40's, July Firecrackers

Morning! Busy here this morning! Today did PT and the bike. Thanks all for asking, I'm ok. Some days are better than others! Jody, I too am going to avoid your brownies! I think I will be bad with Ronne! Ronne, hope your DVDs come fast! Murphy, I think X10 is a really hard one! Lisa, where are you? Chilly here today, maybe we will hit the drive in tonight? Have a good day! Mary

HI ladies, didn't make it here yesterday, felt a little blah (tired of the neck/top to shoulder pain) and I just didn't want to be a Debbie Downer. I'm trying not to complain, I know people are tired of hearing it and don't get how/why I still hurt so trying to suck it up. Except with DH and my massage lady (she's a huge help). I saw here yesterday and she "got" my frustration. I worry that I might have permanent damage to the muscle, she encouraged me to keep on, it may take more time since it was where I felt the first pain (and always where I felt it for years), said we aren't dealing with recovering from the surgery now but just trying to get the muscle repaired now from it probably not getting nourished correctly during the 'neck episodes'. Hope that makes sense. She said it's better that I keep trying then give up because if I give up it will never be better, the key will be working it but stopping before it gets to the ouch phase which is hard since it doesn't hurt while I'm doing anything, it hurts later from over fatigue. So, I'll keep plugging along I guess, what other option do I have?

Workouts, I walked 3.25 miles yesterday with a fellow Catheter I met that's going on the DBRT, then did a 60 min Pilates reformer session. Today took dogs for 3 mile walk and then did Step Blast, 1/2 with 1 riser, 1/2 with no risers, all with t-rex arms.

Mary, I don't even know who is coming for my birthday, I know my siblings, DH and kids, but wonder based on some things I've heard that my sister is having HER FRIENDS COME. My brother thought I should celebrate but I told him I'm done with planning things, so he's planning it all (with my sister, guess that's why her friends are coming?). I "heard" you not sounding as "chipper", You'll just have to do UB stuff for me and I'll do LB stuff for you :). Think it will help our respective body parts?

Jody, I've only had 2 reformers, 1st one was a cheap aeropilates, then I upgraded a while ago to a more studio type one. So no knew reformer, just maybe you missed when I bought the better one after I knew I would use it? I've used black beans in brownies before too, but I only used them with a mix, not from scratch so not sure how much more "healthy " they were. I'm down another pound! I sure am feeling tired from all the cardio I'm doing (the only way I feel I can lose right now since weights are iffy at times).

Murphy, good to see you are getting back into it. Keep the good stories coming!

Ronne, oh how I'd love me some good rich dark chocolate! It should be a vegetable, especially for women! I have a goal with weight, I have a plan and trying real hard to stick to it.

Hi everyone

Lisa - your massage lady is such a find. Hard as it is, you're going to have to sit back on your birthday plans, if someone else is doing it then let them take the strain and don't get stressed about it :)!

Mary - have you given up on the Cathe Live subscription for now? I would imagine you can't do most of them.

Jody - no, I think Hiit is here to stay, and hooray for flatter stomachs however we get them!

Busy, frustrating day. Managed to get one project off my desk at least. Phone and broadband are both playing up. It sounds like a hurricane in the background on the phone, so I've contacted our provider.
Also got a letter recalling me for further tests after the mammogram the other week. Oh joy! Going back on Tuesday.
Did a quick Mindy, two segments one including core.

Ronne, sending positive vibes your way and hoping all that is energetically amiss smooths out.

Lisa, I knew you had two reformers, that is why I was teasing you a little, thinking you might want to really start a collection! You can prob sell the lower grade one on Craigs list pretty easily if you want it gone.

Mary, did you make it to the drive in? I watched a movie on HBO last night- Enough Said. I cried when the teenage dtr went off to college and Julia Louise Dreyfus was sad and missed her.

Murphy, doing X10 is surely a sign that you are getting back into it. (I think, I don't actually have that workout yet)

I did Tabatacise x 3 sections (I think 2, 4 and 5), XT bi and tri timesaver pm and Core 2.
I did the beach yesterday w/ older dd. My two girls haven't really spoken to each other since a fight in Feb so we aren't much of a team anymore. : ( I'll prob head to my dads this weekend. He's been coming to see us for the past two plus years so now that I have a car that is safe to drive and I'm out of school, I need to return the favor.

Today was a 2.85 mile walk, PIYO buns, and LLA premix that was minus core and plus barre. Went and got my hair cut and got some new running shoes for my walks (a bright orange... they only had bright yellow and orange in my popular size 7).

Ronne, Oh gosh, try not to worry! I got my new Pilates arc toy. DH already said he wants to lay on it, it stretches you out backwards over the arc. He can get his head all the way down, I have to prop a pillow to not over extend my neck. It was a challenge extending my neck into the shampoo bowl at the hair cut.

