**** 12 Week Challenge Jan 18 ****

I promise to only weigh myself on Saturday morning! It's soo hard not to peek sometimes.....

I'm off to do BodyMax 2 before the kids get home!

Happy Weekend :)

For all those committing to once-a-week weigh in with me…YOU’RE ON! Thanks for joining me. My weight is usually consistant, with the exception of Monday because Sunday is Free Day. And I usually don’t have any PMS/TOM side effects like weight gain, etc. But this month was the exception and I learned my lesson. For those who still check the scale…have at it, women. That’s your choice and that’s what works for YOU!

Johanna-I like to tack on SM at the end of my workouts because I tend to really tighten up (in the hamstrings, especially) and if that happens, my ITB starts to hurt and that means my running suffers. Plus today, my upper body DOMS really needed it too! LOL

Kath-I’ve eaten the EAS AdvantEdge bars and the Myoplex Lite bars. Both are designed to work with the BFL program. Both are rather tasty, as far as a bar goes! LOL My favorite 2 were the Cinnamon Roll and the Peanut Butter Crunch bars.

Marcia-pick whatever day works for YOU!

Sue-DS was just telling me last night about the forecast for this weekend’s game! He’s actually SOOOO excited for it and is praying it snows again this weekend there! HA! As for last night…it was just what you said it was…a bump in the road. It’s a long journey, a few detours isn’t going to stop us! KEEP ON TRUCKIN’!

Carolyn- is there a recipe for the chuncky white bean soup that you're willing to share? I LOVE RECIPES!!!!!!

Gayle

Gayle-

Here is the recipe:
CHUNKY WHITE BEAN SOUP

12 oz. lean ground turkey
1 chopped onion
1 TBSP Olive oil

Saute the above and drain any fat. Add 2 15-ounce cans great northern beans, one 16 oz jar green salsa, 1 3/4 cups low sodium chicken broth, and 1&1/2 tsp cumin. Simmer, covered for 20 minutes.

This recipe makes 4 servings.

I tripled this recipe for the family to enjoy also. Also use a "medium" green salsa. I used "HOT" and it has quite a kick to it.

Thanks Gayle for the info on the BFL bars. I'm not a fan of chocolate. I know I'm weird LOL. Do you find them sweet?

Good afternoon, Challengers!
I haven't had a chance to post the last few days, and I've missed you gals! DH's b'day was yesterday, and the kids and I made a chocolate chip cookie cake for him--I had a nice-sized piece! Wish I could throw away the leftovers! Yesterday's workout was SJP--didn't get to work out today, but hope to tomorrow morning. I love getting in the workout early am! Today, I had wheat toast for breakfast, homemade chicken noodle soup for lunch, and a bowl of oatmeal for snack. Oh, and a small piece of cookie cake! I've hidden it out of my view so I won't be tempted anymore!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow--DH and I are taking the kids to see the stage production of High School Musical here in Memphis! It's the travelling production that's supposed to be great. The tickets were part of their Christmas present. Have any of you seen the production?

Finally have a minute for personals:
Lori and Carolyn--great meal plans, and thanks,Carolyn, for the soup recipe
Kath--good workout!
Gayle--as always, thanks for the inspiration and motivation!
Marcia--hope your neck soon feels better
Amelia--Drill Max is fun, but tough!
Lorrie--I'm right there with you with the stress eating! Wish I could do such killer workouts that you do!
Christine--good luck with your dad--he's blessed to have you for a daughter
Gin--Yeah! on losing inches!
Jonahnah--don't you just love SJP? I did it yesterday--love the music
Karin--Okay, you've motivated me to get busy and clean my house now!
Sue--I do the same thing with eating--once I've had something "bad," I tend to just eat mindlessly and really blow it! Don't give up!
Kelly S., Jean, Melissa, and all who follow--have a great day and a super weekend!

Hope to be back to check in this weekend. Have a great one, everybody!

Valerie

Yes, another recipe to try!! Thanks Carolyn. Looks :9 !!!

My recipe folder is getting nice and full. So many things to choose from.

Hope everyone is having A GREAT DAY!!!

Sue - I've been there. I used to get like that as soon as I got home from work and I'm sure I would again in a heartbeat if something triggered me. Glad to hear that you've moved on and you are back on track!!

Carolyn-thanks for the recipe!

Kath-YES....sweet. But not Hershey's chocolate Kiss sweet, and not butter cookie sweet. Almost a 'fake sweet', if you know what I mean! LOL They are good in a pinch, but I easily start depending on them too much at times.

