difference between Athletic Training and AfterBurn?

I discovered the AT extreme premix about a month ago and like the mix a lot but I cannot make it through the cardio drills without pausing. I never attempt it unless I am feeling strong. I've been hoping to work up to the point where I can make it all the way through without stopping but I...

    I survived Afterburn!

To ease into this workout and learn the drills, try the express premix with single intervals (it's 32 minutes and 10 seconds long if that makes it sound a bit less daunting). Plan on modifying some of the drills to suit your abilities and preferences. Think of the workout as the sum of many...

difference between Athletic Training and AfterBurn?

Afterburn provides more cardio work than Athletic Training, which is a blend of cardio and strength. I find the cardio segment in Athletic Training, which lasts about 7 minutes, tougher than anything in Afterburn but the cumulative cardio work in Afterburn exceeds what is in Athletic Training...

Let's chat about the filming of the new workouts

Thank you! Is anything else special needed in the way of equipment for Crossfire? I understand that high-impact moves are part of these workouts, with modifications provided. Did a member of your crew demonstrate a low-impact alternative for every high-impact move (I know that's difficult...

Let's chat about the filming of the new workouts

I just found a comparison between tabata and HiiT in a posting by SNM entitled "CrossFire and To The Max" in the Cathe's Newest and Upcoming Workouts section of the Forum (http://cathe.com/forum/f115/crossfire-max-289220/).

Let's chat about the filming of the new workouts

Would you please let us know what equipment is needed for the new programs? The program descriptions call for "basic fitness equipment" and it is unclear what that includes. Also, I wonder what tabatta drills (mentioned in a recent posting) are. Thanks.

    Low Intensity Series, bonus DVD????

There is a 20-minute bonus step segment on both the Low Impact Challenge disk and the Cardio Supersets disk. It's not a separate DVD. Perhaps this is what you're thinking of? It's simple choreography that gets your heart rate up. I think it's the best part of the Low Impact Series.

    Athletic Training Extreme....

I discovered the Athletic Step Extreme premix on the Athletic Training disk just last week. I've had the Low Impact Series since last fall but I tend not to do premixes because I like to do programs in their entirety, and I tend to forget that there are premixes that double up on some segments...

    low impact series/ slide issue??/

I made an error about the need for disks with Afterburn. Five (not four) of the 20 drills require disks, and you can see all of them on the YouTube video clip of the program: 1. disk mountain climbers (shown on the YouTube clip at about 00:30) 2. burpees/straddle push ups (shown at about...

    low impact cardio alternative

I'd like to see some of the cast doing low impact alternative moves at the same time that others are doing high impact moves so that viewers can choose whichever move suits them without skipping any parts of the program. Unfortunately, it sounds to me as though there will be certain segments...

    low impact series/ slide issue??/

I hope others will chime in here. I believe that the disks are not used at all in Turbo Barre or Total Body Tri-sets (or the two yoga programs). I've been omitting or modifying segments of other programs that require the disks because they bother my lower back. I believe the disks are used...

    IMAX3

These are all good suggestions. Definitely preview the program at least once. I'd tackle it when you are physically and mentally fresh, not after doing a tough workout (I'm like a lot of people who hate to lose a day of working out trying to learning a new program, but tackling it when you're...

What are workout distractions you simply cannot endure?

It sounds as though we share many of the same challenges working out at home. I don't answer the phone during a workout (I consider it "me" time) unless I'm expecting a call (and then I keep a pad of paper and pen handy in the hope that I can pause my workout and return to it promptly). At...

Which Cathe DVD has the most complex choreography?

When I read the subject line for this post, I thought that's easy--Step Moves. I'm not surprised to hear that this is the DVD giving you trouble. I had major conniption fits over it. I felt a great sense of accomplishment once I mastered it. I wish I could advise you to stick with it because...

    Mad men

I believe Peggy's pregnancy was in season 1. There's an episode guide on the Mad Men website (Mad Men – AMC). I'd answer your question about the father here but I do not want to spoil things for people reading this forum who might be just starting to watch old episodes. If you missed all or...

    Mad men

I'm not surprised to hear that January Jones has felt a backlash because her character is not very likable. I think Carroll O'Connor who played Archie Bunker on All in the Family had a similar problem with people thinking he was as ignorant as Archie (he's actually very intelligent). I don't...

    More Low Impact Hiit

The Intensity program is good but not very useful for me because of the high impact. I like the low impact HiiT segment but it is only about 9 minutes long. The "Intensity Max" segment is another short but good section that I've managed to modify so that it is low impact. It is patterned...

    Mad men

It's been a long wait for us Mad Men fans. Peggy is my favorite character. I don't expect Don Draper's engagement to last (surely he'll come to his senses and realize it was a hasty decision), but we'll see as this season unfolds. Such fun to speculate.

I too need to know what equipment is needed, specifically a barbell and a stability ball?

    Anyone taking Activella?

I'm not taking Activella but I am a pharmacist. I looked at the prescribing information (http://www.novo-pi.com/activella.pdf), which summarizes the side effects reported during clinical trials performed to obtain approval from FDA of the drug. Weight loss is a possible side effect, although...
