I’m sure this question has been asked frequently in the past, but I thought readers (especially newbies like me) might benefit from an updated list. So, here goes: what is your favorite - and most effective - fat burning rotation? I don’t necessarily have a lot of weight to lose, but I have a big fluffy layer of fat that just needs to go! In addition to cleaning up my eating (I’m seriously considering purchasing Tosca Reno’s Clean Eating book), I’m hoping to find an effective rotation to burn away the fat so that I can advance to the next step in my “lose the jiggle plan” – muscle sculpting and building (eek). Thanks in advance!!

Katie

P.S. I also posted this question in the "Open Discussion" forum. :)

I had recent success doing 4-5 days of cardio and 1-2 days of total body lifting (2 f/b work outs or 1 f/b and 1 circuit) and 5 days of abs. I exercise 6 days a week. Now I only went by the mirror and my clothes as far as the "results" I received from this but they were there none the less! My belly flattened out and my abs became more defined so I obviously lost fat/leaned out. Those were the results that stood out the most. I did this rotation for 6-7 weeks and I was was VERY pleased! :D

I continued on to Cathe's December rotation. Tmrw is my final day and then I plan to start STS in January.

I found that the December rotation has changed my lower body. I am seeing increased definition in my thighs which have always been a "trouble spot" for me. :D Although Cathe does not include it in her rotation, I have continued the 5 day/week ab work. I find it to be very effective even if it's only 5 minutes a day.

HTH!

Thanks for this, it reminded me that I did really well over the summer with a very similar rotation (minus the extra abs). I think it's time to revisit that.

It's funny what you said about the Dec. Rotation and your legs, I started this one, but it fell apart for me pretty quickly, but I noticed in just the first week that your legs get hit hard in this rotation.

Thanks so much ya'll! I've been heehawing around for the past few months about how I just can't workout out 6 days a week. Well, I think it is time to up the ante! I'm going to create a rotation based on your suggestion - 4 cardio days, 1 circuit day and 1 full body day (with an occasional "leg day" thrown in for good measure). I think i'll try the rotation for 6 weeks and see what kind of results I get! I've never created my own rotation before, so i'm not quite sure what i'll come up with. Nonetheless, I'll try to remember to post the rotation in case anyone else is interested! :)

I am sure that I will revisit it myself again in 2011. I hope to complete STS starting in January. This rotation would probably be a good follow up to it!

You can say that again!:);) Between the weight work outs and INTENSITY the legs never get a break!

Don't go stressing yourself out over the exact work outs you are going to do. Just pick what you want to do as each day comes around. As long as you are sticking with the generic rotation of 4 cardios and 2 weight or circuit work outs then it's all good. I find that not trying to map it out to each exact work out works out much better for me! A lot less stressful but still just as effective! Good luck and enjoy! :)
