2011 NEW YEAR'S STS CHALLENGERS: WEEK OF 2/6!

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry, I've been a little preoccupied lately with family stuff. Today was an unexpected rest day but I did get in a few minutes of core work. Tomorrow I'm taking another rest day and maybe even the rest of the week. I'm lucky my recovery weeks have worked out when they have.

I'll try to catch up tomorrow. Hope your workouts are good ones!

Morning All.

My rest day was fine but I'm happy to be back at it today even though I had to fight to get out of bed this morning. :rolleyes:

Today was cardio/leg day so I mish moshed once again. ;)

BBL Bum Bum
LBB all floor work
Tonique Mat back lying exercises up to but not including bicycles
2.5 min prone plank hold
30 reps of side plank hip raises on each side

Took an hour and it HURT...in a good way ofcourse! :D

Julie:: Hope everything is okay with you and your family!

Kristin:: Wow. That's an impressive weight for deadlifts! Go you! Nice re the DOMS. I love shoulder DOMS! Tonique actually will give me some mean DOMS in the shoulders. Not sure if it's disc 1 or disc 2 from Tonqiue2 but one of them has a 10 minute upper body segment that FRIES the shoulders somethin' fierce! VERY LIGHT WEIGHTS but OMG! It's killer!:eek::D

Sherry:: I can't wait to try M2 legs. Good job! You'll probably have some nice DOMS tmrw! :)
 
Hi all!

Basic step tonight - only 30 minutes available for cardio and didn't need to think. It might have worked out some of the butt doms, too.

Kristin - I probably should go heavier with the weights, but I hurt my wrist late last yearso I'm stepping it back up a bit slower than I could. As for legs, I wqs trying to pace myself with the weights i we have, but dh said if I need more, just go get them. Gotta love that support!

Julie - hope the family stuff works out ok and you have time to take care of yourself.

Wendy - love your creativity with your workouts!

Short but done! Hope you all bad a great day!
 
Hey all. Today's workout was Step Moves plus no equipment abs. Felt good. My legs have DOMS from yesterday. I was surprised this morning when I didn't feel very sore, but after sitting during my prep period, there they were, lol.

Julie- hope all is okay.

Sherry- gotta love the support from the DH. Go for it. I want to add more muscle definition to my legs, and I think lifting heavier with the next two Mesocycles will get me there.

Wendy- LBB is on my wish list when I am done STS ;)

Morning Girls.

I have upper/inner thigh DOMS today. Gotta love it! :) Suprised my buns don't hurt though!

This morning's work out was:

IMAX 3 1-5
Cardio Combat Surge kickboxing segments only
High Reps abs

Kristin:: I haven't done Step Moves in a while. I busted my butt to learn and have probably forgotten it all by now. :rolleyes: LBB is a goodie. You must get it! ;)

Sherry:: Good job squeezing in 30 minutes of step and working out some of the DOMS is an extra added bonus!
 
I thought I would take a minute while Stephanie is working independently (I homeschool my first grader) to check-in.

I did Disc 6 today. I really loved all the band work at the end. Tomorrow is HIIT Double Wave Pyramid and Stability Ball Abs.

I can't believe that I am half way through Mesocycle 1 now. It is going by fast.

Fitmommy - You are so creative with your workouts. Are you using the workout blender for Cathe's workouts?

Julie - I hope everything is OK with your family.

LaDonna:: Wow, I give you major kudos for doing the homeschooling thing. :) I could never! :eek: I have the WOB downloaded and have a few downloads but haven't been using it. I tested it out when I first got it but that was it. I want to download Intensity this week since it's on sale plus I have a few others I want. I am trying to wait for them to go on sale. Once I get a good group of workouts together then I will start to use the WOB more. The last download I purchased and was super excited about (IMAX2) proved to be a huge disappointment and turned me off the WOB for a while. :( So right now I am just excited to go buy the cable I need to plug into a tv so I can bring my cathe work outs (as produced, not mish moshed) with me on my w/e's away or on vacation without having to pack my portable dvd player or laptop! I am going away next weekend so I really want to be able to use it then! :D That being said, for now I am still mish moshing the old fashioned way. ;)

Hi all!

