40's - Week of 6/3/12

Yep I'm less than a year away from getting kicked out of the group.
Welcome Becky!
Lisa, I was thinking it would be so funny if Jai just threw down her BB and walked off the set around the 3rd gob of low ends.
: >
Roxie, OK, so some TLC to go with the cardio. good. : )
My bad cals are from wine. and sugar. and fat. and white stuff. : P
I will probably skip dance tonight in the spirit of fiscal responsibility so good thing I did LBB this morn.
Becky, how old is your dd who works out with you? My 16 yr old tried step one day when I wasn't around, she was disturbed that it was difficult. I guess I make it look easy. : )
Murphy, good for you, at least you got your workout in.

I was feeling bad about goofing off this morning so I did the 30/30 Hiit. I had to jump up and do it before I talked myself out of it. It wasn't too bad. My littlest assistant was therer but I managed to work around her. The little ones are into doing flips on the power tower as if it was the gymnastics bar thing. DH cannot understand why I don't want them on it. (&(^*(^*%&^%*&%

Nighty night all.

Murphy

Thank you for all the welcomes! We are in Virginia, but we've lived all over as hubby used to be military. My daughter is 15 -- we've been working out together since she turned 13, and she is the best workout partner! She is my middle child and I'm so happy to have this special activity with just her.

Good Evening,

PT didn't go easy on my tonite she kicked my butt again and because of TTOM and hot flash she could tell I didn't have enough energy to do more then 2 rounds and I also didn't do the cardio.

Lisa-I actually don't turn 47 until Sept. 1st. and she didn't take my margarittas away from me because I am not eating enough.

Becky-I am in Kansas don't know if your husband has ever been stationed in Fort Riley but I only live 15mins from there.

Jody-I listened to you and my body and took it easy.

Murphy-good job with your workout today.

Roxie, for some reason I figured since you're gonna be a g-ma I thought you were older. My bad! How are you not eating enough? I guess I just like my food too much.

Murphy, I bow to you getting that w/o in! Can't that Power Tower flip easily doing gymnastics on it?

Becky, what fun having a w/o buddy!

Jody, you don't look like you're eating that many bad calories! Guess you get to wear the crown and we won't kick you out, you're too much fun having around!

So guess it goes: Jody, Lisa, Mary, Roxie, Becky, Ronne, Murphy (not sure about the last 3), I know Murphy wasn't even 40 when she joined the group years ago, gosh how many years have we been "together"?

Hey, look at me, I'm replying to my own post! I did STS Disc 5 (Back/Tri), tomorrow I'll be off hiking so won't be checking in. mary, I think you leave tomorrow, have a good trip!

I am a bit sore today so I am going to take it easy and go for a leisure walk or a not-so-power walk. My lower body is sore. I have been trying to really focus and stick it out and OMG, I am feeling it. Ouch.

Lisa - that's right, I was 39 when I joined the group. I will be 43 this August. Wow, time flies. The tower doesn't flip over. Depending on what they do it may lift in one corner, but I have thick floor mats covering the base of it and it helps to keep it down - a bit.

Roxie - I am eating your calories, I will give them back to you.

Jody - I agree, you don't look like you are eating too many calories. If I knew how to post pictures and would dare to post pictures, I would show you what eating too many calories really looks like! :)

Becky - has DH ever been stationed in NJ?

Waves to Mary and Ronne. BTW, where did Ronne go this time?

did someone say pictures? Here's a picture of my sewing room currently, talk about chaotic!!! I love being in full on creative mode. Time to pull out more fabrics!

Good Afternoon,

I have had a busy morning. DD came to my work wanting to borrow my car and she is starting to look pregnant cute. This morning I walked on the TM and tonite I will go to the gym and do the elliptical.

Lisa-I eat alot of low calorie food and with my workouts I burn alot of calories barely maxing 1400 cals a day and like today I have been to busy to eat a snack after my cereal bar this morning and lunch is just a sandwich. I am cross stitching a baby blanket with Noahs Ark on it and its amazing after not doing any of that for a couple of years how hard it is to thread a damn needle.

Murphy-thats ok you can keep the calories.

Hello all!

We tried our first LIS workout today -- the upper body portion of TriSets, which was a lot of fun, but oh, so many pushups! I have a feeling I'd better get used to them, heh heh. I just came off an Ultimate Yogi rotation, which helped strengthen my shoulders a lot, but those dive-bombers, eek! Then we did Basic Step again. I need to get a regular-sized step though -- mine is a wooden bench that is 14 inches high, and it's too high for this workout. I got it years and years ago from The Firm, I think.

