Exactly! I can't tell you how many times I've deleted the link from my favorites bar lately only to log back on.:eek: One thing I like is the Exchange listing. I have had tremendous luck trading workouts with people on there! It saves quite a bit of money as long as you are patient enough to see if you can arrange a trade for what you want. I may have to take a hiatus from the General Discussion section though. Seriously, there is sooo much complaining and whining. I hate to be negative or judgmental and say that but it's just getting ridiculous. Oh well, it was fun for awhile. :)

Is Cathe going to be on Facebook or on this site to answer questions?
 
Out of curiosity, I went to VF. Oh, now I see what you were saying :(. Ya, people are hating on her real bad. Oh well, that's life I suppose. You can't win em' all. As far as I'm concerned, Cathe puts out amazing stuff. The proof is in the results. I was never able to tone down my thighs & butt. Cathe did that for me. I am her fan and I will continue to be. Get out of that forum Colleen!! People calling her w/o's puke in a bucket??!!! C'mon now. No class. AND YES, I know I will be waiting for my DVD's until probably fall/winter, and that's ok. I have lots of other w/o's to keep me busy until then :)
 
Yep. I'm definitely going to stay off that forum for awhile. I just feel like I don't have a lot in common with the majority of folks that go on there these days...or at least the ones that are the loudest and post the most. There are a few of us intensity junkies/Cathletes but it seems we're getting drowned out. Couple that with all the ridiculous whining and a few times (including my own thread I told you about) where people were negative and even nasty toward some other posters and I've had enough. I may have to go on once in awhile to post an exchange list. That's one thing about Cathe's workouts. I know if I don't click with a particular workout of hers it always trades well on there! Yet, people complain about her...:rolleyes:.

I've never gone on that site's forum. I have a friend who's not very fond of Cathe either. Before her, I thought everybody loved Cathe and if they didn't, it was because they didn't know about her. My friend knows not to say a bad word about Cathe to me.
 
New workouts! I'm so excited! I will definitely be pre-ordering soon.

This week, I'm doing Body Blast. Today was Step Blast and Stretch Max (segment 1). Yesterday, I did Supersets and Core Max (segment 3).
 
I just went on videofitness forum. Interesting. I guess everybody doesn't want high intensity workouts and that's understandable. That seemed to be the gist of most the comments not in favor of Cathe's new workouts. Seems like they want more of her older-style workouts. Cathe is ever evolving and it seems that some are not favorable to the change. Most of them seemed to have been Cathe fans in the past. They are probably hoping that Cathe will slow down as she gets older, but she's doing just the opposite. I love that she keeps upping her game!

How are you? I read on FB about the new workouts, I am excited. It took me by surprise for sure.
Update on closure.
About 7 years ago, my former supervisor told this examiner I had a crush on him for about 7 years truthfully. Call it lust or chemistry but it was there. With my emotional closure of leaving my former employer, I decided to send a letter of closure to him as well for me to move on. He responded, first of all, stunned that he did. Secondly, he stated it would be better that if I stayed here in my area for a job instead of moving back to Detroit. Also, he requested friendship on Facebook but couldnt get onto my profile cause its locked. Then, he stated that his daughter is now old enough that he could move as well for a job. Yes, he remembers and might be curious. So, my closure of work doesnt include him. The professional integrity and conflict of interest issues no longer exist. The decision to send a letter came from my inner voice/gut and the decision to check that email account came from some guy from his town acting funny towards me yesterday at the program. Not sure if they are friends or not.
Now, to get my focus back on getting a job and my meeting today. GOD only knows what will happen. Next week, I close out my account with my former employer so life is good with that.
 
Also, the lady that gave me grief last week made it a point to say Hello to me yesterday. Glad she took the high road.
Yes, I did order b/c one time I didn't and regretted it. Never again. Im afraid though. Cathe knows how to predict where fitness is headed, going backwards will not be beneficial.

I really enjoyed reading about your physical attraction with your former examiner and your attempt to contact him. It's so funny (and real) how sometimes certain "feelings" never go away for people even though you have been disconnected.
As far as that lady who gave you trouble, maybe she realized her actions were wrong. You showed her how to act with dignity and class. I am sure she is embarrassed.

I agree with what you said about "Cathe's Hater's". She can't keep the style she had 5 or 10 years ago. The fitness industry has changed. People need to accept this and move on. I believe she is also trying to "market" her workouts to include younger generations while trying to keep her older, loyal fans. Somewhere along the way, you are going to have people who lose interest. That's just the way things are I suppose.
Great workouts for the week! I did Step Blast the other day and was gleaming with joy!! I can do complex choreo now!! I am so proud of me!!

