40's Super-Fit in September

I'm back, I did KCM Weights #2 that had some abs and upper body. I might do KCM BC later, depending on my flow. Murphy/Roxie, I was wondering the same thing about the planks. Murphy, good job on the w/o and getting past distractions.
 
Hi all, rough couple of days. Haven't worked out since Thursday. Friday night woke up with terrible pain in mouth, thought it was a canker sore gone bad! Was able to get emergency dentist appointment Saturday morning. Turns out I have an accessed tooth, could have been fixed in July when I went for my cleaning. They said all was good at time, turns out they missed it on the X-ray. They put a hole in the tooth until I can get a root canal on Monday. I'm on antibiotics, face is swollen and throbbing. I have been miserable. I'm so looking forward to the root canal! Lol! I'm sorry no personals, hope all is well with everyone else! Mary

DH and I spent the day at the lake so haven't worked out yet I will do my planks though.

Murphy/Jody-I don't really know what you mean by rec but I just do my 3 1 minute planks everyday usually after whatever workout I did most of the time in the evening or at work. A para is like a teacher's assitant and there is quite the test that has to be taken before you can do it.

Lisa-I agree they just did what I couldn't bring myself to do they let me go.

Mary - I'm so sorry, you poor thing, that sounds awful. Hope it all goes well today and you're pain free soon.

Jody - wow, you have been working hard. Well done for getting some workouts in as well :). We're thinking of blue for the bedroom, a very dark blue on one wall with the rest lighter. I think it will go with the furniture. I'm going to be lazy though and pay someone to do it!

Murphy - that's a tough workout, I'd have been glad of the interruption! :p

Lisa - that's a mean premix, I would never choose that on purpose! :D Glad to hear the shoulder seems to be doing OK.

MM done today, rest day yesterday and Hiit DP with no equipment abs on Sat.
A few jobs are starting to come in so it looks like work is going to pick up.

I did Cardio & Weights minus the abs I forgot how tough this one its feeling it everywhere. I have and application for the school system here in town they do not require taking a test.

Mary-how are you feeling today?

Ronne-that is a tough workout haven't done it in awhile.
 
Yesterday I took a rest day (but did walk the dogs 2.6 miles), my body just felt tired so I wisely decided to rest and make sure to reduce my calories for the day! Today I did 60 mins of spinning and 3 mile dog walk. I'm getting to the point where I can do even more resistance on the spin bike, in fact today's workout was mostly hills.

Ronne, well, my shoulder pain reared it's ugly head. I got my old TENS unit from my sis since I'm still waiting on my new one. Not sure if it helped (hence why I'm buying one recommended by the massage therapist). Today the muscles just feel sore. I'm not surprised that the shoulder pain came back as I've been doing things that can trigger it to see how far I can push it at the road trip as long as I keep my neck warm-ish. I will never make the mistake of picking that premix on AB again! Sounds like you are getting in some good workouts too!

Mary, you poor thing! Why didn't they find it on xray previously? Hope you are feeling better soon!

Roxie, What workout of Cathe's isn't tough? :) each is unique in their own way...I know I stay away from C&W for a reason!

Jody, I know that commercial you are talking about and I can't (nor can DH) remember what the product is! Good job getting in some workouts! KCM is a good bet when short on time! When will you be making the decision about what job you want to pursue?

Murphy, I'm sadly lacking in doing core work, I can't find too much that doesn't trigger some kind of icky feeling afterward. Awe, you will miss those assistants when they hit the teenage years and hang out in their room! :)
 
Hi all, root canal done. Thank goodness. Still no work out, face still swollen and hurts. Dr said should feel better by Thursday. Hope all is well with all, will catch up tomorrow. Mary

Is it tough to eat too? Drat that this may have been avoided, best wishes with pain management.

Ronne, what style furniture? I'd like bedroom furniture, too. My room is a fengshui (sp) DON'T. Boxes, clutter, no head board...

Roxie, good luck in search. Is there some sort of script or list you can give the bosses so you can remind them of your qualities in case you want to use them as a reference? Sort of like, goodbye, good luck, don't forget I'm (insert your good qualities and job skills). I like the step in cw, the abs in cw, but don't usually do the work out as designed.

Lisa it's too close to rt to be testing limits, just plan on modifying if needed. Lol, I'll be in the back side stepping. (I'm thinking about wearing a hotel uniform to the work outs. )

Murphy, hi. Have you considered a gym? It might give you some"me time" that u deserve. There is a crunch fitness ive considered near me.

My lower body was still hurting from kcm ss. I'm going back to eye doc this aft. I may not be back till sat. I doubt I'll work out this week. : (
 
Hi girls! Today actually worked out! Did XT legs, no jumping or anything in that one. Feel better, still hurts a bit tho. Jody, in a hotel uniform! Haha! I would come down to see that! Have you decided on that position yet? Ronne, funny about you being in charge tonite! I'm usually in charge, except for the tv remote! Roxie, now will you be able to find a job closer to home? Might be a blessing? Lisa,how are you feeling? Any better today? My old dentist retired, good thing! Apparently he can't see! I'm am annoyed, now it's fixed at least. Maybe I should have the new dentist take a look at the X-rays to see if anything else was missed? Are we going to have to change the name of out group now that half the group is out of their 40's? No special plans for tomorrow, just work! Maybe the weekend? Have a good day! Mary
 
Took a longer walk than I originally expected to so I only did 30/30. The walk was 4.33 miles and DH went too.

