Tell me why/if I need STS

LOL - you're asking THIS group of women? That's like asking a guy if it's odd to be excited about getting a new car. Jessica - go ahead! Just do your 1 Rep Max. I did STS as my "get back into shape" after being out of the routine for a year. No problem at all.

    Last straw!

I remember feeling the same way as your son. When I'd complain that there was nothing to do, my mom would say "clean your room" and that ended the conversation. Don't get too frustrated with him, it's easy to get bored with things. How many Cathe workouts do you have because you need something...

    Workout Warriors - Jan 10th - Jan 16th

Hey ladies! This morning was Meso 1 week 3 Chest/Shoulders/Biceps. I really like Meso 1 and all, but I'll be glad when I can move on to Meso 2 and don't have so many darned push-ups! At least this time around on STS, I can actually do all the push-ups. Even those silly Elmo push-ups...

    Push/Pull Tower: Bench or step?

I use my step. I don't have the nice one that Cathe uses, I have an old Step Reebok one that only goes up to 10", so when I need to go higher, I use weight plates under it. I'd love Cathe's step, but I can't justify the cost.

    Back to calorie counting

Don't worry.... it will make you go bonkers and obsessive. It's inevitable. Good luck! For the record... when I have an extra 100 calories left, I drink a glass of wine. Problem solved.

Tell me why/if I need STS

I would say because it gives you great results, it's challenging and it's fun. I wouldn't say you NEED it, but if you have money that you've set aside to treat yourself and you want new workouts, STS is great. I got my very best results ever when I used it, while changing to a clean diet. I...

Is Picante sauce or salsa "clean food"?

I use an organic salsa on the bean burritos i make for lunch and it's been fine. Read the ingredients and decide.

    Workout Warriors Jan 3rd - Jan 9th

Hello ladies! I slept in until 9:00 this morning, which is completely unheard of for me. I did have to hide under the covers from my dogs to achieve that late hour, but it worked. I'm sure there's probably some pee on one of my rugs somewhere, but ehhh.... they need shampooing anyway. Yes...

What things can you NOT live without?

Well, if it was a matter of survival, food water, shelter, clothing, weapons... If it was surviving a zombie apocalypse, I'd need rifles, a cross bow and arrows, and a fortress with an unscalable wall. For surviving for any amount of time in Western NY, I would need lots of blankets...

STS Meso 3 - Plyo Legs or Squat Rack Routine

Plyo, I'd think. It's more endurance, where Squat Rack is all about the strength. When I do Meso 3, I do both. Plyo on one day and Squat Rack on another - just because I love leg workouts and plyo exercises are fantastic for runners.

Anyone tried STS with this rotation?

Most days it's a moderate run, I'm building for distance to run a half marathon in May and a 25k in July. One day a week I do short sprints at the end of my run. The only time I've had trouble with an STS workout was last week when I did an STS Leg workout on the same day that I ran. Now I...

    Discs and other suggestions

I use plastic disposable plates. They work pretty well.

Is it possible to go from home execiser to Fitness Instructor?

I think it's absolutely possible. I've belonged to gyms before and gotten absolutely no useful guidance from the staff. The only time I got decent progress was when I found Cathe - she's an excellent example to use as your role model. If you're going to go for certification, you will learn...

    Workout Warriors Jan 3rd - Jan 9th

Morning. I'm posting via my iPod because my dd gas control of my laptop. I'm supposed to be practicing my Chopin Nocturne right now, but it's slow going and decided to check-in instead. I wanted to comment on specific posts but it's too hard to move between my post and others on the pod and I...

Favorite bed-time stories you read to your kiddos

I was big on Where The Wild Things Are and The Giving Tree. I always got so pissed at that kid who grew into such a greedy man. Then of course, all the Winnie the Pooh stories. My favorite was Eeyore's birthday.

    RocketFish Stereo Headset Bluetooth

Not sure who it was on here who recommended this, but thanks! My dog chewed my Motorola headset that I was using with my Touch and I replaced it with the less expensive, but far superior RocketFish based on your recommendation. Way more comfy and much better sound. Right on!!!

    Love my Garmin 305

Glad you're loving it. I don't use any of the calorie calculators on machines. I use a formula I found online which incorporates your VO2 Max. Being the dork that I am, I recreated the formula into a database that I built to store all my Garmin data. By boyfriend just laughs at me, but I can...
