Horseshowmom . . . I do agree with you. I was reading through the thread and not too far into it I saw someone refer to Palin as "Satan". Sorry, but that comment might be expected from a 12 year old, but not from adults. The thread was about who she resembles, and that was where it should...

    New puppy....need name suggestions

How about something like "Taco"? I love it when the name fits the "ethnicity" of the dog - we have a border collie (Scotland) named Angus. Just a thought! Congrats and enjoy the little one! So tiny, I'd be afraid of breaking him/her! Mo

    Funny/Crazy Things Pets Do

I have a 12 year bordie collie mix - Angus. We can make him sneeze on command . . . but can't necessarily get him to stop! All we have to do is start saying "achoo" a couple of times and the poor fella starts a-sneezing. Eventually he gets mad at us and barks, but it is a hoot! Mo

    Love/Hate Living with someone

This is an interesting topic . . . and before I answer, let me relate a story my mom shared with me. I was complaining about the whiskers that my DH leaves in the sink when he shaves. And she put things into perspective for me - fast! My dad passed away when I was 9, and she used to hate the...

Fat Burner that works for lower body

Congratulations! Would you be willing to post some photos? I'm always awed by women who compete . . . so much discipline. Mo

    video night n snacks

All the snack suggestions are great . . . I just do air popped popcorn, no butter, little seasoning. Pretty guilt free. And I am in state of complete envy over your hot temperatures! I'm in Wisconsin and they are predicting snow flurries today - bummer. Mo

This is the STRANGEST thing--ever happened to you?

Another Lobster story . . . When I was in high school, I spent the Christmas holiday with my sister who lived in Arizona at the time. She thought it would be great to buy a couple of lobsters and cook them at home for Christmas dinner. We got them home, put the biggest pot on the stove and...

    Presidental Election

Sorry, couldn't resist . . . ". . . not taking care of our own people at home, . . ." That being said - for those of you that feel this way, how many of you will be donating your tax rebate to charity? Mo

    Presidental Election

Those early tax cuts prevented us from going into a recession immediately following 9/11. Our economy would have fallen apart. The recent tax rebates are political fluff with really no impact as far as I'm concerned. And the war . . . well, it is more complex of a situation than this site...

    Presidental Election

Although I have issues with McCain, I am a conservative at heart so that's where my vote lies. I believe in less government intervention (no bailouts when it comes to mortgages, gas prices or healthcare). And interesting to me to hear people complain about where the country is at at this point...

    Bill O'Reilly Rant

I agree with you . . . thank goodness for those networks that provide the "other side" of things. I think we are force fed through most network outlets that are very selective about the information they provide and we need to seek out other sources. I'm also a Hannity fan. As far as O'Reilly...

    Happy St. Patty's Day to Everyone . . .

Well aware of the "Americanization" of the holiday . . . I'm still trying to find a bar keep that can pour a 4 leaf clover into the foam of my pint! Mo

    Happy St. Patty's Day to Everyone . . .

Just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful St. Patrick's Day - this "holiday" is near and dear to me. For those of you celebrating with a libation or two - Slainte! (To health). Kind of ironic to be toasting to someone's health as they down a pint! Mo

    Desperate Housewives

We've substitued "Dexter" for Desperate Housewives . . . not sure what happened to that show but "Dexter" fills the void wonderfully. It was a Showtime series I guess. Mo

    opinions on tax rebate

The only way to boost the economy is long term tax breaks that everyone will feel paycheck to paycheck. More money in peoples' pockets on an ongoing basis to assist them with their financial obligations long term - not a one time check - will benefit the most. Think about it, if you're having...

For those in the health ins industry (long)

Frustrating to say the least . . . bottom line, don't hesitate to go to your state's commissioner of insurance - once a case reaches that level, claims get paid. I'm guessing charges are under $100? Not worth the cost of administering an appeal to fight that on their end. Good luck. Mo

Lower Body Fat - Staying Warm

Wow - I actually didn't expect this topic to elicit so many responses! Granted, I have dropped some weight, but I also attribute my inability to get the "chill" out of my bones to getting older. The older I get, the less I care for this weather. The bright side? Chivering burns calories...
