Hi Everyone! Have a wonderful, safe and honorable Memorial Day weekend. I will be on and off the forums throughout the weekend. Right now I'm going to go read all your fun responses to yesterdays "what's your fitness plans" thread. I tried to get through the responses last night after the kids got to bed but once I lied back and that warm lap top hit my belly, it was all over. ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :D

You have a great Holiday too!! I am going to the Highland Games on Saturday then start a 12 week certification of Six Sigma through the University of Michigan online.

You too! I have been travelling too much, and am finally home for ten whole precious days ... I've got plans for fun workouts (Meso 3! Love it!), hikes, gardening, and general relaxation! And, too, time to be spent remembering why we have Memorial Day, a solemn and proud and sad thing.

Happy Memorial Day, Cathe!!

I have picnic tomorrow, and that's it. A whole lot of nothing this weekend. Yay!!!!! Hoping to finish the cross stitch project I am working on. Just a little bit to go. Its a baby gift, and at the rate I'm going the baby will be here first  I've been thisclose to done for forever now!

I don't have to be back to work til 11:30 Tues morn :):):):D

Don't work too hard this weekend, Cathe. Relax, and enjoy!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone! Cathe, get some rest and relaxation! You have earned it! DH just ordered me the Club Step to replace my 20 year old Reebok step! Yippee! It was my anniversary present! He thought I might be disappointed - yeah, right. I'm so excited!

I plan to do an interval run tomorrow morning, come home and make breakfast, then relax with my DH. Sunday will be a steady state run with my DH and the puppies!

Have fun at the games tomorrow JT. Good luck with your cert too!

Thank you, Cathe, and I hope you and your boys have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, too, with plenty of R&R!! DH and I are doing a 5K on Monday to honor the soldiers in our families, but we don't have any firm plans aside from that. We'll probably just do a little grillin' and chillin'! :D

Hey Cathe! Have an awesome holiday weekend! Hope you have some time to have fun this weekend! We don't have any holiday party plans but that's okay. I plan to spend lots of time outside soaking up some sun while my son plays in his pool! I start 1RMs today for my first round of STS as well! I'm very excited! WOO HOO! Enjoy your weekend!:D

ETA: Finished my work out a little while ago..some upper body 1RM's, the cardio premix from Circuit Blast, some lower body mat work and abs! Time for a shower and off to the park while we wait for the sun to come out!

Oh goodie, Cathe's here! Quick question:

I am getting close to the end of a 3 month shock the body rotation, in which each month incorporates 1 week of full body endurance, 1 week of hypertrophy splits, 1 week kettlebells and 1 week strength splits. It's really given me an opportunity to use a lot of my workout DVDs, which has been great.

For my next rotation, I am leaning toward doing two weeks of Slow and Heavy, followed by 1 week of something else, and then repeat 4 times for a total of 3 months. I'm thinking that the second week of the Slow Heavy I'll do the slow count on the negative part of each movement. Of course, I'm including cardio in the rotation as well. I'm just not sure what that something else should be. I was thinking that full body circuits with cardio, as in Drill Max or Boot Camp, might be a good option. What do you suggest might be a great counter-point to Slow and Heavy?

Today I did Slow and Heavy Chest and Back (now, I've done workouts with 360 push ups in 10 minutes on my toes, and I can tell you, I did the SH push ups on my knees!) and some yoga. Tomorrow I'm doing a fun 5K race where they have chocolate at the aid stations! Think I'll enjoy that one!

Thanks and have a great long weekend!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend. I've been doing house work and yard work...not fun, but it has to be done. I've also cooking today..making lots of yummy, healthy things for lunches at work (black bean tortilla casserole, spinach and sausage pie, sweet corn and shrimp soup, etc).

I'm about to do STS 11 and then kick back for the rest of the day. It's too hot outside to do anything else!

Happy Memorial Day weekend! I'm staying at home and having lots of family time.

Today is my well-earned rest day, and tomorrow I'm going on a long hike. Monday will probably be Muscle Max, but I recently downloaded Travel Fit for an upcoming vacation and I'm curious to try it out, so I might so that instead.
