2011 NEW YEARS STS CHALLENGERS: WEEK OF 2/27

Good Morning Ladies,

Kickmax combos plus KPC abs is all I could muster y'day (around 5pm finally).

Today will be better though! I have to do disc 9 or 10! I haven't lifted since last freakin' Friday!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Gonna swallow this cup of coffee and get goin' on my work out so that I can be done for that day! I have the potential for having a lot on my plate so it needs to get done early!!!

Hi everyone. Today's workout will be some kind of cardio. I am thinking maybe the Bootcampt cardio only premix of 4 DS coupled with the cardio only premix of the original bootcamp. . . not sure if I will be up to it though. Cardio Core Circuit might make the cut too. I am starting to really want that Workout Blender!

Wendy- Which disc did you decide on?

sherry- any tricep DOMS yet?

Okay, my work out was done before 10am!!! Yay me!

STS Disc 9 (FINALLY I can kiss that one goodbye!;))...I kept my weights the same for all but maybe 3 of the exercises I KNEW the last time I did it, I had gone too light on. Everything else was already as azz kickin' level and I wasn't in the mood to push it any harder this morning.
KPC thru low intensity drills + first round of hi intensity drills (20 mins)
Standing Abs from Absolute K/B

Kristin:: Enjoy your cardio today. The w/o blender and downloads are not a space hog. I say go for it! ;)

Good morning!

Not as sore as I thought I would be this morning. Stiff at first, but once I got moving I'm fine. Good, because I still intend to get D21 done tonight.

Do any of you know anything about itreads? I don't like treadmills, but if I'm traveling more, I need to accept that as my running option, so I plan to start getting some audio workouts.

Wendy - great job sucking it up and getting it done! I remember D9 being an almost crier! I'm amazed you could still do some cardio, too!

Kristin - 4DS Bootcampp is one of my faves! Still no tricep DOMS - maybe they just don't get them?

BBL. Enjoy your day!

Sherry:: I used both ITreads and Cardio Coach work outs when I ran for a few years (hope to get back to it some day!). I loved my ITreads to pieces! Cardio Coaches were good too but I personally preferred the Itreads. I have a ton of them on my ipod that I haven't used in a couple years since being a gym member stopped being worth it for me. :( Not sure exactly what you want to know about them but I'll answer any questions you have as best as I can. Also about Cardio Coach too if you are interested. :) TY re disc 9. It sure took long enough! I do cardio after out of necessity (I need more then just 3 days per week) and because I hope/believe that loosening the legs a bit with some cardio after a tough leg work out helps to cut a little bit of the DOMS that is headed my way! It's not always what I want to do after a tough weight work out but I try to take advantage of having more time on weekends and get it done. It's the only time I can fit it in. Sometimes I'll split the work outs up into am and pm to make it physically easier but that takes up more time in the end which I don't always have. Ok, novel over! LOL

Workout done for today. I ended up doing BC cardio only premixes from 4 DS BC and the original BC. It was an awesome, challenging, sweaty workout.

I am in the last week of Meso 2 and I am looking forward to it. I looked at my workout card for tomorrow, CST, and uh, those push ups are back :eek::eek:. I am a little stunned. Let's see how many I can do on my toes now, lol.

Going to bed. DH has to get up at three in the a.m. to take my parents to the airport. They are going to Puerto Rico for two weeks, lucky them!

We are actually going to Florida in April, and I cannot wait. I want to be someplace sunny, warm, and swim in a pool!

Night all!
Kristin

It's too late now. Didn't get to D21 as planned. Allowed myself to get distracted by Hugh Jackman and Colin Firth at the Oscars.

BTW - Triceps do get DOMS. Feeling every muscle that I worked yesterday, more as the day wore on.

Good night.

Morning.

DOMS from Disc 9 is here but it doesn't seem nearly as bad as it was the first time! :D

This morning was BM2 cardio as produced thru the power circuits MINUS the weighted lower body segments. Good stuff! :)

BBL~

Hello!

I did Circuit Blast today. I love to play with my "toys," so I thought this would be a fun workout to do for the first day of my recovery week. I think tomorrow I will get my boxing gloves out. I can't wait to get started on Meso 2.

Have a great day everyone!

