Which Cathe workout has given you the best shoulder development? (You know what I'm talking about, ball-like shoulders.) I appreciate your input.

my most humiliating moment in history

Jillybean, not only was your mother very sweet...What you did was even greater! Not telling her and making her believe that you had so much fun...That's so heroic from your part.

my most humiliating moment in history

I had a very similar experience...only I was 26 years old! :o ;( It was so humiliating I didn't return to the swimming class ever again.

how long can you hold a plank?

It also depends on how pre-fatigued are the abs and/or arms if the planks are at the end of the workout. If done first thing in the workout, I guess probably one can last longer. The same thing with push ups.

I'm back and I need advice ASAP!!! (long)

Hi, Rose. Wow! Parecemos cortadas con la misma tijera. Yo soy igualita! Qué pena que los planes cambiaron. No sé si pueda ir a Puerto Rico ahora, y conocerte. Mi esposo ya no va para Alaska. Yo no sé para dónde vamos ahora. Le dieron un "compassion assignment" pero no han determinado a donde...

how long can you hold a plank?

I only do them for the time Cathe does them in the videos (DVD's), or for one minute when I do them on my own. I can probably last half minute more or even one minute if I push myself, but I haven't ventured. Four minutes is outstanding in my opinion. I find the bent arm position to be the most...

What come's first--your workout--or the demands of life...

RE: What come's first--your workout--or the demands of ... Sabrina, I understand you and sympathize with you. I had the same problem a few years ago. Even though I was motivated and thrilled about working out regularly, that wasn't a possibility, at least in a structured way. My daughters were...

What come's first--your workout--or the demands of life...

RE: What come's first--your workout--or the demands of ... I workout early in the morning, when my little daughters are still sleeping, and my DH has already gone to work. He gets out of here at 4:30 am, to get to the base and do his PT (he is in the ARMY). That way, nobody bother or interrupt...

    March of the Penguins

Thank you for the review. My hubby and me were thinking of taking our 4 and 5 year olds to see this movie, but didn't because we thought it would be only penguins marching all the time. (That is what the preview shows. LOL)

    How to Ruin your friendship

She is probably stressed out about the move. She probably is trying hard to be a good neighbor and afraid of not being one, and projects to you her frustration for not being able to be "perfect" when you point out the few things she have done wrong. I don't know her, it's just a theory, but...

    Fitness vs. Body Building

I have heard that most serious bodybuilders do care about form. Powerlifters however, are only concerned with lifting the heaviest possible by all means, thus not using what we call proper form.

What are the movies that really make you think?

Ditto to Being John Malcovich. Also ditto to "Eternal Sunshines of a Spotless Mind." I loved that movie. I also liked...I don't remember the name, but is something with "Sky", I think. It's the one with Penelope Cruz and Tom Cruise. Too many others to mention.

What are the movies that really make you think?

I loved FIGHT CLUB! A Beautiful Mind was nice, but didn't make me think hard. I like movies that make my imagination fly while trying to guess what is going to happen or that have certain degree of ambiguity, so I can think of endless possiblities as to what really happened, what could have...

    Embarrassing Stretch Marks

Fit Mom, I felt the same way about my breasts. They went from heroe to zero. I had mastitis and those breasts got HUGE, then after a few weeks they shrinked, and the skin looked -and could be grabbed- like a lose, wrinkly fabric over the breast tissue, not to mention the thousands of...

Escalators - do you climb, or do you stand?

I didn't know it was rude to stand on escalators. I thought that was their purpose. I am so paranoid because there are so many things americans consider rude, it is overwhelming. Perhaps it's my lack of good manners, but it does get overwhelming sometimes. I do try to be nice, but I guess you...

    How heavy is "lifting heavy?"

RE: How heavy is I won't give you the "lift what is heavy for YOU" lecture, because it is obvious that you already know that, based on the info you are giving us. Besides, the question is not: "How much should I lift?", but "How much do YOU (us) lift?" So, I don't lift as heavy as many here...
