40s springing forward week 3/13/11

Hi everyone, no w/o for me, I slept in! I was soooooo tired after skiing, in fact I took a nap when we got home and told DH to wake me in an hour so that I would still sleep at night AND so I could watch American Idol. I just love Steven Tyler, don't know why, he's like my bad girl side attraction :) My nerdy side loves Reed on Criminal Minds :) DH also told me that I as snoring last night and he went to our DS21 old room to sleep. I guess I was THAT exhausted plus spring allergies are kicking in. Skiing was good, but WARM! Spring skiing for sure. On the way home I was so overheated that we stopped at Dairy queen for a Blizzard (their flavor of the month was Mint oreo but they were OUT of MINT! out of your flavor of the month??? I guess that's mountains for you, so I got a LARGE Cookie Dough Blizzard, I probably ate more calories than I burned but it did cool down my core temperature.

Ronne, GS legs isa toughie for sure and you need to be in the right mindset. Plus since you had just done it, I would never think about putting it in the next week....it's THAT hard to me!

Kathryn, I think it takes us longer to recooperate as we get older (we hate to admit it). Good that things are working out with DS and school and DH. I actually wore green today, but I didn't plan it :)

Mary, I think Kathryn needs your rower!

Murphy, hope everyone is on the mend in your place.

Back to work, seems no one volunteered to be backup on pager, so I finally did since I'm back from my big 1 day vacation. I can't believe the lack of effort of these people. I love my team lead to death she's so helpful so I had to help her out. She's been on primary pager for 2 weeks now, and backup pager and Team lead pager, not a very effective fail safe system. I need to learn to LET THESE THINGS GO, but I just can't, how do I ? Maybe I need to learn meditation, but I just can't sit quietly doing nothing, sigh.

Hi all

Kathryn - sorry to hear about your DS. Glad to hear that things are starting to improve though. Didn't your DD move school as well? How is she doing?
You're just going to have to be patient with your foot - I know how frustrated you feel!
St Patrick's isn't a big celebration here (obviously it is in Ireland), there's no holiday or anything. Irish pubs do stuff but most of the time I wouldn't know it was happening.

Mary - so what Kickbox did you go for? You still have to get up with your 9 yr old?! Eek!

Lisa - sounds like the skiing was fun. I'm sooooo envious. It must be lovely to be able to just go and do that for the day with no big effort. You definitely deserved your sleep and ice cream!!

Well, I did the sensible thing and didn't work out today. I had a dentist appointment and walked into town and I felt awful by the time I got there!!
I've also eased off work a bit today. DH is out late tonight so I'm having a quiet night in with my book!

See you tomorrow.

Wow! You girls have been busy today! Kathryn, sorry about DS, I understand your concerns. Youngest DS is doing so much better than he was last year! He had some issues and they are starting to resolve. No one tells us how hard being a parent is, thank goodness or none of us would do it! Also, MAY!? That is a long recovery. I had muscle torn away from the bone in both my hips, they fixed it somehow. It is a long recovery tho. Still have pain, but they told me it will take a year or more to resolve, so we shall see! Ronne, did you gout last night? A movie? I dread the dentist! Lisa, did you ski in your shorts? Crazy about Dairy Queen! I like the turtle version of their blizzard! Last night I did Rumble, have to see what's calling my name today! Have a good day! Mary

It is finally nice out so I power walked for a bit. It was a nice change.

Kathryn - DH has not been tested for sleep apnea. I think about it sometimes but I cannot pay him to go to the doctor to have his dislocated finger set so or when he coughed up blood. ???

Mary/Ronne - speaking of dentist. I had a root canal done last November/December and I am still having pain. It is not a sensitivity issue, if something hits the tooth I feel it and it hurts. The "regular" dentist told me to go back to the endodontist who cannot find anything and told me to go back to the regular dentist and etc. I am going to go to a third dentist, an oral surgeon and see if he/she can find anything. This is ridiculous.

Murphy, that would make me nuts being bounced around! I hope they figure out what is wrong, maybe a "dry socket"?

Ronne, enjoy your quiet time tonight. Next week DH is out of town and DS19 goes back to college after spring break so I'll have some nice quiet time and some GF party time too ;)

Mary, Now if I skiied in my shorts, if I should fall, that would be quiet cold wouldn't it? lol and wet!

Murphy/Kathryn/Mary, hearing your tooth/foot/hip problems make me grateful that I don't have those issues, relatively healthy. I need to learn to appreciate all the GOOD things, ya know?

Lisa, I was just thinking you could be like the kids, in shorts and a hoodie, even tho it is 2 degrees outside!

Mary, LOL, how they don't freeze!

Today I did Kick Max, not my favorite, almost went back to sleep in the beginning, hung in for the blast since that is some of your's favorite part, though not mine. I skipped the leg conditioning drills.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi everyone

Skiing in shorts, are you serious?!

Being ultra-sensible again and not doing anything today so giving all the dodgy bits time to recover. Feeling a lot better for it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi girls!, happy weekend! Today I did the rower, TM and bike. Mixed it up a bit! Yesterday was disc 13, I am sore! Ronne, hope those dodgy bits feel better! Lisa, have fun this weekend! Hello to everyone else! Mary
