Good Morning!

I'm ready to do Gym Style Legs this morning. Love this workout! I did pretty good with food yesterday until a party last night... I'm kind of mad at myself that I ate a little more than I wanted to, but I don't think I ate as much as I usually would, so I guess that's good! Today's another day. And I've got another challenge because my friend and I are going to lunch. Why does all fun stuff have to revolve around food? Arrrggghhhh....

Therese, good luck with dinner! I'm sure you'll be good! Congrats on staying on track yesterday!

Take care everyone and here's to making the right choices today!

Morning all! This morning I did In the Ring with Amy Bento. Very fun workout!!! Burned over 400 calories.

Be back later with my meals. Hope you all have a great day!

Denise,

I know what you mean...I'm Italian and everything revolves around food! :p When my family and friends get together we never leave the kitchen :D.

Don't feel bad about last night just focus on today!

Debbie,
My hats are off to you ladies that workout in the morning...I would have to get up at 4:30 am in order to make that happen and always have grand plans the night before but when the morning comes.....well I always roll over. I get a better workout at night.

Therese

Wow, Therese, great job on eating yoghurt. Those munchies are hard to work through!

This is pretty much what I eat every day:

B: 1/2c oatmeal, 4 oz turkey sausage, coffee with 1/4c soy milk, protein & fiber drink
S: protein & fiber drink
L: Zone bar, protein & fiber drink (I should eat a better lunch here, which would be veggies and meat and a piece of fruit, but I'm always on the go)
S: protein & fiber drink, coffee with 1/4c soy milk
D: 8 oz salad, 4 oz chicken or lean meat, low-carb dressing, sprinkle of pine nuts
S: protein jello + couple TB of peanut butter with a few choc chips (definitely not on my plan, need to work on this!)

One of my biggest challenges in terms of diet is that I'm allergic to eggs and whey (all dairy). I'm kind of forced into a rut.

Denise, you posted a couple days ago about which workout to choose. About a month ago, someone posted about circuit workouts being effective for fat loss, so I decided that I would just do a circuit rotation. There are SO many to choose from (I had no idea how many I had) and there's even a premix on 4DS to make it a circuit w/o. This has helped me have some sort of focus - at least I feel like I'm choosing something for a purpose. Instead of my usual, "I guess I'll do this one...."

Hi ladies. No weight loss yet for me. I'm still trying to settle on an eating plan that I can live with. I'm trying to up my protein today and see how that feels. Once I get an eating approach worked out, then I'll start cutting the calories.

I'm not gaining, and I have gone down a little bit as of this morning, but nothing major.

Dayna - I'm adding more circuits into my schedule too and am hoping that helps. I normally do alternating cardio days and weights days but am mixing it up now.

Good Morning Everyone!!

Today I did Imax Extreme but didn't do the weight sections, only cardio. I do this alot with this workout - that way I get a kick butt cardio session! After that, I did Barry's Bootcamp Arms and Abs. I wanted to get a little weight work in since I didn't workout yesterday and it was supposed to be Muscle Endurance. I burned 520 calories.

My eating was pretty good yesterday. I was really hungry and felt like eating every hour, but I didn't thanks to this check in!:D But at night I did have a box of cracker jacks and a handful of candy corn. One day at a time . . . . . . :p

Therese - I envy those of you who workout at night. If I don't workout first thing in the morning (and it is 4:30 for me!! LOL that you said that!), then I just won't do it. I have the best intentions, but something always comes up and it won't get done.

Have great workouts and good eats everyone!!
Erin

Hi girls,

This moring I went to an hour long walk with my dogs. I will go to the gym tomorrow. I miss my weight lifting, getting tired of doing cardo every day.
Still going strong with my eating! No junk!

Denise, don't beat yourself up! I have those day's too.Today is another day. You can do this!;)

Great workouts, ladies! Eat clean!:)

Ended up with KPC this morning. It felt great. I missed my weight workout yesterday due to time constraints, so I will get tris and bis in this afternoon. Eating has been decent, although for some reason I was starving all day yesterday. Choices were clean, but volume got a bit out of whack.

Here's whats on the agenda for food today
B-egg whites, blueberries
S- cottage cheese, small plum
L- chicken breast, green beans
S-almond butter, apple
D- Salmon, veggies

Good luck with dinner Therese, Great job with the workouts folks

Debbie, I have had In the Ring for months and still haven't tried it. I think I'll put that on the Saturday cardio agenda.

Have a great day.

Hey ladies! Well, this week has turned into kind of a rest week for me since I've been so sick. I did make it to the gym Tues so I've gotten my tri/shoulder & leg/chest routines in, but no back/bis or cardio. Saw the doc yesterday & he thinks it might be food poisoning. The result has been a 4 lb weight loss. I guess if I have to suffer at least I'm getting something out of it.

So I'm on meds & should hopefully be back on the horse this w/e. This can't last forever, right?

