The Effects of STS & The Divorce Diet

Travisli

Cathlete
I'm in my last week of Meso 1 of STS and this morning I learned that I have lost 12 pounds this month and multiple inches around my waist, hips and thighs (that's all I measured).

I'm kind of in shock about that. I'm sure it has something to do with the stress of divorce, but in all honesty I have been eating. I have been eating a lot better than I had the 3 months leading up to getting a divorce, but I have definitely been eating.

I love STS -- looking forward to my active recovery next week -- which is timely since my boys and I are moving out of our house this weekend, I'll probably need the week to get my workout area ready for Meso 2! :)

I'm eating a pretty clean diet.

No processed anything and very little, if any, sugar.

I've made a couple of different vegetable soups that I've been eating for lunch regularly and then I've just tried to be good about my choices at other times of the day.

Average day is eggwhites and spinach for breakfast, granola/fruit/yogurt mid morning, vegetable soup for lunch, ezekeal bread and almond butter mid afternoon and then fish and veggies for dinner.

Also drinking lots of water.

It's definitely working.

Hi Travis. Haven't seen you around here in a while. Divorce is never good. My brother is in the process of his divorce and he is taking it so hard. Without even knowing it he was working out like crazy doing Crossfit and not eating much. He lost 15 lbs in less than a month and now to keep his mind off things he's training for next years Crossfit games. He married his high school sweet heart. They were together for 13 years. Hang in there!

I'm so proud of you!! What a way to turn an emotional and stressful situation into something positive. To quote our friend Steven, you are "AMAZING"!!

Keep up the good work!

{{{hugs}}},

Congrats on your turnaround since the preSTS post.

Slow process to get over all of it (BTDT) but in time it will be less stressful and life will get good again.

You are very positive and dedicated - great start to your "new life".

Hope the move goes well and you get your workout area set for Meso 2 !

very cool.. how many calories do you think you eat in an average day? impressive results!

I'm eating about 1500 to 1700 calories a day.

I forgot to say that when I lift I also have PWO shake of chocolate milk and whey protein (which feels like a reward for working out).

As unfortunate as it is that divorce is happening it is truly a good thing and I know I will be better for it in the end. And it has allowed me to get back to "me" and not feel guilty for working out because I want to work out.

I have not, by the way, gotten all my cardio in as Cathe's rotation suggests. I vigilantly get my STS workouts done and then I try and walk a couple days during lunch but other than that my cardio has been about packing up my house. And I'm feeling good.

Thanks for all the well wishes, high fives and hugs and thank you Jane for making me think about Steven ;)

The divorce diet definitely works--when I thought I was getting divorced I was at my lowest weight in many, many years.

Congrats on your progress! I'm sorry you're going through a rough time, but as others have said, your attitude is great. I'm glad you know you'll be better for it in the end. Sometimes it's just the best thing to do.

Good luck with your move--that's never fun, but you'll be able to have everything the way you and your boys want it, right? That's a good thing.
