    Got Rebounder - Now what?!?

Mostly my son (turned 5 yesterday) bounces on it while I do my Cathe workout. I have to convince him to get off it if I want to use it for a modification. As I have puzzle mats on carpet on concrete I do all power moves on top of my step. For moves like power scissors I either substitute with...

    Favorite NON-Cathe Workouts??

Angles, Lines and Curves & ALC II by Kari Anderson They're a lot of fun and help with flexibility. All of my other non-Cathe workouts (Kathy Smith, Karen Voight, Cher, Paula Abdul) are gathering dust. I only keep them for recovery from injuries. Knock on wood I haven't had an injury in a very...

    rock climbing wall at home...

If money and space were no issue then: 1) 25m swimming pool (outdoor in the summer, converts to indoor in the winter) with a 1m spring board (complete with a pool cleaning and maintenance service) 2) rock climbing treadmill...I used this at the Marsh near Minneapolis. It was amazing you...

Boot Camp Xtreme and other ideas

Another vote for the boot camp Xtreme workout. I too would like to see the return of the two workout DVD. Premixes rock!

Rhythmic Step, Interval Max & MIC DVD.

I really enjoy all 3 of those workouts. MIC was my first Cathe workout and it's a lot of fun. Interval Max is excellent and makes sweat fly. If you like IMAX2 or IMAX3 you'll love Interval Max. I really enjoy the challenge of rhythmic step. Although it's trickier to get the choreography down...

A- athletic L - loveable A - ardent N - nurturing A - able This was challenging with the number of A's in my name. This was fun!

    Most Unfavourite Move ....

The moves I dislike are definitely the ponies (I think it's because I feel like I'm going to fall off the board). I can do the pegleg pivot turn but I don't feel like it does anything for me. It feels like a non-exercise move. I absolutely love the flying angels, tuck jumps, and airborne...

Filming boo-boos or what were they thinking?

I did PowerMax yesterday for the first time in a very long time (I've mostly been doing the newer series). I absolutely loved the intensity but the filming was bizarre. What's with the camera angles having everyone suddenly at a 45 degree angle? This made the workout a little dizzy for me as I...

    April Rotation May 9

Well today was Slow & Heavy Chest followed by Slow & Heavy Triceps and then 30 minutes of Step. I chose Step, Jump and Pump for the fun factor. I was quite pleased at how much stronger my chest muscles have gotten. I don't even think I had the 20 lb weights the last time I did this workout. I...

I need a great sweatproof sunscreen

I'm a redhead so I'm always wearing sunblock. I use Ombrelle spf 30 (my dermatologist recommended it as my face is super sensitive and reacts to most sunblocks). I put very light powdered eyeshadow on. I find the eyeshadow keeps the sunblock out of my eyes. When I did triathalons two summers...

High Step Challenge - ? on modifications, and another H...

HC Extreme combines Imax3, LowMax and KickMax. One option would be to alternate segments of IMAX3 with LowMax (i.e. 2 parts of Imax3, part 1 of LowMax, next two parts of Imax3, part 2 of LowMax, last 2 parts of imax3, part 3 of LowMax and then cooldown). If this is to switchy then do 6 parts of...

    DOMS in triceps

Amy keep trying with the drop set of pushups. It's amazing the DOMS you get in your chest muscles when you do get them. The first time I did the entire set with straight legs I had DOMS for 4 days. I discovered every activity that even slightly requires chest muscles. I hadn't done GS chest and...

    April Rotation Check In

I'm really enjoying this rotation as it's getting me to use the weight tapes I tend to ignore. This is my first time doing a split rotation. Today I did Slow and Heavy Legs, CoreMax 1 and 13 minutes of Total Body Stretching. I'm also biking my daughter to and from school so I'll get a total...

    Dance Recital

My advanced jazz dance recital was amazing on Saturday. First I discovered that I was the covergirl on the program...a leap that I did in dance class was the only picture on the cover. I think the height was from doing IMAXes. We danced to "Walk this Way" by Aerosmith. Three minutes of...

    Trying to increase muscles strength/soreness

In an exercise class I did last week they had us using different weights at the same time (i.e. 8 lbs in one hand and 12 lbs in the other). They then switched half way through. I found that besides confusing me it gave me good DOMS. I find Gym Style Chest/Triceps always gives me DOMS. I think...

    CTX Series or Timesaver

I agree with the others. CTX series is awesome when you don't have a lot of time. The cardio is intense and if you grab your heavier weights the body part being worked will have DOMS the next day. I have all of Cathe's advanced workouts and only Timesaver has dust on it.

    Upper body rotation

When I broke my ankle, they gave me crutches. Using them and going everywhere with them really built up my upper body and my non-broken leg became super strong. In fact after the cast came off I was able to use my arms to go up the pole at the park (without using my legs). If they gave you...

    The Comeback Kid Update 4/21/06

Awesome news Cathe! I'm definitely looking forward to the new workouts but please take it easy! My excitement is tomorrow I dance on stage. The combination of doing your workouts and taking jazz dance has enabled me to be in the advanced class with the teenagers (I turned 39 in March)...

    High Step Challenge

I have the high step set up in the middle of my cardio space. (My cardio space is interlocked mats so this also works for going down to the floor). I have my dumbell weights lined up from the lightest (3 lbs) to the heaviest (20 lbs) on the right of my workout mats. I have my barbell loaded to...

    Hardcore Extreme DVD

I enjoy Hardcore Extreme. I've done the first premix 15 times, versus 4 and 6 times for the other two premixes. The first premix is definitely my favorite. I also really enjoy the premix that switches between LowMax and Imax3. It challenges your endurance and is a real leg burner.
