    My annual hair removal thread

The first time I did it, I didn't think I had anything on my upper lip and I know she was removing hair (she did my entire face)...I was shocked and impressed. It's not totally painfree but 100% better than waxing in every way...(almost everytime I got waxed I end up with awful bumps or red...

    My annual hair removal thread

Try threading. I love it and won't ever have anything else done ever on my face. I've blistered too many times from bad waxing (it looks really awful on the eyebrows when they screw up with too much heat). Threading is wonderful....quick with no bumps or rashes. (I have blond fine har...so...

    My Biannual Clothing Crisis Shout-Out

A-Jock....I am also a size zero so I'm looking forward to the replys on this post. Banana Republic is not anywhere near a size zero and Anne Taylor is hit or miss....yep, they are so much bigger (you may be able to find a 00 which may actually fit). Real Housewives of N.J....

I had to see what all the hoopla was all about so I watched an episode. Personally, I think all those women and men are no better than back street trailer trash. I hope I didn't offend any trailer trash by even putting those people in the same league. Gossiping back stabbing slime is probably...

I have an idea for our next book

I didn't have a chance to join in on the last book....I got really caught up in the ones I was reading at time, but I definitely do want want to read Frankenstein. (I downloaded it onto my kindle a while ago with plans to read it.) Recently, I just started another book that I also would like to...

Do you have a favorite book?

I guess it depends on my favorite most recently read book and that would have be "The Vagrants" by Yiyun Li. I like that it's loosely based on real life events and the characters are really complex and unpredictable (not just good and bad). If anyone has a little time, it's so worth reading. You...

Just to stir up a hornet's nest, what does everyone think about this?

Really think about it when you think you have the right to make the decision for other peoples lives: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7301566.stm

Saying good bye to my dog...

Lori, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts truly are with with you. I also have a wonderful dog, Katie, who I honestly don't think is long for this world. Although Katie is only 3 years old she has many health issues. She has a severe case of idiopathic epilespsy and some odd...

    Custom of the Country

Oops...I'm a late getting started, but don't count me out. I've been reading "Age is Just a Number" by Dara Torres (I just adore her spirit) and "Dominion" by Mathew Scully. I'll catch up. ;) Hey Jo....did you know they are coming out with a new Kindle? I want it...lol...

    Swine Flu affecting your area?

I live about 45 minutes away from Fort Worth.....and we also have a few local school closings here (some just miles from my home). People are beyond nervous....Purell and face masks are not to be found in any of the local drugstores. Now, the first Dallas DISD school has just announced a...

    Stephanie Meyer & Twilight series

I enjoyed book 1....but book 2 never hit the mark. I also enjoyed books 3 and 4....they weren't substantial in any way and honestly, I didn't walk away with any heart sunk extra knowledge....I just chalk them up to a fun waste of time. ETA: Yep, I enjoyed them.

what to eat at Olive Garden???

I make this copycat recipe quite a bit with no-salt beans....it's not perfect, but it does come very close texture wise (and your rings won't be tight the next day from the sodium content ;)) : http://www.recipezaar.com/Copycat-Olive-Garden-Minestrone-Soup-by-Todd-Wilbur-77585 Enjoy!

Oh Kim....you're so funny! I also read 3 books in the Twighlight series in the last week (I just had to find out what all the hoopla was all about)....I would have finished the 4th book, but I got caught up in a much better read called "The Vagrants" (it's not fantasy, but incredible literary...

AIG planning to sue gov - Grrr!

Yes....so far most of those who received the biggest bonuses have given it back (the last time I looked it was 15 out of 20 of the top US recipients). I do hope the other recipients come around. Although I know there is supposedly no interest in publishing the names of these people, I'm...

AIG planning to sue gov - Grrr!

Lauramax, I hope these articles help explain it: http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=3512 http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2009/03/20/1846610.aspx Believe me....I don't, in any way, want to see AIG get our money either, but they may actually have a very strong case.