Jody, I think girls are worse about holding a grudge than guys. I always thought my boys got along well when in reality I think they just put up with each other better than if they were girls (because I asked them one day). Snorkeling sounds cool. DO you have blue waters where you are? Is it clearer than at Daytona or somewhere like the gulf?

I've totally screwed up posting on 2 checkins, I'm editing and don't remember what everyone said now. I'm post challenged today!

Hello. Ronne, positive energy for you! I will be sending you good thoughts! I have kept Cathe live, I watch them on the bike. I have been able to do a few of them. Upper body and even the senior one. Not too bad. Lisa, if you start collecting reformers, you will have to buy a bigger house! Jody, hope your DD's can mend fences. That must make it hard for you, being in the middle. Murphy, what is up with you? Have to go clean the kitchen! Talk more tomorrow! Mary

Hi everyone

Thanks for the good vibes. Another hot day here, we had a massive thunderstorm in the middle of the night. Lightning lighting up the room, pouring rain, the lot. I couldn't get out of bed to look though, just too tired.
Did yoga today, good stretch.
Going out for Thai food tonight to celebrate end of term and DD's trampolining achievements.
Going to friends tomorrow for dinner and may have a picnic on Sunday if the weather holds.

Mary - glad you've not had to give that up.

Lisa - that arc sounds good.

Jody - sad about your daughters, hope they can make up soon. Have a good weekend with your dad.

Supercuts on tap for today. No wt loss this week, but Tues I wore the pants I couldn't wear to interview on previous week b/c they were so tight. I'm slowly moving in right direction. Someone asked me to come in for them at current job this aft and I may end up w/ 8 hours or so. I anticipate starting new job on next wed. I won't feel legit for a while and hate to jinx it so I haven't said anything but I am shopping for Royal Blue scrubs now. : D

Ronne, take care of yourself. I am holding off on a lot of screenings and well visits. The emotional trauma from False positives takes its toll.

Mary, the clip from the senior class was touching to watch. I loved the energy. Are you guys staying less busy this summer? Or are kids doing more on own?

Lisa, here is another link to what it looks like around here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvu0qY8NBpU I haven't seen all of that in one trip, but definitely fishes and that one nurse shark. My friend saw a sea turtle and bigger shark of some type.

Murphy, did you try the brownies? I love dates too.

Good morning! Today did a Jessica Smith walking w/o. Ronne, another fun weekend for you! I will continue prayer and positive energy for you! Jody, royal blue? Very flattering! No, the kids are crazy busy, can't drive yet! They are all going away this weekend with my parents to Air Force museum. DH and I will be alone in our house! ALL WEEkEND! We are going to DH's 25th high school reunion tomorrow night. Lisa, new shoes and new hair! I love new workout shoes, the colors now are so cheery! Hi Murphy! Well, have to make sure the kids get their packing started, have a good day! Mary

Did a 2.6 mile walk, then PIYO Strength Intervals (I don't think I really like this one), then did the 40 min w/o that came with the Pilates arc. So kinda an easier day.

Ronne, the arc made my back feel good, I will be looking on Pilates anytime for some w/o's for it as I won't use the instructional one that comes with it again. DH is loving laying over it too. Have a good time celebrating!

Jody, that's great about things fitting better. I've had to tighten my fitbit flex band up a notch, seriously I would prefer to lose in my belly or hips/thighs instead of my wrist! LOL.

Mary, how long will you not be able to drive? I didn't even think about that, color me "clueless". :). Enjoy the alone time with DH! I have been wistfully dreaming of having our house back to ourselves this week. They have at least started on DS and DIL's house, I just hope they are out by Thanksgiving, there is no completion date set yet, sigh.

Isn't it time for a Murphy fly by?

Hi all!
Lisa, I knew what Mary meant about drive, lol.
Mary, I hope you and dh have a wonderful weekend together. He (or you both) are youngsters if he is going to 25th! Did you both grow up in the area where you currently reside?
I'm off to DB in a bit. I did all the CBS from the PP/SS dvd and subbing it for XT CBS. I put my Tonique in to preview and may sub it for XT Legs this week. What do you think, Mary? You are the Tonique girl. Wish me luck on the food during road trip. My dad has a cabinet w/ cookies.

2.75 mile dog walk, 30 min spinning with 1st part of Ride (I like doing only 30 min at a time, less dread for me), then 40 min on Pilates arc and reformer.

Jody, I guess I took it as Mary driving because I couldn't drive for a couple months after my surgery. Depends where you head is at probably :). Eat good~. Remember I'm supposed to encourage you! I feel like my body is getting used to lower calories, I might need a cheat food day..