Mary, sounds like your old dentist should have retired sooner! I just hate finding new doctor when a beloved old one leaves (sounds like it was his time to go though!). Good job on XT Legs, I keep wanting to do that one, but alas, other things catch my attention, like spinning, I can't believe I'm so into that! After spinning my legs are fried, and today it's the glutes with all the hills I did yesterday. My neck to shoulder muscle is a little sore still, it's loosening up as the day goes on.

Jody, I figure I'll stop all UB work 1 week before RT, and hard workouts 2-3 days before RT.... I'll do walking or Pilates so my body is fresh. Have to treat this old bod carefully. Speaking of old, as Mary pointed out , in a couple days after her birthday this group will be 50% of us 50 or over! Oh, and modifications at RT will be a must do for me, there is no 'if needed' thinking on my part.

Ronne, I love the music in that workout too, that's one reason why I will pick that one! Music makes all the difference!

Mary-it is a blessing and yes I am going to find a job closer to home driving has gotten old.

Jody-I don't think it will be a problem with them giving me a bad reference.

Lisa-I like the step in C&W alot but the wt work is tough.

Roxie - good luck with the job hunt.

Lisa - I don't particularly notice music unless it's good. There are a couple of bits of workouts that I love because of the music, one of them is the warm-up in AOLIH. Sounds like you've got a good 'tapering' plan for the RT.

Jody - the colour is 'chocolate washed oak' with bronze handles. Our room is pretty tidy actually (oh, if you ignore the stack of CDs which stands in for a bedside table on one side, oh and the small set of drawers we bought in 1998 that we meant to varnish/paint and never did!!) We've been in this house for 10 years and our bedroom has never even been painted.

Did Intensity today - I did the hiit and bootcamp premix as I just didn't want to do the step.
Actually got out of the house for a meeting. Made a nice change!
I watched The Matrix last night, haven't seen it for years. Absolutely loved it, god, Keanu Reeves is gorgeous!!!
 
Did a Ride premix and yesterday was Hiit DWP. I had to switch up the rotation but I hope to get back on schedule for the rest of it.

Mary - Happy Birthday. I hope you are all healed/better now.
Roxie - How is teh search coming?
Lisa - when is the RT? Bring something for Cahte and gang to sign. I brought a dvd cover/insert and she signed it for me. I bought a shirt there and all the cast that was there signed it.

I did KCM's Home Gym Intervals plus the core work and it was tough.

Murphy-not much on the job hunt. Good job on your workout my sister-in-law offered me the use of her spin bike until she has her hip surgery so I it needs to stop raining so I can get it from her.

Mary-Happy Birthday how are you feeling today.
 
Today my workout plan was totally messed up :mad:, I did walk dogs and DH for 2.6 miles, then later I did GS Back/Shoulder ( I did GS Bi yesterday which I failed to report... still breaking up portions of UB). My shoulder/back and shoulder/neck muscle isn't as sore, I think I overdid it on the TENS unit :eek: I was like, look how high I can turn it up before it "hurts" (I had one up to a 10 and one a 7, whereas right after surgery I had it to a 2), geez, I'll never learn not to just jump in with both feet! I kept it to 30 min like the massage lady said, but she didn't warn me about the strength of it :p. OK, quit your laughing now!

Roxie, have you seen my posts about studiosweatondemand.com and spinning? I love those workouts. There is a free you tube spinning workout they have in a part1 and 2 that I posted the link for previously.

Murphy, the Daytona Beach RT is Columbus day, Jody is going with me.

Ronne, those colors sound lovely! I love so many colors I seem to never be able to limit myself to just a couple per room, hence Hodge lodge look?

Did MM in its entirety today. I forgot it is over an hour long. It worked out today because DH and the kids are off for Rosh Hashanah (sp?). I upped in most areas so I am happy about that.

Mary - glad you are feeling better.
Roxie - I hope the weather improves - at least long enough for you to get the bike.

Hi everyone

Mary - hope you get some birthday fun at the weekend. I saw that Keanu turned 50 this month as well.

Murphy - well done on the workout. The only reason I'm managing this rotation is that work is quiet at the moment, otherwise I wouldn't be able to spare an hour a day.

Lisa - that's a really good idea, breaking up the UB. I don't know how you manage to keep track of everyone's birthday and their age. I know Murphy's the baby and you're the eldest but that's about it.

L&G today. It went quickly.
Have to share some very exciting news, I've just booked our flights for next year's big trip. We're going to Australia for a month!! :D We're doing Melbourne, Darwin, Cairns & Sydney. It's not for absolutely ages, but the prices are good in advance so it's worth it. I can't believe that we're actually going to go.
