Cathlete
Morning, cheetahs— :D :D :D

Happy Friday!

Carole—I hear you about Kramer. Hard for me to pick a favorite among those four. George is a riot, too. On one of our ski trips, the crew entertained ourselves deciding which one of us was a certain Seinfeld character. Can you guess which one I was? J How’re those legs DOMS? Still lingering?

Posh—*LOL* ‘bout the huts on fire. What a great expression. Got a few of those on the workfront meself. I’ll bet you keep your co-workers entertained. Why don’t you come be a teacher in NJ and deal with lots and lots of little F’s? *LOL* I need the yoga badly! Somehow in the past weeks, I’ve gotten all crunched up and tight. Still got a hammy that squawks to me on-and-off…Yes, I do have the 305. Let me know how you like the training partner. Too bad we can’t sync with one another. Two turtles on opposite coasts. J

*smile*

Jackie—That running-to-the-spot trick is tried n’ true good stuff…Ha, that title was just a little verbal irony on my part. J…I have not had a chance to run at school yet. First time, I forgot my running shoes. The week after, I had a nutty week and only ran on the weekend. Last week, I didn’t run in the rain. Yesterday, it poured again. Hasn’t been in the cards yet. But that is still my intent to do that 1 or 2 days a week as we move through winter in order to take advantage of the lighter hours.

Linda—I am having fun with the DIY circuits. New way to use the workouts and keep things fresh. Hey, the running up & down the stairs could be part of the workout for you. J I know what you mean about the awkward feeling.

Brighton—yay on getting back to the gym! So happy for you. Crossing my fingers, too, that the foot will stay happy. A thing at my school is to name your classes, and mine are named after ski resorts: Breck, Vail, Killington, and Okemo. I missed the pics on your blog. Gotta go check ‘em out.

Wendy—hope your back is feeling better today.

Gloria—great to see you, girl! We are gettin’ our butts spanked with “everything new,” too. Have fun jumping around today & happy Friday!! No doubt at all you will do great with your marathon!

More rain for us last night, so I did my duty on the TM and then scrapped the yoga for B&G Leg Blast Premix instead. All the B&G talk inspired me to torment myself. Owwwwwwwww! J *LOL* Tonight’s workout is tentative. Grades are due this afternoon, and I have plans to grab some cold ones after with some friends from school.

Have a bad-azz one! :)

TGIF!

Morning Cheetahs!:)

I took a rest day in EVERY sense of the word yesterday. I didn't work out, I did no housework, and I was not on the computer much at all either. I was on the couch in front of the boob tube or curled up in my bed. Between my back and the bug that's been haunting' me, I felt crappy/tired and decided to just give into it and really rest. It felt good for a change.

I'm up early today though. I'm not 100% but feeling much better and ready to tackle B&G this morning!

Linda: Glad the power went back on that atleast by that night so you didn't have to freeze overnight again. I've never heard of "The Wave". Is it a new Firm work out??

Brighton: So glad to hear that you are out of the boot! Sounds like you had an awesome first work out. Be careful, don't overdo and you'll be back to full-speed in no time! So I guess your kids like the girls that work in the babysitting area in the gym? All of the kids like us but some of the moms don't. I roll my eyes cause the moms that don't are the kind that are just NEVER happy and expect waaaay too much out of a little gym babysitting room. Oh well. Thanks for the hugs. I think they worked! My back is better today! :)

Gloria: The back is better today, thanks. I can feel a little soreness still but not like y'day. I'm not afraid to work out today. Good job on the yoga and the runs! Perhaps the trend will continue tonight! :) Oh I LOVE grilled cheese and have LEARNED to love salads. ;)

Cathy: YEOWCH! I swear the B&G Leg Blast is harder then the entire original production! :D Are ya feelin' the DOMS from it yet?? The back is on the mend, thanks. I am thinking it is strained either from coughing (?) or perhaps I just slept wrong the other night. Oh well. Enjoy the after work CABS! *cheers, clink, hic* LOL

Well that catches me up for now...off to grab the 2nd cup o' coffee since I have the time this morning before I have to get started with my work out...