LaDonna

LaDonna:: I'm starting to get jealous of everyone starting meso 2 and I've still got 2 full weeks of meso 1 left. I committed to the 6 month rotation though so I'm not gonna give up! I can do this cause 2 weeks is like nothin' right? :D

Hi everyone,
Hope you don't mind me joining. I only do Meso 2 & 3. I injured myself in Meso 1 when it first came out and I won't do that Meso again which is a good thing as I didn't care for it that much.

I am in my second week of Meso 2. Will be doing chest/shoulders/tris tonight.

Mornings I do cardio (treadmill or spinning) that way I get my cardio in and don't have to think too much. I do mainly iTread with runervals and other misc ones thrown in. Spinning I do Spinervals, and the ones from spinning.com

This morning was iTread 13 endurance (45 minute workout) and enjoyed it. Time flies for me when doing iTreads.

Someone was talking about Cardio Coaches and I had them all at one time but they were dreadful workouts for me. I like the iTreads so much more. I have so many that I shouldn't get bored with them.

Rhonda

Welcome Rhonda. I am an Itread fan as well. Hopefully I will get back to running and be able to use them again in the future.

Hi everyone. I just finished D22 CST and I was actually able to do all the push ups on my toes! Yay! Well, I still cannot do the close grip push ups on my toes, but I am getting there. I bench pressed 50 # BB, and chest flys were 22 # (20 plus gloves). I have never lifted this heavy in my life, and I never thought I would be able to. I am feeling good, even with the the arrival of TOTM.

Proud mommy moment- my youngest son went on the potty three times today1 he told me, "Mommy, me no like diapers, me want underwear." I was so proud and then sad because I know he is my last baby and he is growing up :):(

Wendy- 2 more weeks and you will be there in Meso 2. I am finding the time is flying by. Before we know it, april will be here.

Welcome Rhonda! I like Meso 2 better than 1 as well. I am almost sad that I am 2 discs from completing this cycle.

LaDonna- I know wha tyou mean about toys, I love having my gear out too.

Okay, good night ladies.

Kristin

Good evening everyone!

Got in a 2 mile interval run on the treadmill. Debating what to do about the iTread's. Should I start with a few 20 minute versions to get used to them, then go longer on time? If so, start with 1, 2, 3 and so on?

Wendy - Heck, I jealous of anyone that can stay on schedule. I should be back home on Wed so that I can get in D21 (last Friday's wo).

LaDonna - Don't you just love the new toys! Lovin' Meso 2 so much more than Meso 1.

Rhonda - Welcome. I was asking about the iTread's. I don't like runnin on treadmills, butr I'll be traveling a bit more, so need to accept it and need a motivating tool to do it. Any recommendations are welcome.

Kristin - Day 2 since the lower body wo (D20) and still feeling it everywhere. At least the upper body recovered from D19. Did I metion that I did get some, albeit small, triceps DOMS this time around?

Hello to the rest.

Time for bed. Sleep well.

Good Morning!

Today was supposed to be my rest day but I opted for Disc 10 instead so I can have full body DOMS tmrw and make my rest day worth it! ;):p:D

BBIAB for personals!

ETA::

Kristin:: Potty training is bittersweet, isn't it? Yup, just 2 more weeks! I hope I can make it! LOL Great job with your weight loads! I am getting stronger too! It's awesome! I pushed a little TOO hard today on disc 10 and ended up completely failing on an exercise at the end. I guess my ego was bigger then my muscles! LOL It's okay tho. I know better for next week now! This is why I like the longer rotation! Always have that 2nd chance to fix your mistakes! ;)

Sherry:: No one can stay on schedule w/o ANYTHING throwing them off. That's impossible unless you live and breathe your work outs and EVERYTHING takes 2nd place to them so don't feel bad. Just make it work for you! The important thing is that you are DOING IT which is more then most people can say!!!! Itreads are mix and match. There's no one way to use them. I would read the descriptions and pick ones that sounded good. I had some 20's, 30's, 40's and 60's. If you can run longer then 20 mins then you should be able to pick a 30 or 40 min Itread and do it right away. Just keep your speeds at a level that you can handle. She gives 3 "levels" and you can always adjust from there as well. I always like the 30-40 mins ones the best! :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evening all. My little guy is all happy to be wearing pull-ups. He got the hang of this potty thing pretty fast. I think it is easier this time because he has a big brother and sees him using the potty. It wasn't this easy with Nikolas that is for sure. My parents have only been gone one day and I miss them already. I am such a baby! The truth is they drive me nuts every day and then they go on vacation and I miss them like crazy. I am nuts, lol.

