18 YEARS OF SOBRIETY!

Hello, sportsfans:

Just wanted to share a little moment of gratitude with my Cathe friends: today (well, yesterday actually) I hit the 18-year mark for total sobriety / abstinence from alcohol. (That's 6,575 days for all you math majors out there.)

The journey that I embarked on, mostly unwittingly, back beginning on July 20, 1987 has been a little bit of everything: successes, failures, strokes of good fortune and strokes of sorrow, days of things just being so-so and nights of bad television. But how wonderful it is to be present for it, to be there for it, and NOT to be killing myself one drink at a time.

In my line of work, I see every day the horrific damage that alcohol can do, and every day I say "Thank You" to whoever spared me that fate, at least for the past 6,575 days. And every time I pull out a Cathe workout I try to imagine myself doing it Back Then. Couldn't ever have done it.

Here's to all of you, my friends in fitness! Thanks for listening!

Happy Birthday!!! That is so incredibly awesome!! My whole family is in either in recovery or in a 12 step program! They are something I think the whole world could use!!

Congratulations!

Annette, congratulations. That is a wonderful achievement and very inspiring. Are you in the program?

I have been sober since Nov 13, 2001 (the day Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence). In the beginning I couldn't believe anyone could do it and now I can't imagine any other way of life.

Thanks for being such an inspiration!!

Cheers,
Marie

Congratulations Annette! Your gratitude for all thing sober is really touching. The courage to do what you have done is enormous but you consistently show great courage in challenging yourself and others.
I'm not much for material things but my most prized possession is my Dad's one year medallion, just holding it gives me strength and peace.
Celebrate and enjoy!!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Edited to say: Congrats to you too Marie it's awesome the things that we can do if we take it one day at a time:)

That is AWESOME Annette! What an ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!!!!!!:7 I am so proud of you! And as a fellow recovering alcoholic I know "exactly" what you are talking about. I am so happy for you. Many more! You deserve this way of life. NO ONE deserves that other way of life that we used to live!;-)

Congratulations, Annette! I have "known" you for four years now!

I was just wondering a couple of weeks ago when your next anniversary was going to be!

I hope you can go on a Cathe road trip some day, the same time I go. You rock.

Fondly,
Connie :* :)

Congratulations, you should be very proud of your accomplishment. We are all proud of you as well.
