Hey there, shoppers!
It's a new month, a new week, not Lent yet (LAINIE! ;-)) and I've got an interesting new gadget to share with y'all. }(
I was in NC this weekend visiting my sister, and while we were shopping on Saturday I searched for some Mindy Mylrea-style gliding discs, which I haven't been able to find in Atlanta. My sis isn't into fitness at all, so I had to describe to her what I was looking for. No luck.
Well, Sunday morning my sister (sweetie that she is) slipped out for an hour while I was showering and dressing, and I discovered when she got back that she'd gone to search at the ONE nearby Target we hadn't gone to on Saturday. She hadn't found the Mindy discs, but she did find something similar that we hadn't seen anywhere else, and she insisted on giving it to me as a VERY nice gift. It's a kit manufactured by GoFit with a pair of oval gliding discs called "Valslides".
This gadget was developed by a "Hollywood trainer" named Valerie Waters (hence the name Valslides). Here's the website:

They're pretty cool. The discs are bright green ovals, big enough to plant your entire foot on. The side that you'd put your foot or hand on has a thick foam "bed" for grip and comfort. The kit came with a thick felted cover that kinda looks like a shower cap -- you'd put this over the disc if you were using it on hardwoods. There is also an instructional DVD that I haven't previewed yet, a drawstring storage/travel bag, and a nice laminated wall chart illustrating 3 levels (beginner, intermed, adv) of exerciss using the discs. My sister gave me the receipt just in case these didn't work for me, so I know the kit was $24.99.
I haven't tried these yet but will report. Have any of you tried them? Whatcha think??