I think I did 2.5 mile walk (endomondo wasn't working...I didn't notice until more than halfway thru, hate when that happens!), Then since my muscle (left neck/shoulder) felt a little ouchie I listened to my body instead of pushing so I had to pick from w/o's that had no arm movements (bike, t-rex arms for step), so I did spinning about 25 min and then about 25 min on the Pilates arc. I hope it isn't my imagination but I sure feel like my spine is more "bendy" from using the arc. I think I'll integrate a couple of the standard exercises everyday with my stretches, heck what's 5-10 more min a day.

Hope all are having a great weekend!

Hello! Sorry never made it here all weekend, busy and we enjoyed our time without the kids! Saturday, just did PT. We went to the casino for a bit, then reunion. Nice people. Sunday, no w/o. Washing machine died, had to go get a new one. Also picked out a new fridge and a new light fixture for kitchen. Spending money like we had it! Lisa, how much time do you spend a day working out? Including walking the dogs, cuz that is a workout! Jody, did you have fun at the beach? DH is 6 1/2 years younger than me, but I have hair and he doesn't! Haha! Let me know how you like Tonique. I want to know if I'm the only wimp! Ronne, how was your weekend? I'll keep you in my thoughts extra for tomorrow. Will they let you know right away the results? Hi Murphy! Errands and pool today, have to get DS ready for......yearbook camp! Who knew there was such a thing?! Have a good day! Mary

Today was 2.85 dog walk, then Piyo Legs (my glutes were fried with the curtsy lunges on the discs) and Piyo Hardcore on the floor, really hard, I'm pretty sure I'm going to sore in the core tomorrow. Then I tried the Speedspin class on SSOD, I was humbled, I am so not a spinner! At least Cathe gives us breaks! I wasn't into the music either, so not sure about doing any subscription with them.

Mary, you have every reason not to check in this past weekend! Glad you had a good time! I'm working out about 2.5 hours a day including dog walk, whatever w/o(s), and stretching. I have a goal for my birthday I'm working toward so really working it.

Murphy, there are parts of each PIYO workout I like and some parts I'm clock watching. But overall I do think it's a good "change" for a workout, and it's hard! My UB strength sucks now and even if you are supposed to split your weight between arms/legs for some of the stuff (like down dog, beast), my arms just can't take it. I do roll up the yoga mat to put under my hands to ease up on the wrists (learned that from Pilates Anytime). Or maybe my body weight is just too heavy! LOL :).

Hi I'm back. I did a little cardio today. Again I put in SC and again I wanted to save it til I felt more energy. I did Step Works, an oldie, but did very little jumping. Got cancelled for shift tonight then was called and asked if I could come in after all if needed, but then crisis passed and I didn't need to go in and now I'm getting ready for bed which is OK by me. Daytona was nice w/ my dad. I did hit the cookie jar but overall it could have been much worse.

Lisa, you are getting a lot of movement it, that is awesome. You seem goal oriented and determined, I am sure you will meet your BD goals by your BD.

Mary, there is a camp for everything I guess! I hope he enjoys it. I wasn't active in school groups, but I'm pretty sure there was a club or something for that. I was in the Late for First Period Class club and Suspended for Smoking in the bathroom club. Enjoy the new appliances.

I hope everyone had a nice Monday and weekend.
PS Mary, I thought you liked that Tonique?? But it is hard? I might try it this week for Legs or just try it and get back to XT next week since I keep subbing.

Hey everyone

Been having broadband/phone problems so not been around. Weekend was great, stayed out late at friends on Sat night, didn't get back till 1.15 (DD was at sleepover so no babysitter to get back for). Went to the park on Sunday, had a picnic, knocked a tennis ball around. Just loving this weather, best summer we've had in years.
Engineer been this morning and replaced cabling, boxes etc. so everything working smoothly so hoping for similar this afternoon! ;)

Jody - wow, talk about messing you around! Glad you had a nice weekend with Dad anyway.

Lisa - you are working out like a demon, it all counts. I'm sure you'll make your target.

Mary - sounds like you had a good weekend as well.

Planning to do some KCM this morning (did YBB 2 yesterday). Only got time for shortish workouts at the moment.

Good morning! Today cheated a bit, did GS legs. I HAD to! Did do some modifications/substitutions. I was so happy! Don't tell on me! Ronne, sounds like another perfect weekend! Glad your internet is figured out. Jody, that's a lot of game playing. Haha! You sound like you were fun in high school! Were your parents too upset with you then? Lisa, you are focused! Very impressive! Hi Murphy! Got DS off to camp, now to figure out some fun with the other two! Have a good day! Mary