How I love watching those STS tickers moving along!

Forced rest day here. Just no time today. After work, ran errands got the guys off to their ski trip this weekend, at DD's soccer practice right now, then stopping by my monthly scrapbooking group. Can't wait to get home and collapse!

Kristin - butt doms were't too bad as long as I keep moving, but yes, start sitting a bit and then I really feel it!

Wendy - cardio combat? Which series is that?

Ladonna - great that you can squeeze in soem time for yourself with the homeschooling.

Watching clock . . . Almost done . . . Hope you all have a good one!
 
Morning ladies. Last night I completed disc 15, back and biceps. Plus I did the extended stretch, which was great. I actually feel a little sore in my biceps, which never happens. I am really surprised at how heavy I am able to lift. I guess this 1 RM system really does work.

Wendy- SM was easier for me to master than Athletic Step :eek:. the first time I did AS, I fell off the step. . . hard. . . in front of my son, who laughed! :eek::eek::eek:

Ladonna- the band work on disc 6 was my favorite "bonus" in meso one.

Sherry- I cannot do scrapbooking. I did it once, for my son's first year album and it came out okay, but I feel as though I just have two left hands or something, lol.

Today's workout. . . not sure what it will be, but it will be something good! ;)

BTW- We are trying to maybe go to FLorida for April break and I have been looking at condos/homes to rent because they are cheaper (believe it or not) than hotels. I found one place, but they want to whole amount, $700 60 days before we go. Is that normal to request the money up front without us even getting in the condo first? I found it on homeaway.com. Just curious. have any of you done this before?

Workout completed. I decided on Kickmax, bootcamp/kickbox premix plus weights and plates abs. I feel good! Whatcha all doing today?

Good Evening Ladies!

Wow! Can't believe I'm just getting here now! Shows you what kind of day it's been! :eek: Got up at 7:30...spent 1 cup of coffee's worth of time farting around on the pc and then I was off and running with housework, laundry, food shopping, Chuck E. Cheesing :rolleyes:, working out and cooking dinner. Phew! I was pretty much non-stop barring a 30 minute nap to refuel late this morning and a cup of coffee after it to get my blood pumping again! I didn't do my work out until after 4pm. I hate that but oh well. Atleast I got it done, right?

Disc 8 plus 20 minutes of KCM Bootcamp cardio. Abs were supposed to be on the agenda but it didn't happen for time's sake. No biggie. There's always tmrw! ;)

Kristin:: Great work outs. We usually vacation with my SIL every year and she so graciously makes all of the arrangements. All we do is show up with cash to pay our way and enjoy! :D That being said, I really don't know much about policies when it comes to rentals like that. I would say it seems odd but I really don't know! Sorry I can't help more. So you seriously found SM easier to pick up on the AS? WOW! I even had a bit of difficulty with AS but it was still easier then SM IMO. I love them both but haven't done SM in a while. I need to get back to it. There's still a move I can't get down but can fake well enough to get through the work out. LOL
Do you have/do HIS from 4DS? There's a combo in that one that baffles me! :eek:

Sherry:: Cardio Combat Surge is a kickboxing work out by Kimberly Spreen. She's a pretty recent discovery of mine. I love her work outs. Totally different style then Cathe. I for one need that variety. Love the way KS works the core with her KB.

Guess that about wraps it up for me! Tmrw is Disc 9 (beloved leg work!) , cardio and abs assuming I have the time...which I should!

Happy Sunday all! Today I did BM2 Cardio Blast plus the ab work. I have not done BM2 in so long. I cannot remember the last time I did this premix either. it was awesome. I put the music louder than the vocals and it rocked. I was sweating buckets at the end. When I did the ab work, I had sweat dripping down my arms during the side planks . Felt good!!!!

I read somewhere that in tomorrow's Cathe email newsletter they will be announcing the date for registration for the NJ RT! Are any of you planning on going? I plan on trying to get in. I went last year for the first time and it was sooo much fun. It just was such an awesome experience.
