Hey Ladies-

I missed posting here yesterday. The last few days were decidedly cheat days, due to dinner commitments and a bag of DS Halloween candy that 'attacked' me while vacuuming/ picking up DS's room. Life goes on, and Y'day I ran 9.5 miles anyway.

Nice going on the losers.

Robin- I am sorry about your new procedure at work being so stressful. Are you working this weekend?

What are the rest of you up to today?

I have a short 30 minute cardio planned or a walk. DE is on call so no dinner out tonight. We need a date. We have had too many weekends of hockey, DE working or family guests here.

Lanie- did the migraine appear or did you successfully avoid it?

Hello All:

Way to go Judy on the 9.5 miles. I'm just getting back into running -- SLOWLY getting back into it. I can't wait until the day that I can post I ran 9.5 miles!! That will be just as good as the day I post I lost the 10 pounds! :)

Lainie -- I hope you didn't get the migraine yesterday -- those are a real bummer!

Okay, I'm going to try and be strong today. We will be running around with the kids all day -- and that usually means eating on the go.

I'll be thinking of all of you today!
Michelle

Judy - I was with you in spirit this morning... I ran 8.

I hear ya on the date night. I just got my SO's schedule for the next few weeks and I'll be surprised if I recognize him at Christmas.

Michelle - good luck avoiding the junk while you're out. It really shouldn't be so darn hard to find decent food choices, should it?

Okay, today is busy for me - running around, housework and then Sophie's birthday party at 4.

I hope everyone has a great day and let's stay strong!

Good morning melters!

I have a busy weekend on tap, as I'm sure most of you do. I have a lot to do to prepare for Thanksgiving. I did major grocery shopping yesterday and ordered my dinner rolls (rosemary -- they are so YUMMY!), and my Turkey...and my pumpkin pie. I know, it's cheesy to buy a pie for Thanksgiving, but the pies from this particular bakery are so good, and I can't improve upon their recipe. I'll take the help wherever I can get it ;) :p

Today is a rest day but if I can squeeze in the time I might do a Cardio Coach workout on my elliptical. I did a walking workout yesterday with the 4DS shoulders, calves, and core -- my weakest areas and my least favorite to work. Tomorrow is bis and tris.

Judy - ^5's on your run!!! I'm sure that more than made up for your little candy binge -- lol!!

Michelle with 2 L's - I know just what you mean about "eating on the go". UGH! I was in that situation yesterday and ended up driving through Wendy's  . I forced myself to order wisely (as wisely as you can at Wendy's -- lol!). I was right at the point where if I didn't eat something I was going to get a migraine. I'm sending many powerful vibes your way to help you avoid the crap~~~~

Shelley - ^5's for your run, too!!! Please give Sophie a big ole birthday hug and smooch from me :*

Lainie - I hope you were able to avert the evil migraine. There's nothing more debilitating, is there!? Sometimes an icey cold coke will nip it in the bud if I drink it right at the onset.

My best wishes to everyone for a melty weekend :)

Good Morning All!:)

Wow, you runners amaze me, I used to love to run, even trained for a half marathon years ago, but now I am not supposed to with my new hip....I am pretty happy making it through the Imax yesterday though! When I ran I could eat pretty much anything and still stay lean, it truly is the best exercise for leaning out-in my opinion:) You go girls!

Have fun at the party today Shelley.Happy Birthday to Sophie:+

Hi to everyone else, stay the course today!:D

Oh, and I planned on baking my own pies, but like your suggestion much better Michele, maybe I will check out a local bakery.

Good morning again all!

Michele - those dinner rolls sounds awesome!! Okay, I need to think veggies -- not bread! :) Wendy's is my kids' favorite -- so we will probably be driving through there today too. :(

Shelley - Happy Birthday to Sophie. Wow, 10 -- that a big one. Mine are 8 and 9. I love this age -- they can do enough on their own, but still need mom around. The scary thing is they both notice what I eat AND what I don't. The other night I was skimping on dinner and my son was kept asking, "Why aren't you eating mom?" Made me realize that I need to focus on healthy eating for me AND them.

Gotta run! And I wish that meant I gotta go run my 5 miles !! ha ha. (Someday!)
Michelle

Morning! Or is it afternoon? I've been pretty busy this morning and have lost track of time. I'm also doing my best to postpone 4DS BC, which I find the hardest of the new series.

I, too, am impressed with the numbers of miles you guys log. In the day when I ran almost everyday, I rarely did more than 5 miles. These day, I'm lucky to pound out 2, even though I think I am fitter then those younger days.

OK, I'm done with my cheat week and ready to start again. Isn't life grand. You can wake up everyday and start your life all over again. I probably won't reach our group goal by Christmas, but I'll be happy to get the scale moving in the right direction again. I hope you all have a struggle-free weekend.

Hi meltie ladies. I didn't post yesterday either, though I had plenty of free time to do so. I think since DH and I have tightened the budget, I've been getting these terrible urges to shop. I must have spent three hours online and in catalogues last night looking at exercise videos, clothes and shoes. I was good and didn't buy anything, but did get as far as having one or two things in my shopping cart but then thought the better of it and didn't buy. What's so funny is that I'm not one of those gals who really likes to shop. Why is it we're so drawn to the things we know we shouldn't do?

