    Les Mills, anyone use??

If you're not sure if you want to sign up to Les Mills but you want something different, you could take a look at Tom Peto Training on YouTube. I've been doing quite a few of his workouts this year where I've needed something shorter or just a bit different. He has a lot of free workouts on...

    Les Mills, anyone use??

I haven't done Les Mills on demand, but I have the Pump workouts on DVD (using a barbell) which was a collaboration with Beach Body. This has a mix of shorter and longer workouts, but the shorter workouts just skip muscle groups, so you need to do the full-length workouts (of which there are...

    Anyone use a Vibration Plate?

We had the PowerFit brand being advertised on TV all the time several years ago. This is the simple plate that you stand on and it oscillates. I was thinking of getting one and had the opportunity to try one at the Pilates studio I go to a few years ago. I didn't like it. Even on the lowest...

This is so true. And not all the messaging is subtle.

    November 2023 Rotation

I believe it is Week 2 with the 4 Day Split Series. You do the entire workout including the Heavy Weights sections. So, for Monday it is Boot Camp + Heavy Weights Biceps & Triceps.

    Body Parts "Extreme" premixes

I made my own timesaver combo premixes using the workout blender. These are shorter workouts, around 40-50 minutes, based on the standard body parts combo premixes with 2 workouts for each combo premix with the order swapped. So, I have one workout for Chest and Triceps, and another workout...

    Recovery Week

I know what you mean. I went straight from STS 2.0 to doing Tom Peto's 6-week Dumbbell Lift Series on YouTube. I'm halfway through week 5. The series incorporates a mobility stretch and 2 rest days each week, so it's only 4 days of lifting and the workouts are about 30 minutes. Even so...

    STS 2.0 Done! What's Next?

Congrats! I've just finished it too. I did total body, upper/lower, mixed body parts (i.e. 2 body parts per workout), then back to total body, and finished with individual body parts. I've definitely gained strength with this series. Most notably was when I did the triceps body part and did...

Pre-Order My 4 New Workouts - Estimated To Ship In December 2023

You're welcome. I wish I had known about this before I bought mine. I bought mine on Trade Me, which is a local site similar to Ebay. The price was about mid-range, $30 NZD including shipping (approx. $17-18 USD). The product actually shipped out of China. Just had a look on Amazon and it...

Pre-Order My 4 New Workouts - Estimated To Ship In December 2023

It gave me a fright the first time I used it when the ball and rope went flying across the room. After that I always make sure and check before I use it. It hasn't come completely undone since, but it sometimes does partially unscrew. I've never had a problem with the other end where the...

Pre-Order My 4 New Workouts - Estimated To Ship In December 2023

Wow, these workouts look great! I stopped buying DVDs due to shipping issues to New Zealand during Covid and started using OnDemand instead. Now, even though I have a lot of Cathe DVDs, I prefer OnDemand and the Workout Blender and hardly ever use DVDs. I'm looking forward to the barbell...

    Yoga Relax!

I once did a yoga class on YouTube that was 90 minutes long. I found it hard to stay focused on moving and breathing properly for that length of time. Consequently, I don't think I got any added benefit from a longer class. I prefer 30-40 minutes for yoga.

    Heavy Weight Training vs Endurance

With STS 2.0 I've had good strength gains and maintained my weight. I haven't been able to do proper cardio for a while due to a sore hip and was concerned about weight gain. But thankfully, that hasn't happened while doing STS 2.0. I am looking at changing to some faster paced lifting...

    Why STS 2.0 works!

That hasn't happened to me yet. Maybe I just haven't done enough blended workouts yet. :) I agree though it would be neat.

    Why STS 2.0 works!

I do this too. I try to make it so my workouts flow without the need to actually pause the workout, so I sometimes need to switch exercises around or insert longer breaks if I need to change equipment. That way I also know the total time for the workout, including breaks.

    Why STS 2.0 works!

My normal pattern of workout is to do one or two days then a recovery day. I get too sore otherwise, which then compromises future workouts. Sometimes I need two recovery days in a row. I did a monthly Cathe rotation once a couple of years ago, with only one rest day, and that was really...

    Just a special thanks....

I'm loving this series too. I agree with aqua girl, the chaptering makes it easy to blend workouts. I like how there are different options for some of the exercises so I can try out different variations each time I do the workout. And I'm loving the recovery workouts. I find I do that...
