Hi, Cathe--
I just read your update from Thursday. I'm so sorry to hear about your injury! I'm very interested in it, too, I'm sorry to say. I just injured my knee about a month ago. I had the same problem in my other knee 8 years ago, and, because I didn't know what it was, I just kept doing my normal things (we all hate to stop working out, don't we?), really ended up injuring it and ended up having surgery. This time around, the minute the other knee started bothering me, I knew what it was and stopped all activity right away. (I have something called a plica band which is something you develop before you're even born. It may never become a problem, but, if it does, you're likely to have the problem in both knees at some time or another.) Anyway, like you, it was during the holidays, so the timing was good since you're so busy with other stuff anyway. I'm trying something new with this knee, going with accupuncture rather than the traditional medical route. My accupuncturist swears he can help me, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's been 4 weeks, and there's at least another 4 weeks of treatment to go, all with NO exercise involving the knee. I can only do upper body work and some floor work as long as no bending of the knee is involved. And NO cardio, which is killing me!
I hope this doesn't sound weird, but it's encouraging for me to hear about someone as fit and active as you having to take a break from everything. You always feel like you can't possibly stop exercising. And it always seems like the timing is terrible, like you wanting to get filming underway. It's good to know that even someone like you has to stop when you have an injury and just let your body heal. I'll be thinking good, positive thoughts for both of us and will be looking forward to hearing about your recovery and coming back stronger than ever!
Don't worry about the videos. We know they'll be worth the wait, and we want you to be in tip-top shape so you can kick our butts as usual! }( Take your time and get healthy--we'll be here when you're ready!
Take care,
Marie![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