Gayle

OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!! I forgot about that S&H series that I haven't used in some time. Pulled it out this afternoon for some extra muscle work. I usually do chest work at around 30 pounds ---- no way. Man - have I lost strength! Backed it up to 25 and by the time the last of the incline bench presses rolled around I was at 20#. I had best get busy before STS comes our way! UGH!

Have great Friday night all!

Lorrie

Hey Lorrie. I'm looking forward to the fact that TOMORROW, you'll have DOMS like I've got them today.....all across the top of my upper half! lol I did the GS Push ups on my toes the other day, just before my BFL upper body weight work, and I feel like a snow plow ran right across me!

LOL

Laugh harder if you'dlike, because tomorrow morning I'm planning on adding on 4DS bis and tris for the first time, after my cardio! LOL

No way could I high 5 you anytime soon!

Gayle

He folks,

This is my very first post. I've been with you guys all the way and started Dec 29th. Been reading the posts and thinking how well you are doing. Well done! I am not doing too good, woke up this morning and feeling very very down and out in Beverly Hills. Exercise wise not a problem, ......BUT EATING!!!!! I have a three yr old who is up and down all night!! I am up too, take on my way through the kitchen stop off at the fridge. Our chocolates in the fridge right now bc its summer here and very HOT! So, I can't stop at one, more like 500! My hubby growls and says things like "Don't buy it. You are wasting your time you work soooo hard and then stuff it up by eating chocolate!" Hey FELLA I KNOW!!!

Loosing weight is very hard and I admire anyone who has lost a great deal of weight. You have to THINK before you put anything into your mouth. Thats really hard as it is a normal day thing we do, eating that is. Focus, focus, focus amd at two in the morn, after waking up, who has focus?? So I go open my mouth eat, be merry, go back to bed, do it all over again in a coupla hours, when "she who must be obeyed" awakens and then ...... Same old same old...

O.k, I've let off steam, and I maybe feel a bit better. You guys are all probably sleeping as we are on different time zone, so I've missed the discussions on anyway....

Dearest Gayle you are sooo encouraging to every one, its lovely to see. I cannot agree on the once a week weigh in. I am NEVER gettin on those scales (well ok, maybe if my measurements alter) again.

Cheers, Andrea

Welcome, Andrea! So glad you decided to post. This group is soooo supportive and encouraging - just thinking about checking in helps keep me on track at times when I'm tempted. I'm totally with you on the food/exercise thing. Exercise=Easy, Food=Hard }( See my post above on yesterday's eating if you don't believe me. But the important thing is that you keep trying again and again.

Come on back next week for checkin. Have a great weekend.

Sue

Edited to add:
Or come back tomorrow! This group checks in on weekends unlike my other group. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi Everyone,
No time for personals off to a b-day party for my great nephew he turns 1. Brkst was bad had to follow DS to take her car to get oil changed, messed up my whole morning. Had a monster cookie. Snack was yogurt and Almonds. Lunch Healthy Choice Pannini, and tomatoes. Snack was a salad with chicken and a apple. Tonites supper is being made by my sister-in-law don't know what we are having. Hope to get in Total Body Sculpt later. I would like in on the day you weight. I usually do it on Monday.

Good evening everyone!

Gayle I have to agree with Christine on the weigh in. I need to do it every day or close to that to keep myself on track. What I then do is, at the end of each month, just average out my weight and go by that number.

Welcome Andrea!

Most days I just can't do personals but I do check in and love to hear about everyone's triumphs and challenges.

Today was another surprise at 127. I had a little time this morning so I did Timesaver #1 - otherwise I wouldn't have done anything.

Eating wasn't great today - I'm in the PMS danger zone where I can hear every gram of saturated fat calling to me from the kitchen!

But I've had extra workouts and overall like how strong I'm feeling.

Hello everyone I hope that all is well. I didn't work out that much today I had to go visit two family members in the ICU. I started out good with the eating,I even had a cooler but I caved. I will do better tommorrow. I did get in a 30min Kick Max workout. Everyone have a good evening my weigh in day will be Thurs or Fri when I go to ww. Today 163.4 geez am I the fattest one here?

Good evening everyone! My workout today was LIS the whole thing. Boy it was hard to do all those crazy steps with my butt hurting from yesterday's workout. I love butts and guts but moving today was a little on the hard side!

I haven't been on the scale because of that time and I know I don't want to be upset, so I am using my clothes as an indication of my weight! Pants are falling off of me which is a great thing. My waist line is getting smaller which is a miracle considering.

You all are making great progress and the more I read about these pancakes............ I must have some. I know there is a receipe posted somewhere!
