    Just starting STS

"ACTIVE RECOVERY WEEK…Do cardio activities, yoga workouts, stretch programs , or even totally rest but NO WEIGHT TRAINING THIS WEEK!!!" I copied the above from the sticky post: STS Cardio Rotation Suggestions (at the top of the STS Forums). This was stated right after Week 4. I took the...

Just started STS - should I do 3-month or 6-month rotation?

I ended up purchasing the tower and used it for the first time today. I was amazed at what a difference it made in the pull ups/chin ups! (I was using the tubing beforehand). I can still only do about 4 really good push ups on my toes, but I'm happy.:) I am the most sore today than I've...

Gonna go Dr. Phil on my son!

Pam, When my oldest was 7 (he's now 12) I became desperate and tried something similar. Now he gets things taken away such as the xbox, tv, time w/friends, etc. Or I make him WORK, or sometimes work in addition to something taken away. Also, when he is going through a pattern of bad...

What are your favorite Christmas movies??

Also a big fan of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! Love that one! It's a Wonderful Life Elf Rudolph A Christmas Story (This one isn't actually a favorite, as much as the memories of it each year--my husband knows it by heart and cracks up at it every year while I'm up during the wee...

    Ryka vs. Asics Crosstrainers

Clare, Yes, I did mention to the salesperson (who happens to also be a personal trainer) that I do step aerobics, kickboxing, lateral movements, the elliptical, and strength training. I am holding off on plyo moves right now as I think that may have contributed to my neuroma flaring up. I...

Just started STS - should I do 3-month or 6-month rotation?

Way to go! So glad to know there's hope! I felt like a failure doing most of them on my knees.:o I've decided to start with the 3-month rotation. After all the talk of the new DVDs I'd like to try some (maybe all;)) of them out, then go for the 6-month rotation to take me through the summer.:D

    Ryka vs. Asics Crosstrainers

I recently purchased two pairs of shoes from Zappos (Asics Gel Intensity and Asics 260 TR Crosstrainers) and chose to keep the Asics Gels for my workouts. I was surprised how uncomfortable the Asics 260s felt compared to the Gels. But everyone's feet are different. After wearing the Asics...

I just started STS yesterday (finally:))and I loved it! I was curious if anyone else happened to start yesterday too, and if you were doing the 3-month or 6-month rotation? For those who have done both, which would you recommend? This is my first time and I'm so excited! :D Thanks...

    Morton's Neuroma

That's interesting...I do have pretty high arches. My feet also over-pronate, and in general just seemed to be pretty messed up! I agree with you on the supportive footwear. I never thought I would find myself in those "comfort shoe" type shoe stores, but their shoes are definitely worth...

    Morton's Neuroma

I'm sorry it resulted in surgery for you, but glad to hear you haven't had any problems since. I always have shoes on, and try to wear orthotics in them when I can. We have wood floors and I've found that I absolutely can't go barefooted on them!

    Morton's Neuroma

Thanks Elaine! I'm sorry to hear you are still battling with this somewhat. I'm going to try the two things you recommended. I checked them both out on Amazon and they seem like they would be helpful. I iced it this morning and that helped too. I'm also taking an anti-inflammatory...

    Turning 30

Happy Birthday! I agree with the other posters. It only gets better! Yes, I had a hard time turning 30, but life has become sooo much better in so many ways! I think people (including myself:rolleyes:) get hung up on the number. I was much wiser when I turned 40!:D Hopefully you can get...

    Christmas presents for pets

Since my kids always remind me I usually get at least a toy or bone (no kitties here, although my 5-year-old would like one of THOSE to be his present:D). This year we also have a puppy and she's forever needing a new toy so I'm sure she'll get something too. I've never had a puppy go through...
