigh, can't wait for Wed when I'm off and hiking!

I did standing LBB today, first time. I did firewalkers for part of the lunges toward the end. There is a big gap in my static lunge ability and what Cathe does but I go to exhaustion and move on.

Mary, when are you guys leaving? I bet the kids will be thrilled. (I'm drinking from my Cedar Point coffee mug this morning). Oh and I forgot, i like Top Thrill Dragster, too. Have fun!
LOL, one morning when I went w/ my bf, we stayed on site and were in line waiting for the ropes to drop, prepped to run to our first ride of the trip. I wasn't feeling well from green tea and I literally had to run off and throw up behind a bush and scamper back to line then we ran to our ride and got on the first car. Victorious.

Roxie, I was thinking the same thing as Mary, make yesterday a deserved rest day and don't double dip on your workouts tonight! I might do a big bike ride to beach next weekend and meet a new guy.

Lisa, I also want to hike w/ you. Waves to all

Hi all,

I'm new here and new to Cathe. I don't know why it took me so long to find these wonderful workouts, but my daughter are sure enjoying them! I bought a mixed bunch of the downloads with the coupons last month and am just working my way through. We got the LIS set, STS Ab Circuits and some low impact cardio and beginner workouts. Today we did Basic Step just to get the hang of things and the bonus Medicine ball with partner workout which was so much fun we were laughing through most of it.

Anyway, I'm glad to find this group, as I'm 45 and love the inspiration I get from other 40+ers who are fit and strong!

Becky

Jody, those lunges at the end are KILLER!

Welcome Becky! This is a great group! Glad you found Cathe and us!

Becky-welcome to the group.

Jody-its not punishment we are only going to foam roll and discuss my diet and make some tweaks to see if it helps, and I really need the cardio to help burn off the margarittas and beer I had this weekend.

Today I did an upper body premix from HR. I was supposed to do HIS from 4DS (June rotation), but you know how I feel about stepping. I decided instead to skip the step and just to the weights and instead of the rest day, to do (or try to do) a HiiT workout. If I was not so lazy getting up this morning I could have done the HiiT and the weights but I decided to just lay in bed.

Becky - welcome to the group.

hee hee, I bet beer and margaritas will not be in the diet plan Roxie! I plan to partake in both Wed during/after my hike. Hmmmm, did I mention the chocolate this weekend. bad Lisa!

Becky, where are you at? I'm in CO. I'm still 47 and NOT the oldest of the group (but close).

I am with you working off the beer! Wish I didn't like it so much! Anyway, welcome Becky! Lisa, who's the oldest! I know it's not me! Roxie, foam rolling sounds better than the usual torture she gives you! Tho, I have heard that does have a sting to it! Murphy, don't blame you for skipping HIS,I have never been able to master that one! Mary

hee hee, I think that dubious distinction goes to Jody or Roxie, probably Jody? Mary, I know you just always know as long as I'm around then you have someone a month older than you1