Judy: I hope the calories expended cleaning DS's room offsets the candy calories consumed in the process.

Shelley: Enjoy your party this afternoon!

Tneah: Sounds like you are on the ball with your Thanksgiving preparations. I still haven't shopped yet. Enjoy your rest day.

Lainie: I must have been having sympathy pains for you yesterday. I very rarely get a headache but one started yesterday afternoon at work. Hope you aren't coming down with something!

Robin: I'll be there with you working on these 10 pounds after Christmas, trust me. Even being super strict with my eating, the weight just doesn't come off as easily as it did when I was younger. Gaining weight is really easy, though :(

Deb: I hope your HRM isn't crapping out. Mine will give a reading of 00 when it gets some stray interference with something else electrical. When I run, there's a place in my neighborhood where mine craps out all the time (think it's high tension wires doing it). I've also heard some people say their HRM is affected when they get too close to their TV. If your batteries are fresh, you probably don't have anything to worry about.

B: Your comment about doing weights and losing slowly got me thinking. I wonder if I should move to an endurance based weight workout instead of using heavier weights? What type weight work are you doing now?

Two-L Michelle: Loved your comment about the 'simple' ways to lose weight! How true! Years ago I just thought all I had to do was avoid candy or cake and jump around at aerobics class a few times a week and I'd be in bikini shape. Maybe some genetically-fortunate people can do that but for me and most others in the world 'simple' ain't the word. Sometimes I get depressed and think that maybe the only way to lose 10 pounds is just to quit eating all together!

One-L Michele: Love your 'panic' smilie! WTG on losing the off the waist! Beware of the scale, though. The constant fluctuations, even though you expect them, can make you crazy.

Well I'd better get of my you-know-what and do my workout. The last couple weekends I've been working on some of the complex step videos that I've had for a while but haven't learned yet - particularly Patrick Goudeau and Seasun Zeiger. I'll do my weight work first to get that out of the way. Today is 4DS Bis and Tris.

Sorry for the long post!

Good Afternoon Fellow Melters!

Today is a rest day for me, errands to run etc. I start another week of using the 4DS as a 3 day split tomorrow.

Judy:
Wow! 9.5 miles? That is great.:7

Michelle:
You be strong girl! Think about what you will feel like typing all the bad stuff if you cave in.;-)

Shelley:
Have fun at the party and no cake for you!

Tneah:
Imax with a replaced hip is pretty darn good! I don;t make pies either.. I get my SIL to make them! She is the best pie maker in the family anyway and everyone now expects here to bring them.

Michele:
Do you like the Cardio Coachs elipticals? I have an I-Climb, its a circuit workout where you are on the elipitical for a bit, then he has you doing some weight work, then back on the eliptical etc. It's 40 minutes and from all my HRM calorie tracking, I think this is the one I burned the most calories on!

Robin:
I have never done the 4DS BC, . Have only done the warm ups for all the cardio sections. The kickbox seems pretty good. I may use that one for a cardio day. I think just having a goal and striving for it is a good thing!

TK:
Don't you hate how easy it is to shop on line? I bought shoes from Zappos today and some capri sweat pants from Lands End..I always have some rationalization for doing so! Ebates had 12% rebate on Zappos plus a $5 bonus rebate if you used Ebates before DEc 1, and Lands End had free shipping regardless of the size of order... so I HAD to buy this stuff!:+ I wonder what could be interferring with my HRM..The only things electrical are the treadmill and my MP3 player.. hmmm. I wonder..Good luck with those complex step videos!

Have a great day... will check in tomorrow.

Deb;-)

Hi everyone. Busy (but boring) day here, so I'm going to try to make my post into a quick list:

1) Yes, I did get a migraine yesterday, though it wasn't one of the more severe ones since I took some meds as soon as I got the aura.

2) Today DS#2 and I both have low fevers and I have another headache (but mild).

3) Same DS fell down the stairs for some high drama first thing this morning.

4) He's fine, just a little bruised.

5) We took a family trip to the grocery store today. I hate shopping on Saturday. Ugh.

6) I'm taking a rest day today and I'll do more upper body work tomorrow.

7) I'm unhappy about not being able to do much cardio and envy the runners!

8) Gotta go now answer some emails and work on my blog and stuff.

Lanie- I how it all gets better soon!

Shelly- Great job on 8 miles!

Deb- Lucky you for no pie making! I some how got pegged as the pie bringer. We used to buy them from a church fund raiser ( from a local orchard - YUM!) , but now the fund raiser is gone and I have to make them x( x( x(

Hey ladies!

Well, the birthday party is done and I had a tiny piece of cake. I didn't eat much all day though and just had some veggie soup for dinner at the restaurant.

Lainie - sounds like a rough couple of days. I hate shopping on Saturdays too.

Judy - I love baking pies but I have a feeling that if I HAD to do it all the time for family functions, it would get old pretty quickly.

Well, I'm in my comfy clothes and just chilling for the evening.

Deb: You are an enabler, you know. You had to tell me about ebates special with Zappos! I only bought one pair, I swear...}(
