1 yr. Smoke Free

Cathlete
I made it I quit last June 25th and today is my anniversary.
It has been a challenge. The good news is I feel 100 times better I enjoy my workouts more. I don't smell.
I felt like such a hypocrite before exercising and telling everyone I was so healthy but yet smoking. Yes, I did gain some weight even though I tried not to over eat. I was a bear at times and my fuse was short. I am so happy to be part of society that doesn't smoke and yes I hate the smell of smoke and don't like to be around anyone smoking. So if you smoke QUIT! It isn't easy but it is so worth it.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Susan! What a great accomplishment. (Especially since the no smoking ban is in effect everywhere too!) Thanks for sharing. I am so happy for you.

Congratulations!

Good for you, that is very hard to do. Give it another year or two and you will be able to relax from there on in. Yep, it took me that long to get rid of the clutch of cig. addiction. I'm proud of you.

The idea is to die young as late as possible

congradulations!!! this is a huge accomplishment. unfortunately my father died 5 yrs ago at the age of 53 from lung cancer and when we drove him to the hospital as his lungs were filling up with fluid he had the nerve to ask for a cigarette:( it is a terrible addiction. my brother smokes even though we watched what happened to my father. he has terrible lungs and coughs all the time. he's only 31 and i feel like i may be going through the same situation again someday. i never picked up a cigarette b/c lung cancer runs in my family. i don't drink b/c alcoholism runs in my family. anyways, congrats again.:)