Disc 14 of STS kicked my butt! I am so sore today from the bottom of my ribs on down! I wasn't even sure I was feeling the deadlifts in my lower back but, yep...I've got DOMS there too!:eek: Cardio suffered today (did Michelle Dozois Cardio Interval Burn but only made it 35 minutes in!). I think it was good that I at least got a little blood flowing to those muscles!

Natty- I've totally done that where I wake up thinking about my workout...I also do that when I'm trying to fall asleep sometimes ("which one do I want to do tomorrow? Hmmm")

Jen-I'm so glad that lady is being normal to you. Like Natty said, I bet she's a little humbled by the fact you kept your cool while she was being an idiot. Maybe she was just having a bad day and was taking it out on you. I know I've had days when I wasn't quite proud of my behavior because I was in a terrible mood...:eek: Good luck with your examiner...potential for romance maybe?;)

Nikki-your totally right about the folks on VF who complain about Cathe the loudest. They are mostly all former hard core Cathe fans who either can't do her intense workouts anymore due to physical limitations (and I always get the sense a lot of those people are frustrated by that and jealous of those of us that can), want her to stay stagnant and keep producing what she has in the past, or they have moved on to a different style of training. Moving on is fine, but I don't understand why they obsessively follow her and always come onto threads about her to comment. It's like...move on already if you are actually moving on! A few people still like her workouts but get frustrated by things like when the preorders are delayed but I'm like so what? Why get all worked up about a series not coming out when expected? It'll be here eventually so calm down about it...especially if this has historically been the case. I decided I'm going to stay away from that forum for awhile because I get tired of the buzzkill when they rip on my favorite instructor.:cool:

Hello ladies!
Just popping in to read -quickly- what's going on with you and see that you're doing all pretty well. We're fine here, but it's freezing cold and snow is our best companion this time of the year. We had some troubles with the heating at work on the past 2 days, but now they fixed everything (so no more 3 sweaters layer and no more looking like a muffin top :D). I had a good start with my rotation on Monday but yesterday the baby woke up early so did just 35 mins of Step fit and then had to stop. Now I'm off to HIIT 40/20.

Natty, Sarah, Colleen: I've been told I'm becoming too slim /look like a cadaver as well but I don't care, as long as I'm on the right track for reaching my health/fitness goals. Personally, I don't want to look too much muscular because I have a small frame BUT I'd really like to have a dancer's body, and dancers are pretty muscular as well, so if I have to lift weights to have a body like that I go and lift weights and I don't care about what people say. I wish I was taller, when I look at Amanda's or Jay's body I think they're really perfect and beautiful, and realize that I may have a lean toned body one day, but will never have their height :D
So ladies don't be discouraged by what others say, just do what you feel right for yourself and if you like toned arms, go and get it! ;):D

Nikki: body blast: wow! And I so agree with when you say that Cathe keeps upping the game: she's brilliant in her job, and one of her best quality is that she's able to renew herself every year with new workouts according to new trends and discoveries in fitness, so ... I'm always here waiting for what's to come 'cos I know it will be something good!

I've pre-ordered the DD, can't wait for them!!

JT: seems you're going through many many important things in your life: I hope everything will go in your desired way!;)

Nat - I'm excited for you with Gym Styles. Some workouts take a little while for me to warm up to before I love them but Gym Styles I loved right out of the Gate. Same with Butts and Guts.

Collen - I agree about the not feeling it with some of the exercises. I wasn't sure I liked STS in the beginning because I wasn't getting that intense burning like with higher rep things. But the next day, the proof is in the soreness.

Ellie - I was a dancer way back in high school. I agree with the dancer's body being my ultimate goal (in a dream world). After all these year I still have extremely defined calf muscles, I think it's from being on my toes so much for so many years.

Nikki - I agree that Cathe keeps on uping her game. We all aren't going to like every single DVD she puts out but I sure am gonna try. Besides it gives me something to look forward to which always makes it fun.

JT - I was reading you last entries as if you had past a note to me in class. Being a married person that has been with her husband for 21 years it's feels fresh, exciting, and nervous all at the same time to hear about you and the "attraction for one another". Goodluck.

Not sure what I have on tap for today but it's got to be something around the house. I got 3 new pairs of shoes and I am going to make myself wear them inside before I go outside and walk. I will look like a goof wearing tags on my shoes, but who's looking anway.
 