BBL!:)

Good Friday morning ladies!

Definitely having an OSIF day...as in "Oh, $#!* it's Friday";). Gosh, I am t*i*r*e*d today and I don't know why. Thank goodness for Friday "rest" days...no workout but loooooong riding list, yay *said with much sarcasm*.

I have so much to do after work, too, cuz I now have to buy a new area rug for the living room as my lovely kitty puked aaaaalllll over my current one...of course it's white and there's nooooo way I'm getting *that* out. I *could* wait a bit on the rug from a looks standpoint but it's also my workout space and, sorry, there ain't no way I'm gettin' down on that floor to do *anything* now, LOL:confused:. I actually had to take him to the vet last night before bowling because the vomitting has gotten out of hand lately and he stopped eating two days ago. That cat refusing food would be like *ME* refusing food...uh, yeah, NEVER happens! Good news if that he did lose another lb (down to 14 from 16.5) since his last appt so that makes me happy:).

Gonna shut up for now, grab some more java and be back with personals....

Wendy - Mmmm, yummy, haven't had a grilled cheese sandwich in years. Now you've got me craving one in the worst way:p. Sounds like you had the perfect day yesterday....sometimes that's exactly what ya need to recharge those batteries. Glad to hear that your back has finally settled down...*enjoy* B&G today;). Yeah, gotta TA with you about that Leg Blast being worse than the workout as is:eek:!

Carole - Wow, Legs-Of-Steel-Carole still had DOMS:eek:?!?!?! You must have hit 'em HARD:p!!!! I hope your run loosened them up a bit. I'll bet you're right about the rehab making a big difference...that's really a shame:(. Thanks for the rain vibes yesterday...they did help in that we did get some decent rain but, with the way things have been between bosshole and I lately I was too afraid to leave early so I ended up hanging around at the very damp and cold barn most of the day with the kittens acting as lap warmers...it was positively frigid yesterday:confused::confused:!

Posh - OMG, too funny about the stuffed horse. Thanks for the update on Smokey. Yeah, vaccinations are virtually useless with regards to certain diseases:(...they just don't tell you that. Did you know that a strangles vacc is only "effective" for about 6 weeks yet the protocol is to vacc every 6 *months*? Nice, huh? I put "effective" in quotes, too, cuz it only lessens the severity of symptoms and does not prevent infection. Makes you wonder why we even bother sometimes, right:rolleyes:?

Phone's ringing...BRB!

Wendi: Well I tell ya, it wasn't a grilled cheese the way my mom used to make 'em for me when I was a kid! I made it with fat free cheese on ww bread and put ff cooking spray in the pan but um...it was still GOOD! My mom used gobs of real butter, white bread and regular yummy white american cheese. OMG, nothin' better!:):D:) I find I don't allow myself total lazy days like the one I had y'day often enough. Perhaps I need to do it more! ;) Being that you are so tired today I think that YOU need to find the time to give yourself a day like I had y'day!:)

B&G standing work is done. I used my weighted vest through out and OMG what a work out! I was hurtin' for certain and DRIPPING with sweat! AWESOME! I will do the floor and ab work this afternoon.

Later Taters!

Wendy - Um, W*O*W!!! B&G with the vest:eek:??? You're my hero:D! LOL about your version of GC compared to your mom's:)...we used to do white bread, slathered with mayo (yup, restaurant trick to get it nice and golden), american, cheddar and swiss:eek:...can we say YUMMY?! I would love to take a day that...I've put it on the calendar foooooor, hmmm, let's see, Nov 24th or Dec 1;).

Jackie - How's the DOMS coming along? The run probably helped to loosen things up a bit, I hope. Thanks for all the crossed appendages yesterday...I'll bet you didn't know you had had yoga on the agenda;). Unfortunately, we got our clocks cleaned and we're going to practically free-fall in the standings. Didn't bowl terrible, just the other team bowled out of their minds:confused:! Heehee, yeah, I *heart* my coupons, too:eek:. I'm really terrible with that kind of stuff...I've even figured out a way around Victoria's Secret's shipping/return charges:p.

