Your advice on new DVD's to buy other than Cathe

CeciFifi

Cathlete
For my bday DH is ordering me some new workout DVD's. I was hoping to get some input 'cos I can only order 5 or 6. I have a ton of Cathe already so was thinking of straying and getting the following:

Ilaria's Atletica Workout
Tracey Mallett's The Booty Barre
Michelle Doizois's Peak 10 Cardio Interval Burn
Squeeze: Stronger by Tracey Effinger
Exhale: Core Fusion Bootcamp
Kelley Coffey's 30 minutes to fitness: body training
Supreme 90
cathe's cardio fusion - i have them all separately - do i need them together?

(still searching - this is a tough decision)

I have tons of current weight training workouts - upper, lower, splits, cardio, kickboxing, drills, step, circuits, bootcamps etc... I mainly have Cathe, Jari, Jillian, Bob Harper, P90X, Ana Caban, Shiva Rea, Tae Bo, a few yoga and that's about it.

What do you think I should add? Or do you agree with these choices? I am curious about barre workouts but don't like feeling like I barely worked out.

Guide me - please....

Happy Birthday and congrats on getting new dvds!

I have Ilaria's BodyStrikes 2..and I am very happy with it. I would like to get Atletica and a few more of hers in the future. She is very much business and yet also pleasant....good choice! She is not a fluffy instructor at all!

Tracy Anderson is going to be on QVC around the 14th of this month I think, I really liked Omni Metamorphosis, so different than anything I've ever done. I liked all the changes, challenging exercises. I used a rebounder just about the whole way through for the dance cardio portion, worked great. It has a kind of a post modernistic flare, contemporary mix (unlike a lot of barre that can be a little stuffy), music that didn't get old for months, that in itself was pretty amazing.

I don't think there's really anything like it.:)

I've done Ilaria's Atletica, Bodystrikes 2, & Powerstrike 6, they're top favorites for me, and it will be interesting to see how they are now after new found wrist, low back, arm & leg strength (as well as ROM) gained with the Tracy Anderson Method. I felt like I worked really hard with Tracy, it's different though, requires a lot of focus, not so much brute strength, more stamina, but the cardio is really fun, and you do both everyday. You really kind of have to do the program if you want to see it work, fortunately it starts working immediately, that was pretty amazing too.:)

I'd recommend Athletica and Supreme 90.
(S90 is kind of a no-brainer because of the price: even if you only like 2 of the workouts, it's worth it, but many people like most of them).

I would also recommend Supreme 90. I really loved it. The only downside is there are only 2 cardio workouts. However, the workouts are all short enough that you can add cardio from other instructors for variety.

I don't think you need Cardio Fusion, if you already have all the other DVDs in that series.

Two others that are not on your list that would be a nice complement to Cathe's are Kari Anderson's Center floor & Sweat Express II, If I hadn't started some new things already, I'd get these. (still very tempted, it would balance out things nicely)

:)

thanks for all the input. so far i've put kari anderson's centre floor on the list, got rid of cardio fusion, fusion bootcamp, and kcm bodytraining, added kcm split sessions and am thinking of supreme 90. lean hot body looks sooooo tough and i'll look at tracy anderson. thanks for confirming atletica and dozio's dvd - i'll keep them. such great help. thank you.

I'm finishing up S90 and have been amazed at the results I've gotten...lots more definition. And for the price...wow! There are w/o's in there that some people don't care for and remove them from the rotation but overall the program has been great.

I know a lot of people like the S90, but I got it and though it was a challenge, I did not care for the production quality and the set and the exercisers. I simply have to like everything about my workout dvds to do them. I spend too much time with them to have anything not be what I want. In order for me to come up to the physical challenge, I simply cannot be distracted with exercisers doing their own thing...a set or production quality that bugs me. Now, if those things won't bug you...S90 would be a good choice.
