    Downward Facing Dog . . . with a dog

Canine Yoga Enhancement! :D I had a cat, my dear departed Murphy, who used to climb actually into my oversize t-shirt when I did down-dog. It made it a challenge to maintain focus I must say.....I loved that cat.

    It has been years

Hi Bobbi, and welcome back! Good for you for re-starting. I can't count how many times I've taken long breaks from working out and then made my way back. It's the getting back that matters. I was out for about a year and re-started this time in June with a LIS rotation. July is 4DS (how I...

    Estimated calorie burn?

I have the one with the chest band....and I believe they are considered more accurate...but I don't have anything to back that up. The band is relatively thin and I really don't notice it after I put it on - it sits under my sports bra so it just blends in to that sensory experience...

    Estimated calorie burn?

Another vote for the HRM. I've been tracking food and exercise off and on for years now. The Workout Manager is a terrific place to start BUT I find that it overestimates my calorie burn and that has led to a somewhat frustrating lack of progress in the weight loss. The HRM will keep you...

Hmm. Well, thanks for trying! I'll try again. Not sure what could be going wrong. Probably operator error....:o.

Thank you! I can tell you it was quite a workout wrestling that thing to the basement....:eek:.......! I'm going to try to let DH have the first workout on it as it was his birthday present after all..... But, I'm looking forward to taking for a spin. I think I will use one of the...

    New to Cathe

Welcome to Cathe and congratulations! I agree with all of Natalie's suggestions and Renee's. Those are great workouts. Low Impact Circuit is one of my all time favorites too - the music is fantastic! I'd also suggest the 4 Day Split series. It's advanced in some ways but modifiable -...

    Anyone buy an elliptical lately?

Thanks Heartymax! Of the ones DH tried yesterday he liked the Sole best. The height issue gets interesting. Not sure if he can use one in the basement at all. I'd love to use it but hate to go to the basement. This pretty much leaves us with parking it in the dining room LOL. I'd gladly...

    Anyone buy an elliptical lately?

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Tried the Soles, Livestrongs, & Nordictracks today. Definite "meh" from the birthday boy. We'll head out tomorrow to the specialty store and try their Octanes. I welcome any and all opinions! Thanks! *****for those of you with the Octane.....My Man...

    Anyone buy an elliptical lately?

We're in the market for an elliptical to replace the frequently-broken and insufficient-cardio-oomph recumbent bike. Has anyone purchased and elliptical in the past year or so? How do you like it...or not? There are a couple of older threads but I wondered if anything new and exciting has...

    Drop Sweatlets

I noticed it too! I think it's adorable. Actually, I'm glad they leave in some of these tiny mistakes. Adds to the "we're all in this together, it's ok if you just tripped over your step for the third time" feeling.

Younger looking skin, facial fillers, any recommendations?

Retinol products contain the same active ingredient as rx tretionoin - it's just in a form that has to be broken down by the skin. You will receive the same results - but it will take longer than if you used a rx formulation - it's all Vitamin A. Hydroquinone is also available without a...

    Who ordered???

I did on Sunday. The discs but no ride. I don't have a spin bike and that's not something I'm interested in right now. I've decided to treat myself to pre-orders whenever they're offered. The discount can't be beat and I love the idea of owning all this variety!

Out of proportion, looking for suggestios

LOL, Laura! I posted something similar a while back and I swear I think Cathe answered me. Maybe it was on fb...not sure. I'm *ahem* not at home at the moment and can't search for it but I will and I'll put her advice here. However....I'm not as advanced a work-out-er as you so it may or...