Linda - Glad to hear that you finally got your power back! Sorry The Wave workout didn't do it for ya. Makes you really appreciate our Cathe's, right:D? So, how's the new do? Or did you go for "maintenance"?

Brighton - So glad to hear that your first workout was a smashing success!!! How's the foot feeling today? I hope there are no after-effects:). The tikka masala was delish!!!

Gloria - Golly, it's no wonder you've been overwhelmed...that's a LOT you've got on your plate right now. Had to LOL about you wanting to "jump around" for today's workout:D. Sometimes that urge just hits, doesn't it? Did you opt for DM? ITA about how to handle CS...you catch more flies with honey than vinegar;).

Cathy - Enjoy the cold ones with your coworkers. It sounds like the perfect way to end a tough week! Let us know how the legs feel tomorrow;). IMHO that's Cathe's toughest leg torture, er, I mean workout;) to date. I'm positively askeered when that one comes up on the ol' rotation...which isn't very often *lol*.

Hi to the rest of the Cheetahs wandering in today!!!!!

Must get my draggin' bootay moving and out the door. See ya's tonight! Have a good one!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...That is a tough one, were you Jerry? It is funny as I have seen a girl in a comm'l and a series that remind me of you...:)..So you jumped on the B&G bandwagon!! Have fun with friends after work...:). Oh, I tried the JVC's yesterday, love them and they seem to be the same length as the ones that came with the Shuffle.

Wendy..Hope the rest day helped you out...:)...Way to go with B&G and a weighted vest!!

Wendi...Sorry about the rug issue. Hope your kitty feels better soon. The run did loosen my legs a bit. They feel much better today. That is the pitts bosshole made you feel like you had to hang around in that frigid weather. I do NOT like being cold.

Posh...LMAO about the stuffed pony and Frank songs bringing some smiles at work!! I have the Garin 305 too but have not played with many functions except for changing the data pages that show, and of course downloading the runs to my PC..:)..Glad to know your MT is ready for Chitown, glad she worked out your sore spot. No problem, the interval run I do is 1:00 min fast and 2:50 min recovery. I warm up doing at least a mile before I start the intervals. My little dog Sadie loves veggies.

Jackie...Yes, my sis's dogs do like the carrots. My legs are much better today, thanks..Good job with the iTread workout. I bet the stretching helped the legs.

Linda...good job with the 5 miles and Firm workout. I bet you will feel better next week getting back to Cathe.

Gloria...Thanks re: my Mom. LOL about doing DM as you feeling like jumping around. That is a tough workout IMO.

Where has Christine been???

I am doing PS back & tri's, PLB with lighter weights than I usually use and a 4-5 mile tempo run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning!

Brighton – that is wonderful that you have been given the green light for low impact! Good job on the EXT and pool! Glad you got rid of the lovely shoe!

Gloria – I am excited for you and your marathon! You can definitely do it! Hope how soon you can sign up! I know you told me once, but which marathon is it that you are planning on doing?

Cathy – LOL…you are right! That really could be part of my workout! Good idea! Great job on B&Gs and the TM! We are “supposed” to get rain and snow mix over the weekend…but we never get what they say!  We desperately need rain!

Wendy – Yes, the Wave is a new Firm “gadget”. It is kind of a balance “rocker” thing that can be turned upside down to work your glutes/legs. You can turn it the other way and it is like a step (arched step). The concept looks really good! But it feels awkward for me! I was really sore the next day, but really didn’t “feel” the moves as I was doing them. That was frustrating, but I think if I get the hang of it, it will be fun! Glad you are feeling a little better! The rest day yesterday was just what you needed! Hope you are 100% soon!

