100 Pushup Challenge Sat 20th

Ok so I just did 16, 17, 14, 14, and 24. Feel great and I am noticing that my abs are really contracted and getting stronger too. I think that this challenge is going to help not only with GS Chest and Tris but with any plank work that I do too. That is something that I always struggle with. My shoulders and chest always get tired long before my abs.

Question: After you complete a week and have to do a test are you taking a day off before the test and then another day off before you start your next week?

I was looking ahead and in no time I will be up to sets of 20s and 30s. Hard to believe. I will have a setback though. I have to have hand surgery next week and don't know how long it will be before I can get back to lifting.

I was planning to treat the test day as a pushup day; in other words, take a day off before and after. I figure it will be just as tiring and taxing to the muscles as a "workout" day.

Ok...just did Week One Day One...with 6/6/4/4/maxed at 8....lol This is going to be a looongg road....hehe

Mabdoo- you go girl!! Those kind of sets seem so far away for me!! good luck with your surgery.........;)

I'm trying to plan this around my rotation(s) the best I can, and will also go with how my body feels....if one week turns into a week and a half, so be it.......I look at it as it's not a race....:)
 
Pinny150...it did not take me long to get to where I am now. I couldn't do many of the pushups in GS Chest and Tris on my toes but I have been following this plan and am getting up there quickly.

As far as where to put this in my workout I have only done one chest workout in hte last week and a half and the one I did was sandwiched right between to pushup days. In fact, when I did the chest workout I was able to go heavier than normal.

I guess I better go back & read the directions better. I just finished day 3 of week 1. I have to say that last set I was pushing but I can definately see improvement already. :D

Great job you all!

I didn't do my push-up challenge today but did do 4DS Chest & Back! With all those push-ups in this one my chest was fried! I will restart wk 2 on tues. I am going back to cardio on tues, thur and saturday's and will do my push-ups then. ;)

Now you have to go and mention another change in the program? Another test? This is getting more complicated by the day! Back to re-reading.....

Who is having surgery? Mabdoo: Ouch! Hand surgery! I hope that it isn't serious! Good luck to you!

At the end of weeks 2 and 4 you do another exhaustion test, doing as many good form pushups as you can. Then you use that number to determine your level in the following two weeks. Hope that helps clarify things a bit.

I was supposed to do week 3 day 2 today, but I've felt a bit fried the last couple of days so I decided to take a rest day.
