Okay Negative Nelly's, . . .

With all the negative stuff I've been reading it sorta got me to think. . . . what is something that you are proud and grateful for? I know it is easy to hate things and be angry (do you notice how people tend to remember the bad instead of the good?) but what are the things in life that you are happy to have? Maybe if we focus on that it can change the mood a bit?
I'll start. . .#1 in this economy with rising food and gas prices I am extremely greatful to have a job (all be it a job I don't like, . . try having a boss who curses like a sailor and NEVER has anything nice to say). I would much rather have a job than no job at all.
#2 A family. I love laughing with my husband and kids, even if it is about who passes gas at the dinner table.
#3 coffee, ice cream, pastries, bread, cheese, and really good chocolate. I love that I can treat myself to these things every once in a while.
Okay, . . you see that made me feel better already, . .now you try. :)

This is a great idea Janie, thanks for posting it. This is pretty much what I do when I'm feeling down, & it always makes me realize that I have a great life. So here are my good things:

--my 2 adorable, cuddly dogs, who're always happy to see me & never get mad at me
--my fabulous house, that's my haven from the rest of the world & a mile from work so I don't have to worry about gas prices ;)
--my fabulous home gym in my fabulous house, which is something I've always wanted & am so glad to have
--my friends & family, who I love to pieces
--my beautiful new chianti colored patent Aquitalia boots
--my credit score & my paid up bills :p
--my gym, the only place in the world where I get respect
--my curly hair, that I fought for years & have finally learned to love
--my wonderful friends on this forum, who I value a thousand times more today than I did 48 hours ago! :)

What a good idea!

1) My kids: they can be so cute and sweet sometimes. At least once a day they each do something that makes me want to squeeze 'em! This morning my DS gave me a look that made him look just like he did when he was a toddler...made me want to take a bite out of him he's so sweet.

Also tied for #1) The most amazing husband ever. 'Nuff said.

2) A healthy, strong body. I often forget, especially when I'm feeling down on myself for not eating right, etc., that this body can do amazing things: grow, give birth to, and feed 3 babies, lift all kinds of heavy things, and other great accomplishments. Sometimes I don't give myself enough credit for that.

3) A warm, comfortable home to house us all.

Now that I am thinking about it, there are lots and lots of things I am happy to have. Janie thanks for starting this thread and getting me to think about them!!:D

I Love the FUN threads - I'm game.

#1 I too am thankful for my job. There are plenty of days when I think how I dislike my job but then I think "Ya know what I am thankful to have one!!"

#2 Also VERY thankful for my husband & kids. The happy marriage I have & 2 boys who I am very proud of.

#3 The food on my table & a place to eat it.

#4 My health , in part thanks to our lovely Cathe.

# 5 And most of all I am thankful for our Lord Jesus Christ & his forgiveness & many blesssings on me.

this is good cuz i am really tired and cranky this morning:

--it is only about a month away from ski season opening!!
--we get to go to home to both atlanta and cincinnati for christmas to see both sets of families this year
--i am happy that i finally started participating in this forum instead of being just a spectator
--for the first time in my life, i have a job i actually love instead of loathe
--i am able to afford a good gym where i live now so i can continue working out (living in apartment on 3rd floor isn't condusive to cathe's high impact workouts)
--i have the most incredible BF in the world....it took me 35 years to find him, but he is who i was looking for all those years
--i am glad lauramax decided to accept her hair cuz it is actually quite stunning

now i feel better

What fun. Love the warm fuzzies.;)

1. My oh so patient and smart DH
2. My healthy and funny DS's
3. My new beagle puppy
4. My health
5. My Cathe collection and workout room and equipment.:p
6. My parents & family
7. My free time
8. Beautiful autumn weather (albeit not today)
9. My wonderful and supportive friends (cyber included);)
10. My life so far....it has been a good one.

Not necessarily in that order.

I'm grateful for so many things I couldn't list them. So I'll just say that I'm grateful to be deeply happy, because I wasn't always. Things are not all that great right now: DH is in real estate, so we'll need to launch our own little personal bailout here if things continue this way, plus there is a small amount of family drama, and being sick with the Lyme, and then just the general chaos and unpredictability of life. Yet despite it all I find myself walking around with a smile on my face, and happiness in my heart. I've finally reached the point in my life where I know that "this too shall pass" and although the passing may not be pretty, I know that I will still be standing on the other side of it, with my sense of humor and ability to love intact. Today I know exactly who I am, and there's peace in my heart.

Sorry to be maudlin! It's how I feel. :)

You sound very positive. Hang in there!

I'm grateful for my husband and daughter
I'm grateful for my health and my ability to keep up with Cathe
I'm grateful for my friends
I'm grateful for my job
I'm grateful that no matter what, God will provide all of my needs

Janie, what a wonderful idea.
I love my wonderful Joey (husband),, he's the best in the whole wide world.
My sisters, I can talk with them about anything and they are there to listen.
My daughter, my little hero, she's an inspiration in life.
My grandson, who brings thoughts in, new and fresh from the young to the older.
My animals who I laugh with every day, and their unconditional love.
Retirement is out of this world, and still be able to travel, now and again.
To enjoy my crafts.

The list can just go on and on and on.

What a great idea. I'm in a fantastic mood, also reading about others gratefulness gets even better.

Janie