Wendi – I am sorry you are feeling so tired! I hope you feel better soon! Oh dear!! Sorry about your rug! Hope kitty is okay, too! I just got my re-growth touched up and a trim. I didn’t have her put highlights in this time. I decided to try highlights “every other visit” for and see how that works  I think if I got used to rocking on the wave, I would get more of a benefit from the exercises. They are mostly compound moves. Yes, gotta love all my Cathe workouts! Can’t be beat!!!

Carole – I was wondering about Christine, also. Hope she and her DH are okay! Enjoy your workout! Sounds like a great one!

This morning I did Dove #2 and a 4 mile run. I really enjoyed it a lot!

Hey to everyone! TGIF!!!

To my lovely cheetahs who have helped me a lot this year. Mom is not doing well. Her stones are all clear so they now know it is the cancer. Her face is swelling and now they think she has had the cancer spread to her brain. She is getting a cerebral tap today to see. Her face has been swollen for a while prior to the fall and now with the fall they are thinking the worst. I'm just a mess. Crying like a baby. I just wanted to say that I love all of you and that I will be back when I have news. Right now I just read everyones post to keep my sprits up. Today I had to tell her what she was doing and where she was going. She had an MRI yesterday and didn't even remember. She has moments of clarity where she can do her bills and be so like the mom I knew but it's fading way to fast for me. It's just not FAIR. Last night she had my girls crawl into bed with her and it broke my heart. Ok, Got to stop writing now my eyes are welling up and I can't let the girls see me.

Karen - ((Hugs)) to you. I am so sorry she is not doing well. I know how hard it is to watch a parent go through an illness! Please know that she (and you) is in my thoughts and prayers!)

Linda

Good morning Cheetahs!

Wendy - Good attitude concerning BMF. Sounds like the rest day was just what you needed yesterday. Glad the back is better. Good job with the workout today.

Linda - Glad the power is back and you're back on track witht he workouts. Yep, Cathe has the best workouts IMO. She can really kick butt!! Good job with Dove and your run.

Brighton - Glad you were able to get a workout in yesterday and no foot pain. Yay!! Yeah, take it nice and easy. I love my Foodsaver but do wish I had the newer model where you just press a button. :( I have to hold the thing down now in order to press and seal. I use it to seal other things when I open them too.

Gloria - Glad you survived the meeting. Good job with the runs and yoga. So did you jump around today?

Cathy - Well, at least you still get to run some. Maybe everything will fall into place soon. Oh, how fun to name your classes after ski resorts. We have rain in the forecast this weekend. I'm hoping it waits until after my run tomorrow. Good job with the B&G premix. Enjoy those cold ones when you get home.

Wendi - Enjoy your rest day. Maybe work won't be too tiring today. Ugh on the rug! Don't blame you for getting a new one. Hope kitty is ok. Congrats to him for shedding those pounds! Tell him he must share his secret. :D DOMS is much better today. I may be able to get those 10 miles in tomorrow with no problems. Sorry the bowling is so off for you. At least, you're having fun - I hope anyway.

Carole - I guess if dogs like popcorn they may as well like carrots too. :D BTW, where do you find the training center in Motion Based for Garmin? Glad the legs are better. Enjoy your tempo run. That's still my least favorite run.

Karen - (((((HUGS))))) Glad to hear the stones have cleared for your mom. But, so sorry she's not doing better. It is definitely hard to see a loved one suffering. Prayers are going up right now.

I did the climbing and treading portions of iTread #29 iTri Reverse. Used the premixes from 4DS to work the shoulders, biceps, tris and core. Never really looked at the premixes that much but I'm glad I found them. It's a nice way to mix things up.

TGIF!! Enjoy your day!

Karen: Major ((((HUGS)))) comin' your way! Vent and cry on our shoulders all you want, my friend. That's what we are here for. I'll keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers.

Jackie: Nice work out. Looks like I'll be back to playin' with 4DS myself in a few days as I plan to do FF's Get Ready for Summer 2008 rotation when I'm done with the one I'm doing now. I love all of the premixes. It keeps things fresh!

