We're In This Together (01/20-27)

Looks like everyone got some good workouts in. Today was Intensity for me. Tough workout, but still not as tough as Imax 3, Natty. Imax 3 is one of the toughest and one of my favorites. Good job everybody!

Nikki and Natty, I NEED to do Intensity soon. Imax 3, the fear is gone although it's still a tough workout.

Good morning :)

Nikki, you look so cute in your new pic! Intensity is probably right up there as one of my fav's. I love the step/hi/low/bootcamp.

Note to self: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES POST A HEALTH QUESTION ON THE OPEN DISCUSSION FORUM. Too many doctors in there. Geeze. No other comment for fear I will offend someone and start a war.

Bad night last night. I am taking a day off to rest. My arms are still sore big time from my UB workout 2 days ago :)

Good day everyone ;)

Natty-Funny you mentioned about the docs here. I told my Mom that Cathe realized early on that her clientele/customer base for her workout DVDs are highly educated, smart women so she markets her workouts to us.
Nikki-Cute pic. You look youthful.

No workouts for me either cause my orientation is at my prime workout time plus I did 5-7 days in a row. Plus, I was supposed to to HiIT last night instead of Travel Fit but it was better for the knees.

I did slide and glide for the first time yesterday and took the dog on a walk. However, I made lamb ribs for dinner with garlic an rosemary and they were delish. STS DISC 27 biceps, shoulders, and tri-ceps wgich are my favorite upper body parts to work so it should be easy to get my butt in gear.

Nat- Was that the question about eyebrows? Most people are extremely judgemental about anything that has to do with vanity. I thought your post was funny. This is coming from someone behind the trends. I never plucked because I didn't trust myself and wanted to have a professional do it. It was still on my list of things I wanted to do. I guess now that it is passe I can cross it off. Thanks for the letting me know the trends had changed.

Nikki-Your new avatar does look youthful. I said to myself I didn't think she had a daughter only 3 sons.

When you guys do Intensity do you have the little step or do you use the full size one?

Sarah

No Sarah, ha ha not about the brows. Everyone is vain I think to a certain point. We all want to look good, or else none of us would be trying to stay in good shape right? If I don't fill in my brows, I have 2 empty spots where brows should be. That would look weird (and funny). I could care less what people think. Botox is cosmetic and lots of people get it. I would never judge them. The "health" comment was regarding some other people's question about gas & such. Check it out. Scary. You might think you have Cancer after reading it. Ok, maybe don't read it.

Your dinner sounds yummy! I love reading about food.
S&G is so fun!! Funny, I hate working triceps. My least fav body part. I am still kick-backing 5lbs sometimes. Wussy triceps.

No, you need the full-size to do Intensity I think. My feet are big (size 8) I was never able to do anything but basic right/left on a smaller step. Love Intensity!!

Don't get me wrong, my triceps suck too. You can't see the horseshoe but I don't mind it. I hate the back maybe cause I can't see it. I also don't like the chest because I am flat as a wall. And what little I have are saggy and "long" as my daughters say.

What do you use to fill in your eyebrows? I have tried using mascara to darken them a tad but it looks like I'm playing in my mothers makeup.

Sarah

Today was Cardio Supersets (express premix with the step). I love cardio! I love what STS is doing for my body (looks and strength wise)
but cardio makes me so happy! Endorphins baby! :p
The only thing about that particular workout is that I have to modify some of the disc moves because of my cranky knees. I find disc jacks, cross country ski moves, and the momentum lunges hard on my knees so I break out my rebounder and do the moves on that.
Colleen

DITTO TO THAT!!!

I love love cardio...when I'm stepping I feel so happy that I'm addicted to that feeling!
You know Colleen that my husband finds CS hard on his knees too? I think it's because those discs force your muscle to work in a different way, I felt sore at the very beginning with CS or S&G but then got used to that and did not have doms any more. Anyway it's pretty odd that a low impact cardio provokes that pain...I feel DH's knees are no longer in good form :( Hope that loosing some weight will make him feel better!
I'd really like to have a rebounder...but we've got no more room left at home for fitness equipment! ;)

Natty : You rock girl! Kudos to you...Imax3 is super super tough and I think you really deserve your cake! ;)
How about your ultrasound? Is everything ok? I'm sure it is!
I do work also my UB, esp my tris as I hate saggy arms and bat wings! I have no more them now and I'm pretty proud of my UB, even if it's not too defined it's toned and stronger, and today I'm a bit sore in my shoulders from yesterday Total Body workout (it was Tracy Effinger Squeeze stronger Ub and Sqeueeze lower body challenge, high reps to work on endurance....a real torture to me!)