Oh Melissa, you must try ITR! That is one of my favorite DVDs ever!

Laura
oh feel better Laura....I know what you mean when you say at least you are getting something out of it ;) Last year I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled and I was in pain for a week! but at least I lost weight then...

Erin - my hats is off to you lady...I wish I could drag my a$$ out of bed at 4:30 am....:p

Therese

Good morning all,

Didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. DD forgot a book she needed for class, so I had to run that to the college and then DS had a breakdown during Calculus so we had to spend an extra hour doing Math. It seemed like everytime I would start to check in one of my kids would have some sort of melt down and off I'd go to "save the day".

O.K. so now I have to confess my workouts this week have stunk. My food is spot on, but I didn't workout yesterday or today. I'm not sure why I do this to myself. When I wake up in the morning my brain says work out later, but I know later will never come. If I don't work out first thing I get to involved with other things and it doesn't get done. I know this, so why do I talk myself out of it. UGH!

I'd also like an opinion from smarter people than myself, so here goes. I started STS on Monday, but then I've been reading on the boards that if you have alot of weight to lose that total body workouts are better to burn the fat and that STS isn't really for beginners. Do you guys think I'd be better off doing full body workouts until I lose the majority of the weight? I have almost all of Cathe's DVD's so that's not a problem. So what do ya'll think?

Thanks,
Diane

Hi everyone!

I was very tempted to weigh myself this morning because I feel great, like I may have lost a little. But that scale can be mean...

There have been so many times that I've felt great and weighed myself only to find that either I didn't lose anything or even worse, gained. And that is very discouraging. So I decided not to weigh myself and just enjoy feeling like l'm losing...:D

Tonight we have soccer practice and open house at DD's school. I told DD and DH that we could have Subway tonight in between the two. They wanted pizza, but I cannot be trusted around a pizza, so I suggested Subway. They are very excited! And that should fill their eating-out quota for the week, so all is good!

BBL to post my meals. My posting my meals around 8:00 has really been helping me with the night-time snacking. It's almost like as soon as I post it that's it, story over, can't go back and add to it!!

Keep up the good work ladies!!!

Laura- I hope you feel better soon. Your comment made me think of that movie the Devil wears Prada. Did you ever see it? One of my favorite quotes from Emily Blunt: She is sick and Anne Hathaway tells her she looks good. She says: "Thanks, I'm just one stomach virus away from my goal weight"

Had a good week. I weigh tomorrow. I usually weight myself everyday but I am trying to not be obsessive, so I havent weighed since friday. Its been really hard-LOL

I did plyo legs-disc 26. I forgot how hard that was.
I did Imax 2 yesterday. Love that one.

Have a great day

How far into STS are you? The first 4 weeks is good for fat burning since it's endurance. Are you seeing any results? If you are, I say keep going with this rotation. Maybe you should do the 6 month rotation where each Meso cycle is done twice instead of once.

Following up ...

Erin - a handful of candy corn? I am so impressed .... my kids keep bugging me to buy it, but it'll be one of those things where they have a few pieces and then wonder where the rest of the bag went.

Laura - I really hope you feel better soon. Food poisoning? Eck.

Melissa - I think the scale can be such an evil thing. I have to be in a very happy place for it to not mess with my head!

Debbie - I buy these little packets of protein gel from Metabolic Research Center. Then I mix them with Knox, following the directions on the Knox package. So if I use 4 packets of protein, I use 4 packets of Knox, and I think it's 4 cups of water. It ends up making 5 servings. Throughout the day I mix the gel with water, and it really cuts down on any hunger and keeps my blood sugar from tanking.

Here's an online source that sells the same stuff (look for Orange Drink Mix, etc.). FYI the creamy chocolate shake is SO good. I'm not seeing the hot chocolate, but that's good, too.

This is my first week of STS. I've only done week 1 disc 1. I was planning on doing the 6 month rotation, but then I started reading about full body and circuit rotations being better if you have alot to lose.

Thanks for any input.

Melissa - I could have written this post! LOL! I am trying to decide when I will get up the nerve to weigh myself, because my problem is if any of teh above happen I get completely depressed and say the heck with it and eat everything in site! Thanks for sharing!

Diane - I agree with Debbie that Meso 1 is pretty intense even for splits because it moves so fast. But otherwise full body workouts are better because you get better calorie burns and metabolism boost that you don't get with doing just small muscle group isolation exercise. I got great calorie burns with Meso 1 as far as STS being for the advanced I disagree, you just need to work with weights right for you.

Debbie - When do you weigh yourself? On your rest day?

Eating is still going well, sometimes I think I eat a bit too much, but hey no junk so I am happy at this point. Woke up starving this morning though! My legs are really sore from Plyo Legs so I did 4 DS HIS/LIS. Workout was 56 minutes and I burned 428 calories.