I'm also wondering what I'll do when I get to all those barbell exercises. I only have dumbbells, but they are the kind that adjust from 5-52.5 pounds each, so I have plenty of weight. Can I just use heavy dumbbells for the barbell exercises? Otherwise I'll have to do those at the gym because I don't have room for 2 barbell setups.

Thanks for any advice!

Becky

Becky - I say use what you have. I have both dumbells and a barbell, and I often just grab the dumbells. Cathe won't mind and we won't tell her. ;-) Just my two cents.

Awe, pregnant cute! Roxie, lol at needle threading. I'm getting used to having my reading glasses on my face most of the time (although when I take them off to walk in the other room, I come back and can't remember where they are, grrrr, sigh). Tired of taking them off or looking over the top to walk or pick out fabric, I'm soooo going to get me bifocals with plain glass for distance and lower for reading. They'll come in handy for shopping too!

Lisa-I am still trying to get bifocal contacts to work 7th set is on order and they will be upper distance lower reading.

becky, I don't do dive bomber pushups. And sometimes I substitute the bench press for a push up. Shhh, Don't tell cathe!!!

Lisa, buy cheapie readers and leave them all over the house (including bathroom next to the tweezers), car and purse.

Roxie, I have one eye corrected for distance and the other undercorrected, which allows me to read most stuff. They have bifocal contacts? Seeing baby bump must make it all real and exciting!

Becky, i can't do many (any?) dive bombers. I think I could do some if that was all I was doing, but not a series of them in the middle of a workout. Are you near Roanoke? I've spent some time there w/ my inbetweenie sorta sometimes boy friend. I like it there. I live in FL. My teens are 18 and 16. I agree, you can use your dbs indefinitely.

Murphy, Lisa had to talk me thru posting pics (by the way Lisa, it looks like the lab of a mad crafting and sewing scientist ) Notice I didn't post any pics that were very clear, but I hope to feel proud of results and will do so then, soon (or at least eventually, lol)

I hope Ronne is having a great time and great weather. I didn't look up the location, was it seashore? i'm happy that they get these fun family adventures.

Oh, and on a negative note....complaint for the day: sitting through a traffic light cycle an extra time (nearly 5 min!) as a result of access to turn lane being blocked by clueless dumbass in front of me who left 2 whole car lengths between her and car in front of her! ARAARGH!!

Hi girls! You all have been so busy! I did LiCH, premix 5 and YR, needed some stretching! Now, I have to figure out where to start? Lisa, your embroidery looks amazing! Will that be a full sized quilt? Where do I order one? Have fun on your hike! Becky, I have a barbell, very lazy, just use my dumbells! So, I don't know if I would invest in one again actually. Invest in a step tho! Especially if you guys like step, I got mine at a garage sale for $5! Murphy, I googles where Ronne was going, the Isle of Skye in Scotland, looked beautiful! Roxie, maybe you need to eat more? Maybe your body is holding on to the food you do eat because it's afraid it won't get any more? Can you feel the baby moving yet? Jody, I hate driving with other people on the road! Have to get dinner! Have a good evening! Mary

Jody, you create belly dances, I create crafty items :) Some drivers! Be glad you don't have snow! The first snowstorm everyone seems to forget how to drive in snow over the summer!

Mary, It's going to be a 30"x30" wall hanging for the new Master Bathroom. I have a LOT of wall up high that I'm trying to fill in (used to have a wallpaper border up there). Really, there are a lot more mistakes up close so not sure you'd want to order one :)

Good Evening,

Tonite I went to the gym and did the elliptical.

Lisa-love the quilt it will be beautiful when its done and who cares about the mistakes.

Mary & Lisa-I managed to eat 1288 calories today so thats better then yesterday. No I haven't felt the baby but DD says it moves alot.

Jody-yes they now have bifocal contacts.

Girls, I just have to come here and vent. yoshi's pain may be a bit less, but she is still not moving much and maybe not even drinking very much, but yet peeing in the wrong place still as it's obvious she's lost. She went under the dining table, and I grabbed her and put her in the litter box just a few feet away. I think she's been messing under there. Talked to DS23 who knows someone who worked at a vet's office, I'm having DH call for an appt when he is back on Friday to schedule to put her to sleep. For now I'll lock her up in the downstairs bedroom so she can't mess the whole house up. I feel bad wanting this to be over.
