10 Challenge - September 17

Dayna - Some days it's a handful, some days, three handsful! :p It's those candy corn pumpkins that get me everytime - I LOVE them!
Laura - Feel better soon - or maybe you don't want to - FOUR pounds??!! Man, that's not fair!!;) You're almost half way over with the challenge and the week isn't even over! But I do hope the meds work and you're back to your routine soon.:)

Linda - I weigh myself Saturday morning and it's not my rest day. Sunday is.

Diane - I agree with everything Linda said. Maybe do Meso 1 for another week and then incorporate total body workouts about twice a week, a circuit workout once a week and cardio the rest of the week. Take one day off for rest.

Hi All!
I really do want to post in this challange...I'm just getting a late start!! I've been sick the past couple of days...although no weight loss :p

Where do you find the ticker? I have been looking aand looking on the sight and can't find it!!

OK my motivation is up, I will post my day later!!

Shellie :)

Debbie and Linda,
Thanks for the advice.

Debbie: I was thinking of doing your Basic/Intermediate/Advanced 12 week rotation and then doing a six month rotation of STS. Do you think that would work or should I continue to do full body/circuit rotations until I'm close to my goal weight?

Thanks again!
Diane

M1: ON whey protein shake w/ 1/2 c. blueberries (post workout)
M2: Whipped Vanilla BSN w/ 1/2 c. oats & 1 tbsp. Naturally More PB

Actually, that would probably be very beneficial to you. The after you get that rotation done, take a whole week off and then start STS.

I'm back. I'm doing pretty good with the eating but only worked out twice so far this week, Monday and today. I've lost a little but my weight goes up and down like crazy day to day. I cannot figure out how to add the tracker. I'm sure there are instructions somewhere but between these forums, FB, my blog and twitter the computer is taking over my life!
Since I seem to having so much trouble getting the workouts in I've decided to go easy on myself. Today I did LIS premix form 4ds. I figure 30 minutes is better than nothing.

Hi Ladies!
I've a pretty good day so far - no major food slip ups, but I do feel like I'm having a really hard time cutting out carbs. I know thats what works for me and that if I can get the bread intake under control, the scale will go way down - but that's so much easier said than done! I have a busy afternoon planned - I'm going to do a Leslie Sansone walk DVD, then go take an arms class, then dinner, then walk of the route of the 5k that I'm attempting to do on Saturday.

I've had the same battle of whether or not to weigh myself on some mornings - this morning I felt like I had lost a little bit, but it hadn't budged from yesterday. I think I'm going to really work on cutting out the bread over the weekend and not weigh myself again until Monday morning... Hopefully it will be good news!

I'm starting a 2 week teaching "field experience" this Monday, and will be in a preschool classroom from 8:30 am until 4 pm for two weeks straight - that should really cut down on my snacking!!! I will have to pack a lunch, something that I haven't had to do for quite awhile. Any suggestions? I recently discovered Arnold's bread thins and am loving those for sandwiches - but again, here we go with bread ... What are your favorite packable, low carb, lunches?

Taylor

Denise, you posted a couple days ago about which workout to choose. About a month ago, someone posted about circuit workouts being effective for fat loss, so I decided that I would just do a circuit rotation. There are SO many to choose from (I had no idea how many I had) and there's even a premix on 4DS to make it a circuit w/o. This has helped me have some sort of focus - at least I feel like I'm choosing something for a purpose. Instead of my usual, "I guess I'll do this one...."

Thanks for the input, Dayna. I don't know why I'm so unfocused. A few weeks ago I decided to start STS again, so I did 2 workouts and decided I'd rather wait for Shock Cardio and start it then. I recently got 4DS, so I decided I'd do a 4DS rotation. This worked for a few days, then on Tuesday I was going to do another premix. I put in the DVD, then decided against it. So then I tried Muscle Endurance, decided I didn't feel like doing that one because I'd done Bootcamp the night before... so I ended up doing Cathe Basic Step and nothing else... Yesterday I started back with Gym Style - and hopefully I can develop some sort of plan! I do love circuits, so I'm thinking of inserting them with the Gym Style. I guess as long as I'm moving something, it's better than nothing!!!

Is it possible to have workout ADD????:D Being on here helps a lot!!!!

Hey Taylor,

I pack my lunch every day, and it becomes a challenge to find interesting things sometimes. Here are some of my staples:

fresh fruit (I'll bring in 5 apples just so I have them available during the week)
low fat cottage cheese
cut up veggies (celery, peppers, carrots, cucumbers)
hummus
chicken breast
turkey
shrimp
dips made with greek yogurt (for the veggies)
almond butter
protein pancakes
Anything left over from dinner the night before.

I'd love to see anyone else's ideas.....as I said it can be a challenge.

Well it's time to come clean....I had a slip up this afternoon and had a cookie :( Yes it tasted good but it really wasn't worth the guilt I'm feeling now. I don't know why I sabotage myself like this, I'm quite disappointed with my lack of willpower. I guess the best thing to do now is not to dwell on it and move on, right?

In terms of workouts I did workout consistently the last 4 days and plan on a workout tonight as well (although not sure what it will be yet). I think I have workout ADD too!

Tomorrow is another day.......

Keep up the good work everyone!:D

Maggie - I don't mean to diminish your feeling of guilt about eating a cookie, but why feel guilty? There is no way that I'm going through life never eating another cookie. I'm giving you a ^5 for stopping at one. Now that's willpower!!! :D I think it would be more of a problem if you ate the whole package...

Meals for today:

M1: 1/2 c oatmeal made w/1/4 c 1% milk; medium iced coffee w/skim milk & 2 equal
M2: chili
M3: apple & string cheese. My grocery store had Jazz apples this week. Has anyone ever heard of these? I haven't. Juiciest apple I've ever had. It was delish!!
M4: 6" turkey sub on wheat w/lettuce, pickles, onions & fat-free honey mustard; 1 bag baked Lay's.

Have a great night!!

Late check in for me.

I didn't work out this morning only a 1mi. walk with the puppy.
I had a dentist appointment and found out I need a root canal for that pain in my mouth.

I ate well except for the little slip up with some kettle chips. (they were UTZ sweet potato, purple and russet salted with sea salt) Not as bad as other kinds but not on the plan for today.

My DS(8yrs old) has been getting up every night and sometimes not going back to sleep. I feel like a walking zombie. But then I drink coffee and here I am at 1030pm typing.

Everyone is doing so well.

Laura: I hope you feel better.

I can't buy those candy corn becasue I would eat the whole bag. I wouldn't even share!

okay off to bed I go.

Thanks Melissa, I like your way of looking at it, it definitely could have been worse :). After posting I got a grip and got over it. No point beating myself up. Instead I went home and did upper body and abs from Squeeze Stronger followed by a 30 minute run.:D

Hi all

Hope I've found the right thread. Well no change on the weight. Still 12 stone or 168 pounds. Yesterday I had a slip up. I fell asleep (new meds) and awoke with an urge for carbs. Ended eating a bowl of muesli with skimmed milk. I had done Imax 2 but that really didn't help. My workouts have been good lately. Went to the gym today worked legs and shoulders.

Eats:
Meal 1: Oatmeal, 1 egg and two egg whites
Meal 2: Protein shake with banana
Meal 3; Post workout CNP Recovery shake from gym
Meal 4: Salad, tuna, pulses and 1 egg orange
Meal 5: 250g low fat yogurt grapes.
Meal 6: Whey and cottage cheese.

Laura
