40's Super-Fit in September

Back on my normal schedule (I get discombobulated when I get off schedule! Wow, that sounds old!). Anyway I walked 2.3 miles with the dogs, then came back and did 60 min of spinning and vacuuming.

Ronne, I don't have that great of a memory! Facebook reminded me about Mary's birthday! And, ahem, Jody is the oldest and I keep forgetting how much older she is than me.

Murphy, great job on MM! That is quite the accomplishment!

Mary, buggers (I think I got that word from some book set in England?) on a cold! So you didn't have any big 5-0 birthday plans?

Hi girls! Today did Tonya Larson, pump something! Birthday was nice, we went out to dinner, Olive Garden, my parents stopped by, then had to go pick up DD from band practice. The drum line played a song for me, I was balling! Ronne, AUSTRALIA? FOR A MONTH???? That is awesome! Now, I can't remember what anyone else wrote! Dang it! Ha, memory is first to go! Lol! I can't look back when I'm on Cathe's app! At least that is my excuse! Hope all is well with everyone else, have to get dinner going! I'll be back Saturday! Mary

Did the first 1/2 of Intensity and then switched to the low hiit and added abs. My legs were just not in it today. I really feel like they need a rest. I was planning to work them tomorrow but I may have to make tomorrow a rest day or do UB. I think I just talked myself into UB work tomorrow. I have been pretty good with staying active and I want to continue that trend.

Ronne - I am so jealous. That sounds wonderful!
Mary - glad you had a nice birthday. The band played a song for you - I would be balling too. That must have been beyond nice.

Hi-fives to everyone,
Murphy

Hi everyone

Murphy - well done on Intensity, that step section is too much for me!

Mary - sounds like a nice birthday.

Lisa - I'm sorry!! Don't know where I got that idea from. So did Jody's big birthday come and go and I missed it or is it a secret?!! Is it just me and Murphy still in our 40s? Might be time for a name change - how about Gen X or Born in the 60s (if Murphy is!)?

Quick post today as I've got a lot of work to do (hooray). Got Tabatacize done - I was going to do 1-4 but felt good so went for the lot. Then cooled down with yoga abs from Ab circuits.
No plans for the weekend, just take it easy, maybe get out for a walk. I'm off to the hairdresser's this afternoon, get all this grey covered up!

I'm feeling so accomplished, I did GS Legs! First time in 2 yrs and I almost matched weights with Cathe... It was a bit hard getting the barbell over my head with 35 pounds, and the deadlifts I only used 25 pounds because I didn't want to weight to pull on my shoulders (hope that makes sense). Also walked the dogs 2.5 miles.

Ronne, I don't remember Jody ever disclosing her true age, I just know she's at least a year older than me! Facebook doesn't have her birthday. Gen X won't work for us 50+ as since we were born in 1964 (or earlier for Jody) we are still part of the baby boomer generation. We could be the Hipsters since we grew up in the hippie generation? Good job on doing all of tabatacize!

Waves to everyone else, pressed for time!

Good Evening,

I turned 49 at the beginning of the month. I did Cathe's original LIS before work then took my laptop to do KCM's KBX 1 and planks.

Good Morning,

I did a 2.31 Run/Walk in the park this morning walked laps 1,3,&6 Ran 2,4,&5 and last 1/4 of 6 my legs are killing me. I will do planks later.

Hello! Today did TB, yesterday Atletica. So beautiful here today, it's perfect! Roxie, good job on your workouts. Is this the last week of work for you coming up? Jody, have you gotten a day off yet? You must be exhausted! Lisa, how do you feel after GS legs? Neck and back ok? Ronne, I know you are having fun somewhere! Football was beautiful last night. Tooth is much better, this cold is making me crazy tho! Hate being congested! Hope everyone has a great day! Mary

2.25 dog walk, then S&G cardio only but wasn't feeling it so stopped after 20 min (it's 30 min long). GS Bi and GS Tri.

Mary, I have a couple twinges in my back where I think the muscle was over exhausted too much, getting ready to put hot rice on it. I think it was the deadlifts --- you'd never think you use the muscles between the shoulder blades so much would you? It's a bit toooooo hot here today, we are going out for dinner. DS is in town and everyone is free (even DIL and the GF) so thought it would be nice to go out since DS may not make it back here for the rest of the year because his company has said no one can take their vacation this year because they need to get the project done by year end.

Ronne, I don't think I said it but WOW what a vacation, no wonder you are excited. If you ever don't want to be an editor I bet you could work as a private travel planner :)

Did they say the website was going to change? I know I skip a lot of things but how did I miss this? Anyway, I did HR UB yesterday to give legs a break. Legs feel better this morning. I did Tabatacise today. I could not channel Ronne - my legs got stuff after the first one, the second one was okay and the third one got tough. My youngest assistant came down during the fourth and I was going to stop because I was half-as$8#@ through the program but the fourth one came on and it was stuff I could do so I went for it. I then tried to add the yoga abs but my assistant came back and I was really just going through the motions so I stopped after 10 minutes. It was not a complete waste of time, but I won't record "full credit" for it.

Ronne - Great job on Tabatacise, that is a hard one.
Lisa - good job on the workout.
Roxie - good job on the workout too.
Mary - feel better soon.
Jody - hi-five's if you are lurking.

Murphy

Hi, I'm back and wearing cheaters in order to read the forums this morning. I worked a lot this week and yesterday I mostly recovered except an hour walk while my car was getting serviced. I also shopped a bit for RT but I was still pooped and didn't get to really work the sales rack like I wanted.