Oh noooooo Gym Style Legs really killed me :eek: !!!! I have a feeling I won't be able to walk for 1 week. That workout is totally "insane in the membrane".

You are really keeping up with the rotation!! Good for you!!! I hated it when I used to do my workouts during Bella's naps, sometimes she would cut them short, and I was SO pissy. I could not even get 45min in!!! That's ok, something is better than nothing right? I am sorry to hear about that deep freeze going on there. How weird. Canada is having wonderful weather and Europe is getting killed with cold & snow. Hang in there, a few more weeks....
BTW, Italians think everyone is TOO skinny. My grandmother has been saying that for 33 years now to me.

I have never tried Michelle. I saw clips of her cardio on Collage and she looked ok, but I don't know if I would ever buy her stuff. I'm kinda picky. I have my Cathe, Jillian, Bob(sometimes), Jari and now Tom Holland. They keep me busy and so I hardly look anywhere else.

Natty-it's so funny how you mentioned that about the Michelle dvd because I was just thinking today about my collection. I have and like a lot of dvds by other instructors but nobody...and I mean not one of the others are even close to Cathe as far as consistent quality. A lot of the other instructors I have, I like maybe one or two of their workouts and that's it. For example, with Michelle Dozois, I really like Cardio Interval Burn. I tried several others of hers though and didn't like them at all...wound up trading them away. Especially Cardio Interval Strength (hurt the heck out of my joints and especially knees!). Same with Amy Dixon: like Breathless Body, tried her others, didn't like. Jillian and Bob, same thing. I love Jillians BFBM and 6 week 6 pack but even though I kept buying her I could never click with her other workouts. I stopped buying hers after Killer Buns and thighs. I've especially noticed problems with many instructors and their strength dvds. Michelle, Amy, and Kelly Coffey-Meyer all have questionable form imo and pale in comparison to Cathe's impeccable form with weights. I love Paul Katami though and I really hope he puts out some more dvds...his seem pretty consistent quality wise.

I can't wait to get Gym Styles legs now! Whoo Hoo! Although I don't know how I'm going to be able to still incorporate 2 leg days with Meso 2 if I'm this sore next week!:eek:
 
I decided I would do Bootcamp today since it's one that I have only done 2-3 times before. I put the disc in and started to look for the remote. I couldn't find it anywhere, those darned kids. I looked high and low, even in the cushions with all of the crumbs and popcorn kernals. After 1/2 hour, I finally decided this might be a good thing because then I won't be able to pause or rewind it. I went ahead and pressed play after hearing the trailer music for 1/2 hour (it's motivating the 1st time after 1/2 hour it's really annoying). Then proceded to spill my water bottle everywhere all over the sofa, table, floor, and even down into the heating vent. Then I had to clean up and wipe down everything. I went to wipe down inside the black hole (flashback to Flash Gordan). I reached inside the vent with a rag and wiped as far as I could reach. Pulled the rag out and in was riddled with mouse turds. Please don't think that I am a bad housekeeper. I live in the middle of nowhere and mice are normal in our vehicles, but in my house, I was digusted. The scattered brained person in me would have normally decided to forgo everything and clean all the vents out. However, I stuck to the plan and did Bootcamp anyway and loved it. Thanks for letting me vent (bad joke, sorry).

P.S. I found the remote sitting on the table, by the TV, behind my laptop. I guess I was so focused on Cathe that I couldn't focus on finding the darned remote.

DOMS City

Good morning ladies :)

Ok, I am in the highest DOMS state in my butt & legs. GSL really did a number on me. I was able to use my barbell for squats (I ordered a pad for it, but in the meantime, I wrapped up a yoga mat over the bar to eliminate the pain. Yes, I am a wuss, or maybe I am a "delicate flower"). 35lbs is what I was safely able to life over my head and squat. By the end of the w/o, my legs & butt were begging for mercy.
Today on my rotation is CCC. Ha, ha, no way. I can't even walk properly and I'm supposed to do that?? I am taking a rest day, and will commence tomorrow. I have to say, I am dreading that one. In all honesty, I don't find it fun, but I love the way it makes me feel so accomplished. I was thinking of substituting with Afterburn, but I'm not sure if that would be appropriate. What do you guys think???

I 3rd the LOL!! I would have done the same thing!! There could be a hurricane outside, nothing is coming between me and Cathe!
BTW, did you do Bootcamp from the Intensity series? Or Drill Max?
