    LIS shoes?

Cathe, What shoes are you all wearing in the LIS? Some of them look like they might work for racewalking (lower heel, flexible forefoot?). I'm liking the looks of the white ones in Afterburn and the black ones in another workout (I previewed several last night and can't remember which one it...

    Found some spinning shoes

They look cute (and are non-leather)! \ I wish they actually were true-to-size, as I wear a 40 in European shoes (which I thought was supposed to be a consistent sizing, not like American shoe sizes that can vary, because it's based on some specific metric measurement) and they would have been...

    Green Smoothies and Juices

Here are two simple smoothie recipes (I have a LOT more in my blog, under raw food: "Green (and not-so-green) smoothies" post): Chocolate milk of your choice (I use non-dairy) OR non-chocolate milk with a spoonful of cacao powder + sweetener if needed; handful of spinach; handful of frozen...

    Messages too short?

Debbie: I know that messages that are quoted (and appear in quote boxes, like the one in you last message) do not count towards the 10-word minimum word count. Don't know why cut-and-paste messages would, though.

    AM workout/what to eat???

Before morning workouts or races, I have smoothie. Usually 1 frozen banana, water or coconut water, a spoonful of chia seeds. To that, I add Vega preworkout energizer (açaí flavor) and/or a small handful of goji berries or of a berry trail mix (açaí, mulberry, Incan goldenberry).

    Almond Milk - Yum!

I actually don't have a recipe, per se. I just throw some ingredients together (you might be able to find an actual recipe online). I mix together the almond pulp, some shredded coconut, agave/maple syrup or whatever sweetener I decide on, a pinch of salt, some vanilla extract, to make a...

Surprising Reason Why All OJ tastes the same

This is disgusting, though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. So few processed foods are even 'foods' anymore. I very rarely buy OJ (sometimes when travelling), and prefer eating whole oranges (or making whole-orange 'juice' by just blending some peeled oranges up in my Vitamix).

    protein bar

I like Vega as well (I just looked at one, and it says 10 gm of protein). They just came out with some new ones, but I haven't tried them yet.

Important info on 'natural' foods (watch)

Glad you found a substitute. I've tried a couple of the Nature's Path cereals, and thought they were good.

Important info on 'natural' foods (watch)

It's your choice, but I believe in being informed before making choices that affect my health. And no, not everything is processed: fresh foods aren't. There are a lot of options beyond bacon, eggs, cheese, frosted flakes (and dirt!) and kashi that are both delicious and healthy. I...

Important info on 'natural' foods (watch)

Pretty much any corn, soy, canola or cotton (as in cottonseed oil) products that are not organic or specifically labeled "non-GMO") are genetically modified. And corn products show up in processed foods in a lot of different ways.

Important info on 'natural' foods (watch)

I stopped trusting (and eating) Kashi several years ago, before the USDA Organic labeling act was passed, and Kashi put "all organic ingredients" on the front of their packages, but had no organic certification mentioned, nor had any of the ingredients listed as organic. I figured out what...

    Doggie bladder infection?

Have you been to the vet, yet? I can't stress enough the importance of this. One of my male cats once had similar problems, I called for an appointment and got one for later in the day (which I thought was a bit odd), but got called back by the vet's office to have me bring him in immediately...

    Rotation Rules???

There is no one set of "rules" for a rotation, as they vary based on goals and needs, and where you are at in your fitness journey (for example, I'd recommned full-body workouts to beginners/intermediates, and split routines to intermediates/advanced). One thing that you should do, though, is...

    Doggie bladder infection?

Not sure about dogs, but when male cats have these symptoms, it's considered an emergency, as their urinary tract can easily become completely blocked and it can be fatal (females have a wider urinary tract, so it's not quite a urgent, though painful). Get thee to a vet immediately.

    Protein Powder

The free Sunwarrior sample offer expired a while ago. IMO, it's the best tasting healthy protein powder to drink just mixed with water.
