November Check In - Thursday 11/9

Hi everyone, It's cold and nasty here...flurries with a wicked wind. I did B&G for the first time today. Oh my goodness! I was ready to cry for my mother by the time I was finished. I did finish all reps and am really curious about when the DOMS will hit. At the end when Cathe said "I hope...

    Nov. Rotation Check In 11/08

Good afternoon everyone! Monday was Drill Max...so far no DOMS! Yesterday I had my advanced jazz dance class. This worked as an excellent substitute for the run. My legs got an excellent workout as we were working on technique...lots of plies and 'devloppes'. Today is rest day...hurray! I'm...

Not fair - but if you could ONLY buy 1 DVD???

Drill Max is my favorite of LIC, BM2 and DM. To be fair I haven't done BG yet. But I totally adore circuit and Drill Max is my all time favorite Cathe workout (I have all of the advanced ones). I did it this morning and found the time flew as well as the sweat. The moves were interesting and...

Special FX on Cathe's new DVDs..............

I did the push-ups on the ball with my knees on the ground. I was a little nervous of my face meeting the floor. I did do all of the tricep dips on the stability ball. I totally thought I was going to land on my butt but by some miracle I didn't. Drill Max rocks! It definitely drained...

    Form questions on Drill Max

Cathe I absolutely love Drill Max. It's my new favorite! 1)On the push ups where you end up in a yoga move (can't remember name): could you give some pointers. I think I'm doing it right when I move forward but I'm not sure what I should be doing on the way back. What muscles should I be...

    November Rotation Check in 11/06/06

Hi everyone! I started the rotation on Friday evening with BodyMax II. I loved it. Saturday morning I did Low Impact Circuit (for some reason my legs were complaining...I suspect from BM 2 the night before). Yesterday I did a 45 minute skate as a substitute for the jog as I'm not a jogger...

    New workout suggestions?

Karen Voight's "great weighted workout" has light weight and high reps. A fun bootcamp style workout with light weights and high reps by her is "Your Personal Best Workout". It's easier than Cathe's workouts but the background is amazing (actual tropical island) and the ending is hilarious.

Cathe, Is it possible to purchase the "surprise gift"

RE: Cathe, Is it possible to purchase the I too am disappointed as I ordered all 4 DVDs on the first day of the sale with CKSALES. I thought we'd get the same consideration (gift) as we've been waiting just as patiently as everyone else. I used to order directly from Cathe.com until the time...

    Need help with 80s costume

If you go with the "Flashdance" theme don't forget the oversized off the shoulder sweatshirt, tights and leg warmers. Remember scrunchies were also totally in. I have fine hair so they always fell out of mine but I remember everyone colour co-ordinating their scrunchies with their outfits...

What workout did you do today?

I'm hoping to get on the bike today while watching a movie. I've got a killer cold (hoping it's in the last stages) which has been zapping my energy. I'm eager to do a Cathe tape but I needed a 3 hour nap after doing a tape last week during this cold so....

    HSTA or HSC?

Ideally I'd get both if I were you because they're both awesome. If you have to get just one: I'd recommend HSTA if you really want to work your upper body. There are some amazing exercises in this one: one armed tricep push ups (which kill me every time). The legs get an excellent workout too...

Which Cathe gave you best results?

The August 2005 rotation by Cathe gave me excellent results. It really made a difference on my mid-section. The challenge is to eat healthily while doing the rotation as it really made me hungry. It's excellent for increasing the metabolism. My second favorite rotation for results was January...

Is MIS Upper Body considered a heavy weight workout?

I'd recommend CTX Upper Body for a heavy weight workout or Pyramid upper body if you're working upper body once a week. I did CTX upper body as my only upper body workout last week and was pleased with the results. I haven't done MIS upper body for a while so I can't comment on it. I know it...

    gymstyle ???

Gymstyle chest is an excellent workout for chest definition without bulking. The drop set of pushups at the beginning can make your chest muscles have DOMS for up to 4 days (as I have discovered). I find gymstyle legs is an excellent endurance leg workout. Gymstyle back is fun.

Who has purchased the new workouts?

I pre-ordered them last year as soon as I was able to on CKSALES. I always pre-order the advanced workouts. I've enjoyed every workout I've purchased from Cathe...well except for the Slow and Heavy series. I love circuit so I'm really looking forward to these workouts.

How often do you weigh in?

I focus on how my clothes fit. I find the scale can be deceiving as I've increased the amount of weight lifting I do.

Have you guys seen this new stability ball?

The bosu is used for balancing. For example with the curved side down and the flat side up you do lunges with one foot on the bosu. Another exercise I've seen is push ups on the bosu up (again hands on the flat side). I've been trying to decide if it's worth the money. The cheapest one I've seen...

    Any ideas for reducing hunger

Stock the house with fruits and fresh veggies (carrots, celery, cucumber, tomatoes, peppers). Then make sure you have a snack every two hours. Snack healthy. I find because I'm very active that I get quite hungry and if I remember to have a small snack then I don't gorge when it's meal time...

What to get a 6 year old girl for her B-day?

My daughter just turned 7. She was thrilled over all of her presents. Very popular was crafts and ello. Ello allows you to build fantastic structures, take them apart and build something new. The shapes are quite unusual and lets kids use their imagination.

    Favorite movie heroine???

Mulan I know she's a cartoon but she is based on a real story and she's an excellent role model for my seven year old daughter.
