    Pre-workout Snack

RE: I've read contrasting advice That's really interesting, Debra. Amazing how there's so much conflicting info out there! And the worst part is, I can usually read most stuff and end up thinking at least part of it makes sense....until I read the next thing and part of THAT makes sense, too...

    Pre-workout Snack

A thought about dairy before working out (m) About 2 years ago, I read a really interesting post here about what people ate before working out. And someone (I think it was Cathe) said that she couldn't eat dairy before working out because it made her stomach upset. Well, I had been trying to...

When was YOUR first sign of fatigue/exhaustion?

Hi Myra! I think this is another one of those "every body is different" kind of things. To be honest, fatigue didn't really hit me until my second trimester!! I'm 22 weeks now, and it's really been the last 4 or 5 that have been tough. Right when I conceived, though, my "symptoms" were so...

Who knows, but just in case...

I'm no expert, but I am newly pregnant Well, I'm 20 weeks, so not really all that "newly" anymore! Anyway, I didn't cut down on my exercise/intensity when trying to conceive but I also didn't go out of my way to really push myself extra hard, either. In other words, I kept running but decided...

    Calf muscle cramping? Help!

He might want to try a calcium supplement I don't know if this would help a non-pregnant man, but it is the advice given to pregnant women who get leg cramps. LOL!! Seriously, though, it couldn't hurt. I think the other recommended thing is magnesium. Lucy K

Thanks, Sheila! Thanks for this info. I'm filing it in my mental "exercise file" for this pregnancy -- which keeps getting bigger and bigger!! Lucy K

Want to hit inner thighs .. any tape suggestions?

Yet another vote for PS SLA and GWW I'm the same way with GWW -- hate the first section so I'll do another UB workout and then the floor and ab sections of GWW. I did it on Friday and my quads are still sore! Lucy K

How to find certified prenatal instructors/classes in my area

A city girl here Hi Michelle. I live right in center city- close to Rittenhouse Square. DH and I have been here almost 5 years, and I love it. He knew he would -- he went to school at Penn -- but I didn't realize how comfortable I would feel here. I completely feel like it's home to me! Lucy K

    Does MIS use a step?

I modify since I'm "stepless" I do MIS without a step. I just do the warm-up on the floor and try to use big motions to make up for the lack of up-down movement. For the lunges, I usually just use two phonebooks stacked on top of each other, although I've considered using my Rubbermaid stool...

How to find certified prenatal instructors/classes in my area

Hi all. At 8 weeks, I'm still doing fine with my gym and video workouts. However, I'm really interested in finding a local class geared specifically towards pregnant women. Does anyone know if there's a website or some other source of information that can point me in the right direction...

    Good nursing bras?

I've heard the one at Title 9 Sports is good Although I have no personal experience, it's just what I've heard. Title 9 is a little on the pricey side, but not too unreasonable, I don't think. Their nursing bra is called "The Best Nursing Bra Ever" (not that they toot their own horn, or...

trying to predict my ovulation date???HELP!

Might be able to provide some info Not sure I can answer all of your questions, though. First, just because you have regular cycles does not necessarily mean that you ovulate every month. Although I *think* that if your cycles are really regular (like every 28 days), then it is likely that...

    exercise and altitude

Thanks everyone! Just wanted to say thanks for the responses. I checked with my Dr and she said to not worry about the altitude, so I'm all set. Of course, this morning I woke up with a little spotting (which has since gone away). So something new to worry about. Now I'm waiting for a call...

    exercise and altitude

Hi all. I just found out I'm pregnant a week ago (yeah!) and I have a ski vacation to Colorado planned next week. I plan to take it easy and be conservative (which won't be hard because I'm always a conservative, even though advanced, skier). I read Brigitta Gallo's "Expecting Fitness" book...