Anyway, my workout for tonight was SM and SB abs. I really did not feel like workoing out, but within five minutes I was all in, lol.

Anyone watch Bravo shows? Bethenny Ever After? I am hooked on cheesy reality t.v., lol.

Wendy- it is bittersweet, that is for sure. DH and I were talking about the money we will save when we don't have to buy diapers. That put a smile on my face. Now when he is ready for kindergarten, the money we will save on daycare, ooooo boy! I am thinking the 6 month rotation is better in figuring out what weight realy works for you, and allows you to "test" your 1 RM out. I might just do the 6 month rotation next round.

Sherry- D20 was a tough one, wasn't it. Those sit and stands. . . I cannot do them with 1 leg lifted, lol. I just go up with one leg extended out more, which is weird b/c I am squatting with 35 # dumbells for crying out loud.

Ladonna- any other workouts or are you taking advantage of the rest week?

Hello to Rhonda.

Kristin

Hi all!

Long work day today - 7 to 7. Did get in 30 minutes walking hill intervals on the treadmill. Ate dinner so late that I didn't want to run - afraid I might see it again. I'm traveling with a co-worker who likes to go to restaurants to eat. I'd be fine with Subway or something similar. I'm getting the lightest things on the menu and watching my portions because I don't want my STS efforts sabatoged.

Wendy - so, how are the DOMS? Does the whole body ache? Thanks for the info on iTread. I'll look into them some more this weekend when I have a little more time and get a couple to use over the next few weeks. I so much prefer to run outside, but not alone, in the dark, in a strange town.

Kristin - Hurray for the potty training! Hurray for the push-ups on your toes!(missed your post last night) And impressive weights. I'm benching 45# and using 15# for flies. So glad I'm not the only one wondering why I can't get the sit n stands when I'm doing heavier weights on other leg work. Even with the one leg levered, I'm feeling it!

Hi to everyone else! Hope you enjoyed your day.

Bed time now. Good night.

Good Morning.

Rest day for me today. I have the fih-yah in my chest today from Disc 10! The DOMS actually started last night!:eek::eek: My lower body is fine though! It recovered from disc 9 in 2 days instead of 3! Progress! :D

BBL for personals!

ETA::

Kristin:: We never experienced the horrors of daycare costs b/c I decided to stay home for the first 4 years. Since I've gone back to work and he's in school, he's enrolled in a very reasonably priced aftercare program that watches him before and after school for us. He loves it!

Sherry:: I guess I already answered your DOMS questions above! LOL I am the exact opposite...much prefer the TM but did enjoy racing so that took me outdoors as well as a number of runs with a buddy of mine. We liked to meet at a local park in nice weather sometimes and run a 5k cross country course together. :)

Hi all!

D21 finally done! Really worked the biceps hard. Loved it!

Wendy - Gotta love those DOMS!

Kristin - We don't watch much TV and try to stay away from the reality shows for the exact reason you said - don't want to get hooked on them. That said, the whole family makes time for Dr. Who on Sat. nights when the season starts.

Off to do the zillion things that didn't get done while I was gone. Enjoy your evening.

Morning everyone. Yesterday was such a hectic day. After work, I took nikolas to his reading pizza party and book fair. I didn't really sit down until 7:30, only to get back up to put the kids to bed. I went to bed at 9!!!! Therefore, no workout for me yesterday, lol. today I will be doing D23 from m2, legs. Ah, the last of the trisets. I have loved the trisets in this cycle, getting some good results.

Wendy- you are so lucky you were able to stay home like that. I actually took a year of unpaid leave for each baby, and although it was very tight around here, I never regretted it.

Sherry- those sit and stands kill me! It bothers me so much that I canot do them with one leg up, lol. Very smart to stay away from teh reality t.v., it is addictive, lol.
