10# Challenge 10/12

So here I go again. I knew this would happen. Once I hit 134# I can't get down any lower. I gained a pound last week.  Damn, I thought this time would be different. I've been going through this all summer. I just don't understand why my body won't release this extra weight. It's only 4-5# and I just don't get it.

So I'm very frustrated to say the least...

Hi Debbie, I'm new to the check-in. Sorry about your frustration.

I did the Drill Max cardio/lower body premix this morning. I haven't done that one in forever; it felt good. I have a kettlebell workout on tap for this afternoon. I have to prepare for my AOS cert.

Have a great day everyone!

Debbie I'm stuck too. I know your frustration.

Well - and I made croissants yesterday so that didn't help. Still I was able to run both days this weekend so that helped the output side of my calorie equation.

I didn't weight myself today but will tomorrow. I'm still hoping to break 150 this week but it will take a lot of effort.

Hey, Debbie, I feel your pain. I felt like I ate well all week, but when I jumped on the scale I was up 1#.:confused::mad:. Then of course have to start wearing the fall wardrobe and I am finding nothing fits.:mad: I was so depressed I was ready to say the hell with it all. So I am desperately trying not to give in. :(

I have to echo your posts. I did great all week, scale is not moving!!!!!! I refuse to give in, and I will be 10 pounds less soon!! My fall pants are a bit snug too, so that is my ultimate goal, get back in those comfortably.

Rest day yesterday. Meso 1, disc 6 legs is the plan right now. Maybe some cardio after work. Bento's surge should be here today!!!

Have a great afternoon!

Wow, me too Linda. I have on a pair of my Victoria Secret Hipster jeans that I wore last year and they are so damn tight. I got them on, but they have never been this tight before. Very frustrating. I also ate well all week and my workouts were excelelnt. I just don't get it. Sometimes I just feel like saying "eff it!!!"

Someone on another forum that I'm on stopped lifting weights (although I never see myself doing this) and started to do only yoga and running. She is down to her lowest weight ever. In fact, she's worried about the drop in weight. It's like HELLO!!! Just enjoy it for goodness sakes!!!!

Almost - ALMOST makes me want to do just yoga and running.

Okay, so this is where I find myself.....my mother used to say "Sh*t or get off the pot." I know I said that I was going to take it slow but I am going at a snail's pace!! I didn't mean that slow!

Two things that have stalled any progress are I stopped all cardio because of my PF - just can't go that route. I am doing the 3 days of STS but I just need that cardio burn on another 3 days so I started back running yesterday. I posted on the OD forum recently to get opinions and most runners ran through it, made some adjustments, etc. So that is what I am doing. Will just run shorter distances for about 30 to 40 minutes and see how it goes.

Secondly, not only is fall my favorite time for running, it is my favorite time for cooking. So I have been cooking up and storm and then eating far too much!!

I've got to make some changes or I will never get back into my clothes. I am tired of wearing the same 3 pants!!

Debbie - don't beat yourself up. That pound will come back off and more if you just keep it up. It's just the way our bodies work. And as far as your friend who is doing yoga and running - is the drop in weight because she has lost muscle mass or is she noticeably smaller too? I am curious about it.

And from the rest of the posts, it sounds as if just about everyone is in the same boat. Let's all try and hang in there!

I did STS Disc 10 today. Was worried I wasn't going to get through it since both my boys are home today. I never burn nearly the calories that the workout manager says I should burn. Anybody know why that is?

Debbie, have you tried inserts in your shoes??? Could you have flat feet and not know it? Sometimes an arch will help with that kind of foot problem. Just trying to pick your brain.

And I think that yes, she has lost muscle mass. I think that goes hand-in-hand with dropping the weight training. I haven't seen pics of her lately, I wish she'd post some. She is built like me, and actually, our bodies tend to do the same thing. She's definitely a meso like I am. But I refuse to stop lifting. I love it too much. And although I love yoga, I know it would bore me after a while.

Yes, I have inserts in every shoe I wear. This is my 3rd bout with PF so I am doing the stretching on my own during the day and with a stretching splint at night. Icing the heel and rolling my arch on a frozen water bottle, etc. It's just taking too long to go away this time but I am going to grin and bear it.

Have had my feet checked and have a normal arch and my stride shows no pronation.

I just got lazy running this summer. Shortened my stretching time, went around barefoot, and all of that. I tell you, once I get this healed, I hope I have finally learned my lesson!!

By the way, I tried pilates once after the birth of one of my boys and fell asleep on the floor!!! I tried yoga last year around this time and threw my back out and was completely incapacitated for days!!

Somehow weight lifting and running don't bother my back - so I am going to stick with those two along with some of Cathe's cardio during extreme cold and hot temperatures.

By the way, how is your Mom doing?

I'm right there with the rest of you - feeling like this is so hard! So far, I'm down, but it's a struggle. Wonder if there really is a set point? Do different body types need different exercises?
Did anyone read the article in yesterday's NYTimes Magazine section on calorie reduction? It was interesting, but now way could I do it for two years even with all their support. Well, then again, maybe with support...
Debbie, I've also been cooking and baking up a storm. Can't run tho cause of piriformis issues, and I miss it.
Still planning food in advance in writing it down the night before. That seems to really help me.
