    Spending money? How much?

Ok, so realistically, how much extra spending, fun time, cash do I need to bring. What am I going to have to buy or regret forever that I didn't buy it? We're making this part of a family vacation, and I've got the rest figured out, spending wise, but how much am I going to drop in Cathe land? Nan

Floorwork Fatality (if you're a runner, a rec)

I just got this 2 weeks ago. I've done each section twice so far. #1 on Weds, and #2 on Saturdays. I've always known I kinda suck at floor work. But, YEOWCH!!!!!!!!!! The first one is tough but not so bad. The hip section on the second one had me hanging onto my mat for dear life and begging...

    Help me name my puppy

What are your interests? Favorite book characters? Musicians? Go with that. We current have Vlad the dog and Cersei and Apollymi the cats, all from books. Previous pets were Spyro the dog (video game) and Merlin the cat. And Cake, Hulk, and Camo the hermit crabs. When I was a kid, we had...

    Dog Food

Vlad eats Nature's Recipe Salmon, Sweet Potato, and Pumpkin dry food. He used to eat Purina Dog Chow, but he has itchy skin, and the food switch cleared it up nicely. Took probably 2 months to really start to see the improvement, but now no more itchies. He used to have bald spots on his front...

Any suggestions for pain relief or healing for a herniated disc?

I didn't do PT. I had to lay off the high heels for a while, though. And I hardly ever wear them now. I'm guessing he doesn't wear 5 inch heels on a regular basis, though. It took several month to go away completely, and every now it again it fusses at me. Upward dogs are bad and aggravate...

Any suggestions for pain relief or healing for a herniated disc?

Been there! Ow!!! I didn't find that any painkillers really helped. Mine was in my low back, and I found heat helped the most, and laying forward across the stability ball to open it up a bit. But I guess that depends on where it is. I hope he feels better soon! Nan

    Muscle Strain Question

I'd say ice, advil (ibuprofen) and stretch. Leave it alone for workouts, and see if it clears up. Nan

    ITB issues/surgery?

The massage therapist helps, but only for a few days. The PT massage, too. I had an hour lower body massage last week that had tears in my eyes. But it felt so good when she was done.

    ITB issues/surgery?

The quick back story, I'm a runner. Medium-high mileage, probably 20-40 a week, sometimes 50 or 60. I trained for 3 marathons last year, but only ran 2 as one was cancelled due to weather. I thought the weather was ok to run, but that's another rant. I had a marathon last weekend, so started...

    STS Total Body workout card

It's all out of order today. I added it last night from the May 2012 STS/LIS rotation. Exercises are repeated and way out of order/out of grouping. Can you take a look? Thanks! Nan

    I HATE STEP!!!

You can also try going way back to Step Heat and Step Jam. They are more straight line choreo and will get you used to her style. They are either on the Classics DVD or the Greatest Hits Vol 1. Actually, both of those DVDs have very easy to follow step routines, with long breakdowns. You just...

    Collage Video Will Return?

Hmmmm....that is odd. I wonder if maybe they're going to an all digital format? That would make sense. But then why a Going Out of Business sale? Nan

    Dvd series for older folks?

I'm not Cathe, but I think some of her older, full body DVDs would work. They also, if I recall correctly, have upper/lower premixes so you don't have to do the same thing every day. I would vote for SuperSets and PushPull, which are on the same DVD. She uses lighter weights on these, and...

    Another Sad Day - Update

Ow!!! And I hear ya!!! I have arthritis in my knees, back, hips, wrists, elbows, and neck. I suspect in my shoulder, too. Basically, it it's a joint, it's there. No good. I find that exercise really does help. Pushups aggravate my wrists, but I cna deal with it. Over the counter pain...

    Who's In??

So excited to meet everyone. Lots of you live on my Facebook, but real people are more fun. I'm glad I'm not the only new person! I've thought about going in the past, but I was all "it's 100 people who know each other, and then me in the corner". I know that's not true, but I'm glad I'm not...
