100 push up challenge

MAYNARDSMOM

Cathlete
Today was my 2nd try at week 3 day 1 - MUCH BETTER!!!! I still had to drop to my knees 1/2way thorugh the max set. (15 - 12-12-10-10-15) I did S&H legs today adding SM band. By the time I got to the push ups my legs were shakin'! Which didn't help with tose push ups!! First time doing the S&H - bought for this months rotation since we do it twice - Yipee

Good Morning!!

I'm doing the same thing as you Tami, repeating week 2 actually...I think it will go much better this week, and THEN I will take the test and see where I am. Today is a rest day for PU's, but have DM Total Body Premix on tap.

Have a good day everyone!

Iris

Week 3...omg!!!!!! I have spaghetti arms!
I used the push-up handles for the 1st set so my totals were...15/12/12/10/15 for a grand total of 64! How did that happen?????? (still on the knees though)

LowerBodySolution? ~ have any of you tried it?worth doing?

OT~ trying to get the truck to the shop today or tomorrow. It may be totaled. My BIL (who runs a huge auto body repair shop)looked at pictures and said based on the damage vs. Kelly blue book the insurance company may total it. :(
Big picture~ hubby & son are fine, no bruises even and venison is on tonite's menu (poetic justice!) but still, a big bummer!

I missed you guys this weekend! Jodi and I had a very nice *chat* however! :D I hope everyone else had a terrific weekend!

Now that my arms stopped shaking I'm off to do some lower body exercise as well as my phys. ther. workout!

Have a good day!

Becky

Iris ~

I think I definately benefited from repeating week 2. Although I didn't do the re-test . We'll see how Day 2 goes.

Morning!

Tami~GREAT! I think as long as we keep getting stronger, repeating is a good thing. I am close to repeating myself! It's been getting tough. Becky, I can relate to the spaghetti arms. I always get them on the max set! I struggle to pull out those last few but today I did them ALL. JUST met my required max! Whew! Here's my numbers for today...Week 4, Day 1, Column 2...

22
16
16
14
22 (required minimum 22) the last one was a tough struggle & VERY SLOOOW coming back up but I did it!

That makes it a total of 90 for today. Funny, as Friday's total was 102! Thank heaven they let you go backwards at times! LOL! Now that I think about it, it's probably because I am working in column 2 this week and not 3 like last week. Okay, do I have you all confused!?!? I am going to try to get thru this week's last 2 days and then, it is time for a retest so we'll see if I progress to week 5 or re-do...

Becky, I am so glad your DH & DS are okay. I can't imagine hitting a deer. From what I have heard, it is like hitting a brick wall. Thank heaven there were no injuries! Also, thank heaven you kept your insurance in full!

Iris, have fun with DM...I love that workout but have never done any it's premixes. Good luck with your next P-U Challenge!

We can do this...it doesn't matter how long it takes to get to the finish line...just the fact we are going at it is what matters. I think this will def help us to be better prepared for STS even if it is just to be able to do SOME pushups on our toes...keep at it girlies!!! :D

kick in the pants!

Ladies, I need a kick in the pants to get back into this one. I was supposed to do it Friday, but didn't feeeeeeeeeeeeel like it (insert whine here). Then Sat there was no workout at all, as I spent all afternoon Halloween decorating. Sunday was PUB, and I had been switching out the chest work for the pushups, but I figured maybe I should actually do the chest work, so I did. And my chest is feeling it today - yowza! That's what I get for skipping the flyes and doing pushups. So I suppose I could do my pushups today, but I don't know that I'd do that many, as I am sore. I've been fixin' to do week 3 day 3 for sometime now and seem to have lost my momentum I guess I could do it on my knees tonight if I am still sore and then repeat on my toes tomorrow. Maybe that would get me back in the saddle. I'm finding this challenge hard to stick with as push ups are not my favorite thing in the world:p But I want to finish this. I'm halfway there. Somebody give me a kick it patootie!!!

Okay Nan!

Since you asked for it...

Now, get busy! LOL!

I think I am in the same boat as you, BUT I am doing the challenges 3X/week. I am just so sore when I start that I think it is hindering me. I have gotten back regularly to my Cathe weight work and I am so sore from flyes and actually, any chest work so when it's time to do my P-U's the muscles are yelling back at me! My pecs always get so sore when I do Cathe chest work...but, we do what we can do...check in later and let me know how you DID! Ha! Take a day or two off if you need...sometimes, we have to do that!

Hi you guys!

Wow, it looks like most of you are moving right along and making steady progress!! WOO HOO!!!

I haven't posted with you since the check-in group was first started but I'm still hanging in there. I just don't have time right now for a lot of check-ins with personals.

I'm progressing laterally on the chart (BTW, I'm using the original challenge, not the modified version). I finished week 2 in the third column on Saturday and I've decided to repeat it. I did all 69 on my toes but I really struggled with the last 3 so I think I'll gain more strength if I repeat the week instead of progressing to week 3.

Good luck everyone!!

Becky- A bit off topic......but I think I read you lived in SC? Just curious as to whereabouts? I lived in spartanburg/greenville for 8 years....I loved it ( and miss it)

It's so good to see everyone back on board! Missed you! :D

Nan~ it took me 3 weeks to complete the 1st 2 weeks and 2nd test. Just keep plugging away, you'll get that 3rd day in soon! Don't beat yourself up, it's not like you've stopped working out completely! Although I wish I could find those cute figures Debbie has! :D

Iris ~ I'm in Clover, north of Rock Hill, south of Charlotte. We've been here just over a year and I love it!!!!!! I actually met someone on the board who lives just about 3 miles from me! Our oldest daughter is in Columbia @ USC. The middle one isn't sure where she wants to go, but the youngest is already planning on College of Charleston!

Debbi ~ thanks again for the LBS link! and for the good wishes! DH said it was like hitting a wall but somehow the airbags didn't deploy which was ok in this situation, he was able to drive it home.

Tami~ I don't have Bryan Kest, but I found Baron Baptiste's Power Yoga VHS tapes at the Dollar Tree. They had the 1st & 3rd. I like them a lot! I think his style is similar to Kest?

I'm going to go make DH his birthday cake! The big 4-0! I don't have to worry about eating it today b/c I think I overdid vitamins/supplements this morning cuz I feel like crap! Very queasy and icky! That's what I get for jumping back into them headfirst! Oh,well, it'll save me from my sweet tooth today! :p

Hi everyone!

Off day today; might play some Dance Dance Revolution later with DH just to burn a few calories for fun.:)

WTG ladies!!! Love to see how everyone is progressing! Re: repeating weeks, I'm doing week 5 now but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to repeat it. It looks like if I can't do 60 in a row for the next test at the end of the week, I should go back and repeat. So we'll see.

Nan, you can do it!!:D I agree that pushups are not my favorite thing either, but just think how proud of yourself you will be when you've done it!! Hang in there!

edit: Becky, today is DS's birthday too! I think I've seen enough Pokemon to last me for a looooong time!

Now, get busy! LOL!

Thanks, I needed that! I did Bento's ASC tonight and it has a lot of arm movement in it, which really helped loosen up my chest. Just the part where my chest meets my arm pits is sore in the pushups, so not too bad. But I did them tonight. Really wanted to slack, but since you took all the time finding the kicking smiley, I couldn't disappoint.

So, here I am checking in with 20/15/15/12/20 for a grand total of 82!! Woo-hoo!!! And I'm done for the evening - woohoo again!!

Nan