Nikki: very cute avi, your smile is so happy and sweet!

Sarah: I'm flat as a wall too, but I don't care: I just work my chest because I feel it helps my overall posture and muscle balance, but I hate chest work and push-ups like anything else!:D
And yes, when I do intensity I use the full step and feel like a warrior because being only 5" tall it's always a real challenge to me!

JT:enjoy your day of rest, you deserve it after all that hard work!

Today it was my day off from work, so managed to do Circuit Blast (which is not as hard as I thought but very fun and time just flew by!!) and had do to so many errands that evening has come and I still have so many things to do...Oh well, I tried to make my best, this is the only thing that matters.
It's dinner time...I'm off to cooking my meal, hope you have a great evening guys!

Everyone in this group is so sweet and thoughtful :)

Ellie
Ha, ha so funny you said "bat wings" !!! Are you sure you are not living in North America? The way you talk, I think you are lying saying you live in Italy so we could all be jealous....;)
Circuit Blast is fun. Not extra tough, but not easy either. Those medicine ball push-ups
I am small chested too. I used to wear a size B and now I am down to an A . It's ok, I accept them. I love working chest!!! And shoulder's too. I can go heavy with both. Bi's & Tri's, not so much. What strength workouts do you do for your UB? I love Jari, but sometimes I want heavier w/less reps and she is more light weight with higher reps.

Hope everyone is having a good day :)

Hi everyone! I agree Natty everyone is so great here!:D
I did STS disc 11 back and triceps today. I love working the back! I like it so much better than working the chest. For those of you who have a tough time with push ups STS Meso 1 is loaded with them. It's crazy! I force myself to do them though because I know they are good for me, but I curse at the tv when I get to the end of a set and collapse!;)
Ellie-I know what you mean by the house getting over run with fitness stuff! I have pretty much turned my bedroom in to a gym. My husband is actually pretty tolerant of all the stuff I have acquired even though he doesn't work out himself. I really hope he starts soon. He keeps talking about it...when we first met he was a total gym rat and loved working out. It's a bit frustrating because ever since he turned 40 he keeps talking like he is so old! I'm like, come on dude! I know he can do it but I know how tough it is to start.
Natty- that's so funny about the gas and cancer thread. I was reading that too and was like, seriously people? Like getting gas from something you ate isn't waaaay more common than cancer? Have you ever heard the saying, "if you hear hooves, think horses not zebras?" Heh. Sure, it is possible but really anything is possible.

Hm, I was thinking of doing a Michelle Dozois for cardio tomorrow but now I'm leaning toward Circuit Blast. :) That one is really fun and the time goes quickly!
Have a great afternoon ladies!
Colleen

SOME GOOD NEWS: I just found out I'm in SERIOUS consideration for a leadership developement position with a company whom I posted for a long time ago problably before Christmas. Hiring will take place about the time I'm done with my Career Transitional program. GOD only knows.
Also, I'm busy trying to get a carpools formed for the transition program only from my side of the State.
My Friday workout might have to be HiIT.

I suck at push-ups and I start STS in Feb. Hopefully, STS will help me improve on that.

Thanks, Natty, for the compliment. I take it you had a bad in the open discussion. My thoughts exactly about there being too many doctors.

Best wishes, JT. I hope you get the job.

Happy Friday!! Have a TON of reading to do today or tomorrow but plan to workout first.
My goal is to start STS in a month but, because of my age, I must keep my workouts strong during the summer. Last one, I did slack.
Natty-hope your daughter is feeling better.
Nikki and Colleen-have fun with STS.
Ellie-have a great weekend.

Oh no, I started a NEW WEEK!!! My post is in there. I guess we did it at the same time
