    Silly question

At the end of Afterburn, Cathe looks over her shoulder at the crew and says incredulously "and they're still smiling", which makes me chuckle and smile every time.

    What's Your 'Phew!' Cathe workout?

The Athletic Training DVD in the Low Impact Series has a very fast paced cardio segment that lasts only about 7 minutes but is the toughest Cathe workout that I've tried (I have a limited selection of workouts). The extreme premix puts you though this segment twice, and that's something I...

    excedrine

Good news about Excedrin Migraine. According to a recent news story ('Where Is My Excedrin?'), it is expected to be back on store shelves in early October.

    Low Max: Two Thumbs Up!

Low Max is a good leg and cardio workout. I've had it for a long time, and it has "staying" power (I don't get tired of it). It's different from the Low Impact Series (some people have asked on this Forum whether Low Max is worth getting once they have the LIS, and I say emphatically, YES!)...

How does one easily find the Deal of the Day?

I've got it bookmarked at Deal of the Day. That takes you directly in.

    Which dvd to buy

Please let me clarify my comments on Intensity. It is primarily a high-impact program with some fairly short segments that are low impact (namely low impact HiiT and parts of bootcamp). It provides a good cardio challenge.

    Which dvd to buy

I know you said that high impact is no longer an issue, but I am a big fan of the Low Impact Series (particularly Afterburn, Athletic Training, and Cardio Supersets in that order for the cardio challenge without the impact). I am always slow to acquire new equipment because of budget and space...

    Crossfire slide n glide question

I don't like the disks (they bother my lower back) but I do like Cardio Supersets a lot. Sometimes I do the first 4 sets (none of which requires disks) followed by the bonus, and that's a pretty good workout. Other times when I have more energy, I add in but modify sets 5-8 (not all of them...

    Watch Cathe's Fifth Class Live!

Thank you for livestreaming the classes, SNM. It was a lot of fun to watch them. How many participants were there? I couldn't tell because the mirrors made the class look larger than it was. I still think it was a larger class than I've ever been to. It was inspiring to see and hear...

Bonus step in Low Impact Challenge

Yes indeedee, the bonus segment is terrific (easy to follow and a good cardio challenge, making it a good "add on" to many workouts). It's my favorite part of the Low Impact Series, which is saying a lot because there's much that I like about the series. The electronic organ music has a...

    Opinions Please

I am a big fan of Afterburn. I need to modify certain parts (most notably the dragging planks that you can see at around 1:40 of the video clip) but I get a lot out of the workout every time and have increased the hand weights as I've gotten stronger. I'm not a fan of the disks, so I almost...

difference between Athletic Training and AfterBurn?

Nikkithin, you should be very proud to have made it through the AT Extreme Premix without stopping. I can almost make it through the cardio segment once but not twice. I need to pause countless times. Cathe says to remove one of the risers if the workout is too much, but I don't see how that...

    Pure White Noise (my recommendation)

I meant to comment that I agree with Natalie that pure white noise is best. My machine has settings with birds, frogs (funny, but not good for sleeping), water dripping (this can drive you to distraction), and rain (this can make you repeatedly get up to use the bathroom at night) among others...

    GRUMPY

I lost power (in the Washington, DC area) for 5 days and missed doing my workouts during that time. When I got power back, I did Cardio Supersets (I didn't preorder To The Max or Crossfire because of concerns that I wouldn't like the high impact). Now my lower back is sore. I'm sure I'll...

    Pure White Noise (my recommendation)

I've been using a white noise machine for more than a decade (purchased at Brookstone, although the iPod and phone apps are even better) to drown out ambient noise because I am a light sleeper. I asked an audiologist if there is any harm in using noise machines so often and for so many hours...

is there a pharmacist out there?

I am a pharmacist. Here's some info that may help: A 2008 article in American Family Physician (the official journal of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a reputable group) suggesting that birth control pills/oral contraceptives may affect the efficacy of Lamictal (lamotrigine) but...

Cross Fire -- Easy to Modify

This is reassuring news. I didn't preorder either Crossfire or To The Max because I feel "spoiled" by the Low Impact Series. Clips for both of the new programs look as though there's a lot of impact of the kind I need to avoid to save my knees. Please post comments about how readily you find...

    Happy July 4th

I am on Day 5 without power in the Washington DC area. I'm lucky to be able to abandon my home for a friend's office with air conditioning during the day. Sleeping at home with the windows open has been surprisingly tolerable. What do I miss? Would you believe Cathe's workouts? I can't wait...

    Two Videos in One Day?

Nivipa, Cathe spoke (in Afterburn, I believe) of making stalling a formal element of her workouts because she's so good at it. Sounds as though you're good at it too! I know I am. :-)
