    Post-STS Strength program

    i did cathe's june rotation, which was excellent and had a good mix of STS workouts from Meso 1. I may do the July rotation as well and then start another STS cycle.

    I did the same thing - I kept that schedule throughout meso 1, but I did find myself hungry ALL the time.....hang in there if you can - it gets better in meso 2 :-) less hunger pains

    average running speed?

    10 min miles average - not sure about that.....Average running speed is about 8 to 9 minute miles (sadly, I currently fall into this category). 7 min miles to 7.5 min miles for women is considered competitive (but not ridiculously fast). Hope your race went well!

    June 30th: My last cigarette!!!

    Best of luck - you can definitely do it. My dad was a smoker for 20+ years, quit cold turkey and turned into marathon man running 5 minute miles - mind over matter! Are they really going to enforce this ban :-) holiday will be so much more enjoyable then this year :-)

    Just to chime in here - Julie and Jennifer are 100% on target - plyo legs has definitely helped me increase speed, but I would do it early on in training and then taper off by end of Sept if your marathon is in Nov. From a weekly perspective, doing it early in the week prior to running sessions...
