Cathe - Why is STS linear periodization rather than undulating periodization

I don't have sources at my fingertips, but every non-biased source that I've read says that the result difference from using UP vs LP is very minimal. Essentially, they BOTH work really well. It's just that undulating periodization is a hot word right now.

Cathe - Why is STS linear periodization rather than undulating periodization

Thank you so much for your prompt reply! Makes total sense to me. I'm definitely "seasoned" but not an athlete so this sounds perfect.

Cathe - Why is STS linear periodization rather than undulating periodization

I'm following the blog and info posted closely, still deciding if I want to buy STS. I'm curious if you researched undulating periodization which seems to get great reviews and results. It appears, but I'm not sure, that you are using linear periodization which has been around since the...

    Anyone familiar with ADD?

Gawd! I'm like 2 steps behind in this conversation! Sound familiar?;) No, you can't ask about the meds. My son does not want ANYONE to know he has ADD. His 3 closest friends know because they knew him before he was medicated. He started taking meds at 17. Extremely bright kid but he...

    Anyone familiar with ADD?

That's funny! So many different opinions. Let me put it this way, Kathryn, I've referred several kids for testing because I thought they were ADD and I was right-on. There are several different kinds of ADD (which is officially ADHD with or without hyperactivity). My son and I both have ADD...

    Anyone familiar with ADD?

Kathryn, Did he tell you he has ADD? How did you find out? I'm no special-needs specialist, but it looks like straight-up ADD to me. I didn't see any of the asperger symptoms from what you mentioned. I would ask him if he has a mentor/counselor who helps/guides him with his life at...

RE: Bobbikins - Bobbi, The Lex is off this week with no one home! I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself! Right now it's laundry but I'll be getting to "something fun for me" by this afternoon. I'll have to visit Blockbuster for sure. How are you? Clare, if you notice, I said...

RE: Bobbikins - The boys/guys were home this past week and I saw a ton of movies I'd never heard of before - and liked! Around the Bend - loved it. Christopher Walkin et al. About making family connections on a quirky roadtrip. What the "Bleep" Do We Know? Kinda a documentary, weird...

    Grrrrr . . . Birth Order Theory

Bobbi, I don't think the book covered owning your own baseball team. You must have had some awesome pick-up games! I'm the oldest and only girl with 4 younger brothers. I'd say my youngest brother has the highest IQ and I am the most driven of the bunch. Between my two boys, Tyler, the...

    Grrrrr . . . Birth Order Theory

The thing that makes everyone angry about Birth Order Theory is that it often APPEARS to be true! And there's nothing you can do about it! It's the luck of the draw. And you really don't want to hear my opinions because - I'm numero uno.:P I think when you have twins, they come with...

Yes, ladies, there really IS . . .

I am addicted to peanut butter. I've been buying the Smuckers variety for a long time now. But I just bought the new "Simply Jif" and it has 20 less calories per serving than the Smuckers. Doesn't have that homemade feel to it but it's great for dipping celery.:-) Alexis

    Why I'm Leaving...

Wayne, I haven't been around here for a long time but popped back in recently to see if things had changed for the better. So how karmic is this - I SAW YOUR JOKE!! First thing this morning I read it. It was long and hysterical. I loved it and saw nothing wrong with the "off colorness" of...

    Let's talk about change

RE: Hey Miss Bobbi! Bobbi, Kathy - of course I wear undies every day.....need something to hold the Depends.;) I go through undie obsessions from time to time. My last obsession was this winter when I bought a ton of Jockey camis and matching undies. I felt so feminine! Lexy

Does anyone else NOT count calories?

Never have, never will - count calories. I do weigh myself once a week to make sure I'm staying within my range. I'll take that back. I did enter what I ate into Fitday to see if I was taking in enough calories. I was trying to lose 10 lbs and was eating something like 800 calories a...

    Let's talk about change

How can I thank you, A-Jock? Thank you so much for chatting with me. It's an honor. And regarding the number of posts? Well, I'm a good listener. In the old times, I'd ask a question, someone would answer, and I was done. It was nice because I'd have my answer and could get on with my...

    Let's talk about change

Yes, we did say we weren't going to do that but I CHANGED my mind! HA! Seriously, I'm an old timer but it's all relative. Compared to you, Aquajock, Kathy, etc. I'm not an old timer. It's that respect thing, ya know? I don't consider myself a long time Catheite; I'm a medium time Catheite...
