Hey 40's, I want your input. So, I've had episodes at night where my heart races, shortness of breath, so can't get to sleep. I've been trying to figure out what the trigger is. So far, it seems a combination of things. I had this last night after trying to get back to sleep after being paged (I shouldn't have been paged anyway). I figured it's an ANXIETY attack or panic attack. I think it's from menopause. I'm wondering if cumulative stress along with any trigger is making it worse? I think I decided to go see my gyn, get a dr note saying I need to work from home more to eliminate some of the stress I'm having. My work isn't hard, it's just irritating, and why take time off with no pay to try to manage this (which I'm not being successful at), why not get a dr note to support lowering my stress at work? Does this sound reasonable? Any pointers? I sooooooooo wanted a Xanex last night! My brain kept telling my body to stop it, of course it didn't listen. I had a similar event the first night in Niagara and now I blame the stressful (for me) flight. I tried deep breathing, nothing worked, it was worse than the one in Niagara. AM I LOSING MY MIND??????????????
This sounds like what happened last night:
People who experience anxiety often can't seem to shake their concerns and worries about everyday events, even though they may know that their anxiety is out of proportion to the triggering situation.
I got that from: http://www.34-menopause-symptoms.com/anxiety.htm
