    STS and abs

I am going to agree that it was the heavy weights and consistent use of heavy weights (STS was first time I ever followed a rotation for any real amount of time) more so than STS abs. I often subbed my old favorite (and usually shorter) Cathe ab routines for the STS abs in the rotation and...

So much zuchinni, so little time...

Here are a few more ideas from a past post:http://www.thecathenation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=207687&highlight=frittata The zucchini frittata is great. Also some from one of my favorite cookbook authors, Ellie Krieger - Zucchini Parmesan Crisps...

    What makes Cathe, well...Cathe??

Because she works out with me the whole time and motivates me to dig deeper. Just when I am yelling "no" to the tv, she says "oh yes you can" or "just a couple more" and somehow I CAN. She makes me be proud of myself.

Suggestions for the Cathe National Tour?

I, too, would like to see it be a Fri night/Sat/Sun morn event. I would love for it to be in Minneapolis, but Denver and Chicago are cheap flights from MSP so they would be great too. It would be nice if it could be similar to the RT in New Jersey that I have always wanted to attend. I...

Need a good book to read!!!

While I have not read the Twilight Series, DD has and she recommended another Stephanie Meyer book - The Host. I read this one at her recommendation and I liked it. Not usually the kind of book I read, but once I started it was hard to put down.

So, what was the LAST concert you saw?

Keb Mo. I love that guy. It was a Blues Fest at a nearby casino with Taj Mahal Trio and others, but I went because of Keb. Nanci Griffith at the Guthrie about two weeks before that - I have a least seven of her albums. Her voice just soothes me. I always take her on the mp3 when I am...

Just for fun--what was your first concert?

Cheap Trick - 1980. Ran out of gas on the way home from the concert - midnight in a small town. No all night gas stations then. No cell phones. Someone helped us by siphoning a couple of gallons of gas from his car to mine so we could make it home.

    Ezekiel bread

I love EB toasted with turkey and lettuce. I always just keep it in the freezer. If you find the Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin bread - you must try it as well. It is far and away my favorite treat - frozen, room temp, toasted, or toasted with peanut butter.

    STS CHECK IN DISC 35

Plyo 35 I did the whole thing without pausing (even after 180 turns)!! I went heavier on every weighted exercise and I felt strong and proud when I was finished. I think this has been my favorite Mesocycle.

    Replacing water heaters?

My water heaters have always been in the basement, on concrete or tiled floors not too far from a drain so we just let them go 'til they die. We have replaced two water heaters in this house and two in our other one. None have ever burst - they just all started leaking at the bottom. Some...

    Who was your childhood crush?

John Denver! I wanted to move to Colorado when I was 12 (okay so I still want to move to Colorado - but now it's for the weather). Peter Tork of the Monkees because everybody was in love with Davey Jones and no one ever mentioned Peter.

    STS CHECK IN DISC 32

Boy, I just love these plyo workouts! I didn't have to stop even once today (since there were no 180 degree jumps). One legged squat thrusts were not pretty on the left side but I did them all. My HRM said that I was at 172 bpm on that move. Thank goodness it was only for 10 reps! You are...

    cottage cheese

Chopped apple, raisins and cinnamon - stuffed into a whole wheat pita. One of my favorite lunches.

    STS CHECK IN DISC 30

I kind of struggled with last week's Bi, Tri and Shoulder workout, but this week it seemed (dare I say?) easy. Maybe because it was only 7 reps or maybe because I got more sleep last night, but whatever the reason it was very good.

    STS CHECK IN DISC 29

DH came in the room as I was finished and said, "I know you were having a good time because you are so sweaty"! He was right. I still had to stop and give myself a little extra time to catch my breath after the 180 degree jumps, but otherwise it was lots of fun and my legs felt well-worked...

    The Fitnessfreak appreciation thread

One more thank you! from a (mostly) lurker. I have gained tons of info from reading your posts and your rotations. It takes a lot of time to help us out and whether you believe it or not, you are doing providing a real service to the many of us who eagerly read your posts.

    STS CHECK IN DISC 26

I did the Plyo Leg version as well. I really liked it and the time FLEW by. I did have to pause for an extra 20-30 seconds after each of the half-turn jump segments (insert panting smiley icon here) otherwise I went all the way through. I know that I will be feeling it in the glutes big time...

    STS Check In Disc 25

I did this one today too. It went very well. I thought I would be bored silly with those breaks, but they moved pretty quickly. Cathe - I have a question. I do not have a rack for my barbell and my incline chest presses have me at 69 lbs for today's workout. I can't get much more than 55...

    LG Washing Machine

I have had an LG washer and dryer for 15 months now. I leave the door open a crack for a couple of hours after my last load AND open the soap dispenser (where water seems to accumulate a bit in mine). After that I close the doors and leave them shut until the next Saturday when I wash again...
