Tami,

Run........guy sound like an idot if that is the way he responds to an email. I always say listen to your GUT!!!!! If I didn't already have two goldens I would come take one of those beautiful babies off your hands. Love labs as much as my goldens.

Good luck

Cynthia-I also had Stone (the male) neutered as soon as he was old enough. They were brother and sister so I didn't want any funny stuff to accidentally happen! My pets are all fixed and preach to everyone about getting their animals fixed. Our neighbor got a cat that was a male and didn't want to get him fixed b/c he said he could't do that -manhood and all! Can you believe it? And any kittens would not be his problem. Well, I was like a bad rash that would not go away and told him that I would take the cat in if he didn't. It was all very pleasant but I was persistent and he gave in and then admitted I was right and he had learned a thing or two ;)

Hey Shanna, back before people knew better my aunt took in a male cat and said she wouldn't be getting him fixed because, being he was a boy, he wasn't likely to bring home kittens. When my mom told me that I started shaking my head no and prepared to raise a stink and she said "Wait a minute. Let me finish." She said one day my aunt went to open the door to let the boy in. he came in, acted strangely, then ran back out before she could shut the door. My aunt and uncle looked at each other, confused, and were startled when their boy cat ran back in and stopped again. He turned around and seemed to be looking at something. So they stood there, watching, and a second kitty came up to the door and gingerly stepped inside the house. It was the boy cat's pregnant girlfriend! They adopted the girl, aborted the litter (yea, I know...), and got the girl fixed. Then they got the boy fixed. Thereafter, the many animals they adopted were always fixed, female AND male. Talk about learning the hard way!

SirenSongWoman,

That is amazing that cat took responsibility for his family! Truly amazing!

Ummm, dogs are faithful, but I don't know if a male dog would be so responsible:eek:

I had a very nice young woman come over last night & pickout one of my girls. She is paying 1/2 now & will pay the rest next week when she will pick up the puppy. She seems so nice, has children & another puppy that is a week older than ours. We have wanted them all to go to homes with other dogs because we feel they do so much better with a companion. I love the idea that she will be growing up with a nother dog. She is bringing her puppy over Fri night so they can get aquainted.
The whacking cut has been cut loose!!! Thanks again ladies!! You are all so helpful. :D

That is fantastic news Tami!
I agree with you about having a companion. My two are like an old married couple. I worry how they will handle the loss of the other. They take care of each other when they're not feeling well. They have little bickers here and there, but they resolve them quickly. When I take one to the vet and leave the other behind, they inspect each other when I come home. They cuddle together...

I'll bet your happy that you'll get to see the puppies meet. I think it's great they will meet first!

SirenSongWoman - that is amazing. I loved the story, and the ending with both getting fixed. I could just picture the whole thing - I think I got carried away b/c I pictured the humans, what they were wearing, their house, the cat, the back porch, etc. I didn't realize I was doing that until I thought about the story again as I was writing this. Sometimes my imagination gets a bit carried away! The only time I've dealt with an aborted litter was with my Midnight (bless her soul) who got knocked up before we or the vet thought it possible and therefore she was not fixed. We were waiting for her to get old enough...She was in inside kitty but I was a teenager and let her out with me sometimes when I could watch her. Well, a very bad boy kitty came calling. She was not big enough to carry the litter.

Cynthia-AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! How sweet. They look so peaceful - not a care in the world! Thanks for sharing :D
