Hair color for covering gray hair....

Well that's easy to say if the texture of your grey hair is the same as it was before it started turning. There are different types of grey, and I'm one of the unfortunate ones with that wiry, frizzy grey. NO WAY I'm embracing that!

Hair color for covering gray hair....

I agree, it's expensive to keep up your color with a beautician. That's what I do and wouldn't have a clue what to recommend for home hair color. However, unless your hair doesn't grow at all, nothing is going to last 2 months!

    vitamins

Thanks cecififi, I appreciate the info. I'm pretty well versed on calcium supplements and the benefits and risks. I've been diagnosed with osteopenia, so it's important that I take a supplement. I'm not taking the mega calcium supplements (Boniva, Fosamax etc.) and those are the ones...

    Treadmill Dancing!

Both of these clips are cool! I do a lot of treadmill running in the winter months, so several things come to mind ..... First I have to wonder what speed they are going. I am confused by the one in Madeira. It says 7.5 - 8mph? That's insane! I can barely run that fast. Wonder if that's...

Which is tougher, B&G or L&G?

It's my favorite warm up too! It's just FUN! It's the only warm up I can think of that makes me feel happy before doing the workout. :D

    Always Sore?

I am pretty much always sore in some way and I've been working out for years. I'm sore because I do so many different kinds of workouts and my muscles don't become used to any one thing. I change it up every day. It's when I'm not sore that I realize my body needs to be challenged by...

    Cost of alteration?

It would completely depend on what you were having done to the dresses. I am small also, and spend a lot of money getting things altered. It is not cheap, especially if you find a good alterations person. Hemming can run up to $20 per garment or more, depending on if there is a lining to hem...

Full sit ups back in style?

Of course you know as soon as I read this I had to run downstairs, set up my step on 4 risers, and try it. :p It was actually easy for me, as I am very strong in the core. However, it definitely forces you to use your core more than if you were on the floor with your knees bent. Thanks for...

    Starving!!

Yes! It has always been that way for me. I keep up my appetite by working out. If I decrease my workouts, or take a vacation from them, my appetite drops and I lose weight.

Full sit ups back in style?

I didn't realize they were out of style! I've continued to do them, in addition to crunches, all along. As with anything, I think mixing it up is what always works best!

    When friends disappoint you

Tracy, I mean this truly in the spirit of a friendly discussion (not arguing with you), but I think you are comparing apples to oranges. For someone to say they are sending healing energy is not any different in meaning than saying they are going to pray. It's their thoughts and their intent...

    When friends disappoint you

Bam, You've gotten some really helpful, thoughtful adivice from everyone already, so forgive me if anything I say is repetitive. I'm really sorry you are so sick. And I'm also sorry that your friends have disappointed you. I find that if I set expectations on people, they will almost always...

How do your store your Workout DVDs?

I've thought about this too. Sometimes it's tough to get the DVD out of the case and I worry about it cracking over time. However, I'm like Tracy, I have to look at the cases to make my decision every day. I don't do rotations, or even plan ahead what my workout will be. My method is to...

How do your store your Workout DVDs?

Mine are in their own special closet that's in my exercise room. I keep them in their orginal cases and have them lined up on shelves, grouped by instructor.

Advice on cold weather running gear needed

Me too Tracy! :D Thank goodness for my trusty treadmill! When it's cold here, it's a wet, windy, nasty cold. There just isn't anything I can wear that keeps my ears from aching and my throat from hurting when inhaling that cold air. I admire those tough enough to get out in it, but have...

great deal 25% off athletic shoes

Clare, thanks so much for letting me know. I still can't get it to work for the Mizuno Wave Rider, which is what I wear. It tells me "this brand does not allow advertised discounts". There *are* some Mizunos on sale for a pretty good price. I am wearing the WR 15 now and really want the WR...

    Invisible 50s

This is what I've always done... donate it to some place like Goodwill or The Salvation Army. I am going to try to be a bit more frugal though, and thought maybe I could get some $$ back before I spend more!

    Invisible 50s

Now that we're talking great clothes and cool closets, that reminds me of another thing that's good about being in our 50's.... the ability to afford all of this wonderful stuff! I could never afford such nice clothing/shoes/jewelry 30 years ago. Life is good!