Linda: Okay, I know what the Wave is now. I wasn't able to place it at first. If you got DOMS from the work out then I'd say it's a goodie! I hope you continue to get more comfortable using the new piece of equipment.

Carole: Enjoy your work out today. I am considering ordering PS soon or putting it on my Christmas list. No idea where Christine has been but I hope everything is alright with her DH! Last she checked in, they thought he'd just pulled a muscle.

Wendi: I am going to have to try the mayo trick one of these days! ;) Yeah, B&G with a weighted vest on is no joke! You should try it sometime! LOL about being your hero. From the sounds of it, you could kick my arse in many a work out! I KNOW you'd leave me in the dust during a race for sure! :)

Well, B&G floor/abs did not get done this afternoon afterall. I ended up feeling cr@ppy while I was at work so when I finally got home I ate and went right to sleep for a while. I slept for about an hour and feel okay right now. Hopefully the feeling will last because I have to leave to pick up DS soon and we are heading straight up to my mom's to hit the mall with her for a Christmas-related errand. That being said there will be no time to hit B&G this afternoon and I doubt I'll be wanting to do it tonight. I've re-worked the last few days of this rotation to get it done though so I will NOT be skipping it! :)

Alrighty, better get a move-on.

Lator Gators!

Hi Girls!

It's been busy on the home front, but I just stopped my household duties to peek in the den. {{{KAREN}}} my heart aches for you!!! I have tears in my eyes from reading your post. :( (((HUGS))) and prayers.

I will try my best to get back later for the rest of you gals. All this Christmas stuff has put me behind on the regular ol' stuff. :( I've been helping my mil with her shopping as well. She can't really get out this year. I missed my workout y-day due to oversleeping, but Wed-PUB (up only premix) and treadmill circuit. Today, was 35 minutes of cardio EXT and treadmill and MM. I was up w/DS5 last night. He kept crying saying his legs hurt. :( Not sure what that was all about...growing pains??? Anyway, I'm growing more tired by the minute.

Hope to get back after the kid's haircuts. :)

~TTFN

Afternoon, Cheetahs~

First, Karen, I am so incredibly sorry to hear about your mom... ITA with everyone, many prayers on hers & your behalf. (((HUGS))) We are all here for you!

Things here are going well... the foot isn't suffering from yesterday's workout, so I'm staying optimistic about things. No workout today... unless you count 1/2 of the YogaKids vid I did with the kiddos today. ;) Hopefully tomorrow, just don't want to press my luck by doing too much too soon.

Quick personals today, trying to get my poor house cleaned up as it is suffering in a major way since I've been laid up. DH is taking me out for a hot date tonight so I'm trying to hurry so I can get ready! :D

Gloria: Yeah, the Great Lakes are really amazing... I can understand DH's reluctance. My uncle back in Chicago is way into sailing and actually bought some property in Michigan to be closer to the water. They hope to move there permanently when DD16 graduates from high school. Love Food Network as well! So many goodies... I like Giada quite a bit, although I wonder if she actually eats that incredible Italian food-- so skinny! ;)

Cathy: Love the classroom names! :D I think Posh was talking about the pix on my family blog. I put a link to it from the 26.2 blog.

Wendy: So glad you had a rest day & hope you're continuing to feel better-- glad the hugs helped!!! ;) Sorry to hear about the grumpy moms at the gym-- I don't get it! :( I'm just so grateful to the girls at my gym, training for triathlons with the swimming & stuff would be next to impossible for me without their help.

Wendi: SO sorry about your poor cat & the poor rug!!!!! :( I totally don't blame you for getting a new one ASAP-- who wants to do push-ups looking at that? LOL...

Dallas: Hope DS is feeling better... Growing pains are no fun-- I remember having them in my legs growing up, they were really painful. Best wishes to you all.

Hi to everyone else in the den & thanks for all the well-wishes-- I appreciate every single one of them!!!! Have a terrific weekend, everyone!!!!!!!!

~Brighton~

Hi Cheetahs! :)

Cathy: Doing B&G is a good reason to get some cold ones IMO. :) That one kills me every time. I am diggin' Friday for sure! How was the night out with friends?