Murphy, good luck w/ all of tabata! Which cover did you choose for Cathe to sign? I'll have to resist bringing my entire collection. : )

Lisa, we can't be hipsters, that is a term for some of the youngsters these days. Ex my dtr wears hipster glasses. And I think we are too young to be old hippies. Maybe the Classics? lol! Or we can be like Prince and be the Checkin Formerly Known as 40s. Or we can choose not to define our check in by age~~

Mary, I missed your BD, happy happy! I watched Amazing Race, was this the season you almost got to try out for?

Roxie, running hurts my hip flexor area when I haven't done it in awhile. I hope your legs feel better. My feet and hip front hurt yesterday w/ my walk.

Ronne, I'm so happy for your trip! How do you decide where to go? Does the good deal pull you in or do you have a bucket list of places to go or is it what you want to experience while on holiday? I want to travel as well, I need to manifest such an adventure. Let us know how the room turns out. It sounds pretty.

Hello! The new forums look so nice! I'm gonna have to get used to it! Today took the dogs for a walk in the valley, lots of hills and stairs, they are tired! Lisa & Jofy, the road trip is coming quick! How excited are you getting? Haha! I would love to see Cathe's face if you dropped your whole collection in front of her to sign! Murphy, sounds like you did a great job with Tabatacize! I will have to pull that one out again. Roxie, how are you feeling? Hi Ronne! Well, going to watch some football and read, talk to you tomorrow! Mary

Good Evening,

Not quite sure I like the new website. DH and I went to the lake day perfect day for it.

Ronne-they made the announcement about the website in the open discussion a couple of days ago.

Mary-yes I work Monday and Tuesday and then I am done.

A pretty lazy day today, we went out and ate last night, had 2 drinks and a dessert, oh my! My knot in my shoulder blade was driving me crazy but the liquor helped, then woke up at 1am with hangover (I'm a light weight) and my knot hurting, popped 2 Advil and a Valium. It's still pestering me today :( I did walk the dogs 1.75 miles and did 20 min of jumping on the Pilates reformer. My legs are pooped, my UB is in knots so I was due my semi rest day, I won't get my 10K steps in either!

Jody, I always wear cheaters to read anything! What all did you buy for the RT?

Mary, I was able to pick your DD easily out of that video, DS not so much as there was none looking bald like your DH :)

Murphy, hey, you tried, I've kind of had the same experience this weekend.

Hi everyone

I like the new look, much more up-to-date.

Lisa - like Jody says we can't call ourselves Hipsters (young men with beards and interesting glasses doing trendy jobs in east London!). I quite like the check-in formerly known as ... or we could call ourselves squiggle or symbol (another Prince reference). Sounds like you had a nice time with the family. It's funny what you said about the travel planner, when I planned our trip to Poland earlier this year, DH was pushing me to think about doing something like that. This time round though I have been to a travel agent to book the flights rather than doing them online.

Roxie - nice to be able to still get to the lake. Hope your last couple of days go well.

Mary - sounds like a nice weekend for you. Hope the cold clears up soon.

Jody - good to see you. What are cheaters? I've always wanted to go to Australia, meant to go in my 20s but never made it. We've got some money set aside that has just come through, so what better thing to spend it on?! :) We've got friends in Melbourne who we're going to stay with then we put the itinerary together with their help. We've just booked flights at the moment, nothing else.

Murphy - however much you do of Tabatacise it still counts!

I finished the rotation on Saturday with Supersets (subbing for STS full body). Took a day off yesterday. The weather was lovely here, so we went for a 3.5 mile walk.
Planning to do 10 10 10, just the cardio today as I've got quite a lot of work to get through.

Lisa, I got one sports bra and two tanks. I'm not sure what all I need to gather/go get.
Ronne, will you get to new zealand too? My Brit friend here just went w/ her bestie and they stayed in hostels and had a wonderful time/amazing pics, etc. But that is really a whole other trip I guess.
My dd said hipsters = people who take artistic pictures of coffee and wear mens glasses from the 70s. lol.
bbl w/ a workout
ps cheaters are the little (in my case cheapy dollar store) reading glasses. I'm trying different types of contacts out, trying to minimize my use of them but the font is a little small or maybe the contrast is not as strong as before. I don't need the cheaters this morning w/ this set of contacts.

Good morning! Today did Cathe live, it was Thursday's workout, total body sculpt, I think! Ronne, what amazing memories for DD! Australia looks so beautiful, our youngest wants to go desperately! Maybe I'll send him with you? Cheaters are reading glasses. Jody, are you getting a few days off? Did you take the full time job? Lisa, yes DD got my hair! DS was taking the video so no pics of him! How are you feeling? Roxie, a short work week is nice. Have you found anything you are interested in? Not much today, errands, running kids around, back to work tomorrow. Have a good day! Mary

Mary, I didn't apply, it was closed by the time I decided I was interested. Honestly, I don't know if I could do 3 12hour night shifts in a row out there w/ the long commute. The same place prob has another FT opening up, maybe even days. I should go for it, but I just worked 3 12s in a row out there and it was tough to get enough sleep even with days. I might want to stick w/ per diem.

I did KCM Muscle Definition w/o 1, abs and a short walk.

Wow, I'm still not feeling like working out, I guess after 3 months of intense training for the RT it is telling me to rest up! I did 45 min of spinning (it kept buffering, grrrrr so I gave up), and a 1.8 dog walk. All in all not too bad given my lack of energy.

Forum name: How about 'Just a number' for age (or weight) is just a number. Or 'Better with Age', if you all do change the name as October is coming up, better make sure Murphy is aware :)

Mary, knot in blade getting better, maybe by tomorrow I'll be less grumpy about it.

Ronne, I've never been into prince, so I really don't know the reference (I feel so old?). lol

Jody, Some on the FB RT page are already packed! At least I'm not that bad! I do have a list of what workout outfits I'll wear for each class, but that's as far as I've gotten with any organization.
