Your 3 Worst or Best Movies for 04 u saw

OK - just two nights ago we rented movies because my husband's God Daughter (11) was staying with us. Since she's young we got movies we wouldn't normally be seeing:

Princess Diaries 2 - I thought it was so light and funny and I really enjoyed it. Of course there wasn't a lot of realism and a lot of immature humor but I went into it knowing that would be the case and I had such a good time with it!

Elf - OK, I cannot stand Will Ferrell but this was the funniest movie I have seen in so long. I was laughing out loud and I don't normally do that - my DH and I are already quoting it!!!

I was let down by Open Water, Friday Night Lights and The Village - I expected greatness and they were just good.

I really want to see Napolean Dynamite and Sideways.

Fun thread! I love hearing everyone's different tastes!

I can't remember the worst ones! Maybe because I watch a few minutes and then leave, so I never really see a bad movie.

But I do know my favorites:

Hero - watch with subtitles - incredibly beautiful
Garden State - good photography and story
and maybe Leo (was that this year?)

Alexis

With 11 and 13 year-old boys, I've been dragged to some real stinkers. What's worse is when you actually have high hopes for something and you are completely let down.

WORST:
Catwoman - If you saw the preview, you don't need to bother seeing the movie

Surviving Christmas - Ben can't act, need I say more?

LOVED:
Ray
Shall We Dance

Hi everybody --

What a fun thread!

Hands down, for me I thought "Passion of the Christ" was the best movie of 04. I don't think I have ever been moved by a movie as much as I was that one.

However, on a lighter note.. my other faves were:

Napoleon Dynamite
Shrek 2
The Cooler

I was really looking forward to seeing the following movies, and was disappointed in..

Ocean's 12
The Bourne Supremacy
Jersey Girl

Take care, Lynn M.

Actually, I really liked Napoleon Dynamite, too. But I think you need to be fairly young, or have older kids (high school) to appreciate the humor. I told a friend about it and she just plain ole didn't get it - thought it was stupid. Personally, I think the "dance" is worth the price of the movie rental! Alexis

How could I forget the Passion of the Christ!?! The most meaningful movie for me.

We liked Shrek 2, also.

I'll have to check out the original Ladykillers.

Stinker:
Van Helsing - the ONLY thing that didn't suck about this movie was Hugh Jackman. WOW! That man is a hunka hunka burnin' love!

Excellent:
Spiderman 2 - just bought it on DVD and will most likely watch it quite frequently. Love Doc Ock - he was much cooler than the Green Globin (as my daughter calls him)

Other Excellent:
The Incredibles - I'm a big kid. What can I say? Will buy DVD

Another fav...
Shrek 2 - also just bought on DVD

I'm sure there are some excellent ones out there that I didn't see (I hear Cold Mountain rocked a little), but we really don't go to the movies much.

Really A-Jock? You didn't like Elf? I just thought Will Farrell was soooooo cute. I thought it was a really sweet movie. I'm with you on Bad Santa, though. THAT was hilarious!