Wendy: No yoga today. I will do it tomorrow. I've had my best race times (which I really don't care about) and NO injuries when I am religious with my yoga. Dh's BF is a yogi and turned me on to a great book about it and it just makes sense. I really don't like lifting weights in all honesty. I know about the bone density stuff and all that so I do it. I gain muscle so easily that I can look man like in a week's time. I am glad your back is feeling better!

Wendi: I did a little jumping around today and I loved it! That stinks about the rug. Nice to have you checking in more often! :)

Carole: IA that DM is a toughie! I bagged it for an easier workout this morning. :) How is little Beau? We are taking Pip to get fixed next week. I am not looking forward to it. I hate seeing the pets in pain. We have a great vet though. She is the sweetest pup we've ever had... I hate to put her under the knife. Oh dear Lord, let me get through this!

Linda: Well, I think I am a little OCD and checked the marathon site today and we can sign up on Dec. 1st. I am so nervous about it because it is a life time goal for me. I want to finish. I've got in me, I know that. Great workout today! When are you going to MT again? Is your Dh part of the Flyfisher's Federation?

Karen: My heart goes out to you. Your family is in my thoughts.

Jackie: I did jump around today! You are doing great workouts as usual!

Dallas: Great workouts! :)

Brighton: Where in MI is your family thinking of relocating? I was born in Chicago. My grandparents are German immigrants and brought my mom over when she was 2 years old. My mom grew up in inner city Chi town. She went to Roberto Clemente High School. Do you know if it is still there? Yes, Dh and I have contemplated if Giada ever eats :) I am so happy to hear you had a pain free workout!

This morning was a short workout. I did the LM blast premix and BC upper body. Not sure what is in store for tomorrow. :)

Have a great night Cheetahs!

Hi Cheetahs!

Looks like it was B&G kind of week!!!

Posh ~ I saw your PM. Thanks! Oh no, it’s not my 50th…not that there’s anything wrong with that. ;) I’ll be 39. Do I look like I'll be 50. *ha ha* Where does the time go??? Do you prefer the Klean Kanteen over Sigg? The kids have Sigg. I’ve been wanting to get something for me was well. Lol’d about your stuffed pony! :D

Cathy ~ lol’d about the Seinfield on DVD. Um…I have 2 seasons on DVD too. Guess I’m a dork too. *ha ha* Well, I was a math major, so…. ;) Which character are you most like? Hmmm, that’s tough. Kramer is a riot! Oh boy, you went for the Leg Blast premix!!! That one is, IMO, the toughest workout on the whole DVD.

Wendi ~ I have a coupon code for Black & White? Did you shop already? How’s your eye? Oh my goodness! Lol’d at your “OSIF” comment

Wendy ~ I like the TJ’s too. I just have to be in the mood for them. What happened to your back? Hope the pain has subsided.

Carole ~ You’re getting some great workouts in lately! Yeah, where is Christine? I see there are Cali fires again. ☹ I don’t know where she lives...is she near them?

Jackie ~ Nice runs you’re getting in lately. Hope the DOMS calmed down. IA the 4D premixes are awesome.

Shelly ~ Awww, you’re too sweet re: the kids and their dental check up comment. Thanks! ☺ Hope you’re getting some sleep and your body adjusted to day sleeping.

Brighton ~ Glad you had no pain with your workout. Yippee!!! That’s always a great feeling! :D Thanks for the well wishes. It must have been growing pains, poor thing because he was fine today.

Linda ~ How’s post marathon workouts going? Looks like you're getting in some good workouts. :)

Gloria ~ Sounds like the extra yoga is working for you as well. Good job! :) Hope Pip does well with his surgery.

Sorry for the shortened personals. :( We're watching the videos of the kids when my youngest was one. We are having some hearty laughs! :D:D:D Indoor :D soccer starts tomorrow. I'll try and post before we leave.

Have a good night!

Shout out to the rest of the Cheetahs!
