Your thoughts on Body Max 2

Hey! Does anyone else think BM2 is pretty tough to get all the way through the 97 minutes? I did it, without any stopping...but...whoa! I nearly fainted toward the end. My head was so hot and pounding. THen to get the strength to do the upper body AND then the abs. I feel great now, in any case! What do you all think???
Clarissa :)

Yup, BM2 is killer. I very rarely do it in it's entirety--I usually do the premixes or break it up into just the step segment, just the circuits, or just the upper body and I often tack on the abs to another workout.

I like the workout but HATE HATE HATE the music.

P.S. Did I mention I don't like the music?

That is so funny! I really love the music. I grew up in the 90's but I LOVE 80s music the best!! To each is own I guess!

I find the whole thing to be very tough to get through. I do the entire workout occasionally--just to prove I can, I think, but I rarely do it on the 8". I lower to 6 and it's more doable for me. I know I'm a weenie, but my knees are happier when I stick to 6 :)

Julie,
I always, always do BM2 on a six inch step. I used to do it on 8" but my knees would ache during and after. Plus, the dread factor was just too hight.

Like you said too, I occasionally do the whole thing just to prove to myself that I can!!

Oh, and I can't get enough of the music! I think this series has the best music of any of Cathe's other workouts. Every time I hear "Jessie's Girl" now I all I can think of is BM2 and those leg swings!!!

I love doing BM2, as is, and some of the the premixes. Just recently I have graduated to using the 8" step with this workout, fun fun!:7

BM2 is one of my favourite workouts. Love the music, love the premixes. I do do it in its entirety occasionally but utilise the premixes the most. And I always feel great when I finish.

Hmmm...you all are making me think maybe I should do this one in its entirety tomorrow. I haven't done it in a long time. I need a good, long, kick-butt workout! I have lots of DOMS today from yesterday's Power Hour and a run, so we'll see. Sounds tempting though...

I love BM2 but I have yet to do all of it at one time! I always do premixes. Last time I had it scheduled on my rotation, I fell off my step and sprained my ankle a couple days before, so I never got the chance to try it. I'm finally getting back to doing step aerobics but I'm going easy with low impact first, so I don't know when I'll go ahead and try BM2 again.

I think for some people it's just hard to schedule that much free time! I have to squeeze workouts in while one DS is in school and the other is napping.

Yes, I think the whole workout is tough. I have only done it "as is" a couple of times, mostly due to time factors. If I have over an hour to work out, I prefer to do a long circuit with the weight training mixed in, like the Gaunlet or something. Doing intense cardio first for an hour, followed by weights only just wipes me out for the weights and I have to go lighter or pause the workout.

I tend to to the cardio blast premix the most (not sure if that's the right name--its got the xtra cardio segment and is about an hour long).

I love the music. I wish the "Jessie's Girl" music was longer though(hangs head in shame--I was in 7th grade when that song came out:p :p ) and I love that "I'm a man" or whatever song that she does the 3rd cardio and extra segments with.

I grew up in the 80s! Loved the alternative music (but not a lot of the top 40 crap), but there's a lot of noisy 'filler' music in that workout that just plain annoys me.

I don't care for most of the music in this series. Since it doesn't make much of a difference calorie wise, but a huge difference on my knees, I don't use any risers but I too find it too mind numbing to work through the entire video. I stick with the premixes and find that i have more fun playing with mish moshes...keeps me on my toes ;-)
